  1. We took a beating hopefully our region 2 kids can keep on ticking!
  2. U the man! Everyone in D-1 and D-2 knows that these are the facts. The top 2 to 3 kids in d-2 are very good then it drops off the charts. This year in D-2 215 only one would place and thats Coffee at 112 D-2 has 3 great kids. So it depends year to year and weight class. But the bottom line is some of their weight classes have up to a 50% chance to place and thats wrong. D-1 you have about 8% chance. Bring all the schools together again and it would probably go to 6%. No one whould argue that D-2 has some of the best wrestlers in the state but looking at this years State Tourney book 90% of the champs are from McCallie or Baylor(Great wrestling schools). Same goes for the kids in the finals. Looks like a big 4/5 (Baylor, MC, FR, MBA & CB)Tourney every year. D-2 could make it into a one day tourney and hold it at the Baylor or McCallie gym. That would give me more places to park
  3. Go back 2 years ago at 152 and no body thought that Turner from Farragut could beat #1 Bornman from Houston with a good double leg but it happened. That's why D-1 State is so great. The underdog gets his shot. Good Luck! RCP you should have emailed me. The former 152 finalist was available.
  4. Ouch. Spain is a smart wrestler. He can be beat but Scandlyn would have to wrestle his best and not rely on his strenth. He would have to attack, attack and not make a mistake.
  5. 215lb -Reviez and Merrideth will have to face each other in the semis. I was hoping to see that one in the finals.
  6. ADD 215LB WEIGHT CLASS TO THAT. Coffee is a shoe in.
  7. Don't count the seniors out. (Paul Mountain, Chad Turner were Seniors when they had their best state) There is something about your last shot at state that gives you that extra something. Can someone update this list and help what I miss. Also I feel that the 189lb in our region is one of the best. Shane revies has lost to some of the top kids in the state by 2 points or less. I feel he has a shot to place along with Morgan. Region 2 103- Sluder Greenback- chance to place Hoang- Cath 3rd Smith- Sey\ Shock-Maryville 112- Harless- Going to place, he told me so. 9. Sorry, coach just having fun. I thought it was a good article and your team and ND could shed light on the subject. I'm sure most of your kids would agree it's harder to get to state and place. Not cracking on your program or kids. I've beeen sitting in your stands for over 6 years now and appreciate your program. My sons have been on the winning side and loosing side against your young men. Good Luck

  11. ClickHow deep these folks would be going back to state if they were in D-II.
  12. But in the 1st and 2nd period I thought Drollman was in control. Hey, I'm a Harless fan. Not taking anything away from him.
  13. I remember thinking Harless was in trouble then he went ahead with 40 scds on the clock. Was that in the second period? All I know was that it was a great match. I know Harless was excited to win it. Sorry, if I put down the wrong info. Young Harless is one of the one's in this region I enjoy watching. He has goals in mind and is on track to accomplish them.
  14. No problem here. That's what I'm talking about. It what most of was raised with. No where has any one said a D-2 kid would not place or win, so get over your self. But winning a state Championship by wrestling 5 tuff matches vs 1 pr 2 in D-2 is a different world. Having to wrestling in the loser bracket an place is a true war. It's a real joke in D-II.
  15. Strong points and can't debate any of this except the 3 good kids. You don't want to name them do U? Yeah, I think we have been depending on the Pilot program and talent moving in. IMO-that talent pool will be going to CAK in the future because of the overcrowding problems at Farragut. Also, we have a disadvantage of not having a coach in the school looking for talent. When I said punt. I had the feeder program in mind. I think we will be in the hunt again next year because at some weights we will be able to reload. We have some great JV kids in our heavier wgts and some good freshmen who will be able to compete nect year. Our 119/125 will be strong middle weights by the time they are seniors but we will have to find kids to fill those weights next year.
  16. Is it just about the kids in the Championship round? In that case the D-II tourney should only have Baylor, McCallie, MBA and Father Ryan. That way you could just hold it at one of those 4 schools. Check the TSSAA site for returning state medalist in D-II. See where the returing finalist are coming from. At least in D-1 it's spread out. Thanks BL for giving me some credit!
  17. Open Mouth, insert nasty foot or in your case feet. Sure get all the fine Catholic schools mad at U.
  18. All good points It's like Nick R is being punished for being that much stronger and better than his comp. He will have to wrestle at state because there is at least 5 kids that can beat him if he dosn't. Congrats of your young men and how they performed at Region. I had you in the top 5 and with a few seed changes we might have been on your tail but hay I know it didn't hurt your feelings. See you at State. I would have like to see your 119 against ours it would be a good match.
  19. Great final, I thought he had Harless beat.
  20. Guess what the Irish didn't Guess what the Irish didn't Do they face each other this year?
  21. Again not football, but I set myself up that one Reason's This couldn't happen in D-II
  22. I remember watching him go against my son a few years ago. He was a tuffy! Is he a senior or jr this year.
