I really don't think Melrose was a step above Alcoa. I think the Maryville/Melrose score might have made one asume that because the score was less lopsided but Melrose didn't have a bunch of just stellar plays the impressed me. Maryville didn't play at 100% that game and still managed to respectivly beat Melrose. I don't think Alcoa would kill Melrose like they did just about everyone else they played this year but I think coaching and disipline(yeah I said it but I think I spelled it wrong) gives Alcoa the slight advantage. Alcoa signed a two year contract with the Ky. school. They have to go back next year whether they want to or not!

I don't think Melrose would beat Alcoa. I think it would be a game full of highlight worthly material on bothsides. Melrose has just as many athletes as Alcoa and more than Maryville, but they have horrible coaching. It looked like they had a pee-wee coach.Alcoa has a good coaching staff and that is a major aspect of the game and I think thats why they would come out on top of a matchup with Melrose. Maryville would have won the game regardless of Melrose having a better coach or not, their disciple and coaching is too elite to be beaten by anyone.

I agree its kinda like well we can't talk bad about the way they acually played the game so lets pick apart every other thing we see. Everybody in Blount County knows that Larry Hunt hates anthing that to do with Alcoa. He called the personal foul on Brandon. I didn't have a good view on it but I would hope he is not stupid enough to do something like that. Especially now with everybody who thinks they know football watching him with mircoscope like closeness.

Brandon Warren is my hero. Now all you old men have something else to argue about. Leave it alone. Yes he is the best player in state but the last time I checked there are 10 other players are on the field. Some contibute alot others don't but hey thats just part of it. Leave Brandon Warren and the rest of them alone. I mean I never read a post bashing a Maryville player.

Fulton's field is really nice. The stands aren't great but the field looks great. I think I could take a nap on the grass.

Now don't start bashing on Kyrus because you guys have gotten bored ripping into Brandon, Joei, Duck, Shiverdecker, Brian, Martin, Rae,ect. First off the officals were horrible to both sides. They called holding when the only person near the spot where the flag was thrown was the ball carrier. The thing with Alex, Kryus was going for the interception he didn't run away. I can remeber multiple times last year when Kyrus saved Alex's butt on coverage, like oh the whole David Liscomb game when he was Alex's shadow all over the field. The whole T.O. dance thing. One it was a horrible rendition of it. I'd much rather see one of Kyrus' original TD dances. He is young and he did a stupid thing and he'll get it in practice Monday, but its not like it hurt the outcome of the game.

The Maryville game is over. Leave it alone. BW does make a huge difference. I think CAK and Fulton's QB's might have to go to therapy to get over Brandon Warren and Rae Sykes coming to take their heads off snap after snap. Thats one scary image.

Fulton's QB was suspended from the team because he skipped a pre-game meal to go to a girl's house. I think it might be a little harsh to kick a kid off a team because of hormones, but Buck would dissagree. I just wanna know if his harsh stance with ultimately hand fulton their first losing season in a while.

People really need to get off of coach reid. If you all were that good you would be coaching teams but you're not. It can't be easy especially in a community like Alcoa. In Alcoa every old washed up loser thinks they could do a better job, but the truth is they couldn't coach the Patriots out of a wet paper bag.

Brandon Warren or Rae Sykes from alcoa. Monsterous boys with great speed and decent hands. If they were coming after me I'd give them the ball and get out of their way.

Cause somebody didn't think he did a good job or maybe someone paid the coaches to give it to someone else.( that was sarcastic, sometimes I worry about yous guys). Maybe, just maybe it could be that Bart left the team his freshman year and talked some serious crap about the guys he plays with and for now. As soon as things went bad at WB he came running back and he needs to establish some respect before anyone looks at him again for a team oriented award.

Joei starts because he has experience, not to mention height, over Cobb. Randall is too athletic just to sit around and be backup, so they use him in other positions. Joei is also a member of that senior class that is so close. He is an important factor whether or not anyone wants to admit it. Brandon is closest to Joei and vice versa so he would probabaly feel better about catching the ball knowing it was thrown by Joei.

Let 'em be. If they get beat again then something is really wrong internally with the team and unless you play or coach for them I guarentee that you don't have a fraction of a clue about whats going on. I think CoachT was created so washed up people could re-live their glory days and talk down about the younger generation of phenoms. Let the boys play ball and then if they did a good job congratulate them. If they lost and did bad let it be. There is no sense in beating a dead horse, they feel bad enough and if everyone keeps bringing up the maryville game it will kind of make it hard to move on to focus on CAK. They will definantly lose if they don't focus, but if they lose I guess it will give you guys multiple hours of entertainment cause God-forbide your own accomplishments do that.

Great example of those who have never experienced the hype hating on the hype. Maryville and Alcoa are in a unique position. Maryville has a dynasty, Alcoa could build one with the kind of diligence that Maryville has.

