  1. BigReno, I've checked some of your posts on this board. Hatred is a pretty strong word for you to use (I would direct you to the thread concerning DB's big win over Science Hill earlier this year). There is a saying about people who live in glass houses but I forgot what it is. . . Harris' Hooligans, help me out here. I'm simply stating my opinion when it comes to DB's record. In fact, if you look at a recent post of mine, I actually stated that I thought DB had some very strong players including the strikers and the sweeper. And finally, I'm a Cookie Crisp kind of guy.
  2. Harris' Hooligan is my personal fact checker. I appreciate the help.
  3. What's up Mr. DB ? Actually, you're wrong, I voted for the Green Party candidate. Ummmm . . . I forgot his name, but will get back to you on that.
  4. Harris Hooligans is correct. I know Beech and Siegel didn't play one another.
  5. I'm not a big Siegel fan but I believe they should be No. 11 along with Beech. I saw Siegel and Beech play in the Katy Hunter and I think they are close (I would give the edge to Siegel, though). Dobyns-Bennett, one of the biggest schools at Katy Hunter, somehow got placed in the Barry Redmond division, and they didn't play the same level of competition that Beech or Siegel played. DB's record is unimpressive when you look at who they played this year. For example, DB beat Graves, KY 3-2 and I was told DB was pushed. Greeneville, who had a tough time in the tournament, beat Graves, Ky 5-3. It's my understanding that Greeneville was up 3-0 at half and played Freshmen reserves during the second half even though Graves kept most of their starters in the game. DB also tied (1-1) a very unimpressive Oneida team. I the end, I think DB's head coach must be the man behind the poll.
  6. I watched the Farragut/Siegel game. It was a good match with a couple of crucial calls (I'm of the opinion that the calls complained of were appropriate, however). Siegel is a very talented and young team but they seem to falter when their parents and fans start exhibiting that "passionate" behavior.
  7. It's awfully strange that bad calls seem to be a theme in Siegel's matches or at least that is how the situation is perceived.

    Bearden beat West 7-2.
  9. Who has the toughest schedule (any classification) ? Give me your thoughts. I'll throw one out there. Greeneville has Farragut X 2, Oak Ridge, FRA, Siegel, Tullahoma, Beech, DB and Science Hill in non-conference play.

I don't have exact score but Science Hill won big.

Greeneville won 6-0. Patience Leonard (soph) scored 4 goals and Greeneville played many, many subs.
  12. Congrats, South Greene. I know you are a fledgling program and will have your growing pains along the way but keep up the good work.

All I can say is play for yourselves. You obviously care about the game and I hope your teammates care about the game. Have pride and play your hearts out - that's all you can really do. I know nothing about your program but it appears to be in turmoil. Have the captains stepped up? Plain old bad coaching is one thing but if you have an intentionally inappropriate situation, get the parents involved - although that should be a last resort.

I would suggest that you buck up and play for yourselves - even if you don't like the coach. Your soccer careers will be over before you know it. Leave it all on the field and forget about the politics. It may seem corny and I might sound like I am lecturing you but one day you may have a boss you can't stand. You have to live with it or you can quit. No difference here. I'm of the opinion that you should always respect your coach no matter what. You don't have to like him or her, but you should always show respect. If he or she doesn't think your practicing hard enough or working hard enough during a match, then work harder.
  15. Northeast Tenn - I think Greeneville is the class of the region (Region 1). Six or seven of their starters are Freshmen and Sophomores and they only have 1 senior on team. They lost a major scoring threat (20+ goals as Freshman in 2004)to ACL in pre-season scrimmage and will have to fill void with another Freshman. If they gel, they will be tough. We'll see. DB will be tough again. The strength of DB are strikers who are also sisters. Sweeper is also solid. Without this trio, DB is average. They are very quick players who are also very physical (some say their physical play is more akin to dirty play). Very solid team. Science Hill is a question mark. It does not appear as though they can fill the voids left by graduation. Defense appears to be a little weak and slow but mid-field is a strength. Will probably be on the outside looking in but anything is possible. It will be DB and Greeneville once again for Region crown. Should be a great match-up.
  16. There will be a lot of disappointed individuals if Siegel does not turnout to be as good as advertised by its own players and fans.
  17. After reading Kate Woodard's recent post, I can only come to one conclusion; many posting members of CoachT should should take lessons in sportsmanship from Ms. Woodard.
  18. From all indications it appears as though Siegel has a strong team. We'll see who is standing at the end. By the way, what "nationals" did some of the freshmen on the team win?
  19. BigReno, I read your post and stand by my comments. Maybe you should read what you type before posting.
  20. It is hard for me to imagine that anyone would (or could) celebrate an injury. BigReno and Your#sBeenCalled obviously have problems. Celebrating hard, legal play is one thing - celebrating an injury is dispicable no matter the player injured.

Farragut 2 - Greeneville 1. Well played, physical game. Hope these two meet again.
  22. I certainly hope BigReno is not a DB student, parent or alum. I thought DB had more class than that but maybe I am wrong. DB evidently beat Science Hill on a defensive mistake (score 1-0). What an incredible victory - especially against a Science Hill team which is rather young. And no, I'm not a Science Hill player, alum, or parent (or fan, for that matter). If DB doesn't win another game all year, BigReno can still feel warm and fuzzy about the big win over Science Hill.
  23. It seems as though many people put a lot of stock in preseason scrimmages. Does it really matter ? Scrimmages may be fun to watch but they are quite meaningless. It might not be a good idea to pin a team's hopes for the season on the way they played in a 40 minute scrimmage.
  24. What about the strength of the Knoxille area teams (Farragut, Oak Ridge, etc.) ? What about Tri-cities area teams (DB, Science Hill, etc.) ? Anyone in the "know" have a scouting report ?
  25. DB evidently has a jamboree scheduled for this Sat. What teams are playing and does anyone know the schedule?
