My ranking of the best players to come out of Stratford High (Nashville):
1. Cory Fleming - All-state in track, football, and hoops. WR for UT, WR NFL (Dallas-Superbowl), WR Arena
2. Joe Campbell - All-state football, set several records as RB for MTSU, also played Arena, spent some time in NFL camps. Not switching to DB hurt his NFL chances in my opinion.
3. Kenny Witherspoon - played RB at Vandy. I would rank him ahead of Campbell, but he did not have as stellar a college career, but at least he did play in SEC.
4. Kenny Jones - played tight end at UT in late 70s. Never saw him play, but heard he was a stud in high school.
5. Ronald Downing - played RB at MTSU. He and Joe Campbell were in same backfield. Cory Fleming was the QB. I actually thought Downing would've been a better college RB than Campbell, but injuries cut his career short.