Hello! Rae Sykes mean anything to you lady. He is a freaking monster. Yeah Alcoa got quite a few new knoxvillians on their team in the past two years too. Brian Sommers lives in Karns and drives his poor little BMW to school everyday. There are quite a few new kids from West Valley on the team. Shiverdecker did come because of his mom's condition. They live with her sister near East Edison. I would rather go to Alcoa than Jeff Co. anyhow. And really how many county kids are on that team. Dang Coach Reid is almost still coaching William Blount if you think about it. Its not recruiting its good product placement. Kryus went to West Valley and then moved to Alcoa(he lives in the city). That year Alcoa gets to the semi-final game. The next year Brad Blizzard and Brian Sommers come from good ole knox-vegas and they win state. That triggers the thoughts of dancing gold balls in the heads of a select few boys that they really don't wanna play for Bearden, they're terrible. They think to themselves, I know I'll do like the other guys and go to Alcoa. We won two championship in four years and that trickled down. Success is like a really good commercial for teams and if the word on the streets about the program is stellar, then the minons will flock. Heck thats why my brothers go to Alcoa. They refuse to play at good ole guarenteed 5-5 every year William Blount. Alot of the county kids probably go there because they want to see more than 4 playoff games in their high school career. My memory gets the best of me in my two decades or so of life....How many Championships has Maryvile won in the last five years or so? Yeah they are like Coke. We call everything coke. Maryville is the elite ad company for East Tennesse football.

I am so tired of has been never was players reminising about the "Great Coach Meadows". Has anyone really watched William Blount play. They aren't in shape enough to play one complete game. Last time I checked thats pretty dang important. I guess thats why Sevier County won that game or could it be that they are less talented that Alcoa's 2000 team and Coach Meadow's has lost his touch at getting to the hearts of his players, or maybe just maybe 2000 was a down year for football. Its not the coaching if the line does not block and the D-line gives up, which is exactly what happened. Old men or 20 somethings that had no talent but swear they let it go to waste reminising about the good ole days on this thing drive me nuts. News flash your glory days are over. Move on. Coach Reid might be a stubborn man with a little bit of a neopolean complex but the things he, coach dunn and coach porter have done in that school as far as male influences and coaching ability are way more inportant than some outmatched football game. GET OVER IT COACH MEADOWS IS GONE AND SO HIS WINNING RECORD. And by the way didn't you play the sidelines with your customized cleats. Yeah that was 100 bucks wasted on uncoordinated feet.

Yes, yes its true Alcoa played like dump. Believe me not only does everyone in the county know they messed up big time but they do too. Not having Brandon on the field I think hurt more mentally than it did physically. He is a big leader and I really respect him for the example he usually sets. Now, I know all the jealous middle aged men and the geeky kids that only sit in the bleachers and yell things like "overrated" when they've never been rated for anything in their oh I don't know 15-16 years of life are gonna jump up and down and claim that he's not a leader otherwise he wouldn't have gotten ejected in the first place but I would do the same thing. I would knock the guys hands away. It was a crappy call and TSSAA made an example of him. We all know testosterone is a dangerous thing, but then again so is homecooking. I am not making excuses because Alcoa played like crap and they would have lost with Brandon on the field or not. The key components of that offense have been playing together for years and they didn't even look like they liked each other last night. They didn't quite gel and no body on the field looked like they were doing their jobs on both sides of the ball. The coaching staff was not to balme; the boys were just dead. I think we should blame it on the Maryville/Alcoa festivities. Yeah, dang the pep-ralleys . The quest to be the most shool spirited really wore them out. Thats the secret have totally apathetic football players.They have a week to get it together. Thank goodness there is no pep-ralley for the CAK game or we would be in trouble. thumb

Alcoa is cocky. I'll give you that but before you put hex on them for it has anyone read the little witty saying this guy signs off with. "We're better than you." yeah okay thats not being cocky at all.

You went to school with me or should I say I went to school with you. I am a sister of one of the players and lets just say I spent way too much time organizing that office and typing those packets. Its sad...I noticed like 6 typos in the packet on hopkinsville.

I heard one of their major sports writers is leaving them for blount today. I couldn't be happier for that particular person stinks for the daily times. The whole staff isn't up to par but the sports department really stinks. I just hope when I get my education out of the way, Marty gives me an opportunity to write for them too!

IF you really do go to practices than you have no life or job. The meet the players night was organized by the booster club so they could sell the t-shirts from last year and make some money. You went to the thing and now you're going to bash them. They are a bunch of 16,17,18 year old boys who have great talents.Does confidence not count for anything. They need to go into games with the attitude that they worked hard all week and thereis no way they are going to lose that friday nights game. All these grown men who are either burnt out or had no talent to begin with need to leave it alone because you're not going to give them any great advice they haven't already heard from a bunch of middle aged washed up has-beens. The game in the players heads is not the Maryville game believe me. The only people worried about the Maryville game is you guys cause you have nothing else to do. Do not doubt the people that have put in the work towards the goal and unless you're a coach or you are a player yourself you have no right to get on here and preach what should and shouldn't be done to help win ballgames.

thanks tunit(i know who you are and you know me if you think real hard). Heritage isn't well known for their stellar academics or their male athletics. The best athletes in the school are either female or in the band. Alcoa does have a fan base. Nobody wants to come watch some team get beat into the ground. They're just boring and for the past few years thats what the Alcoa-Heritage games have been. And no I'm not against the truth. My only vice about the people who post on these things are whinners and embellishers, which you guys that play on here seem to do quite a bit I've noticed. Except for Tom,Rebelnation and Vol23(I think) I don't take many opinions to heart. oh by the way Alcoa06, I know your from the class thats not that bright but you really make Alcoa fans look ignorant and stupid. You go to school with these kids that are playing and the things you post make them look just as ignorant as you. I bet you don't even play.

Alcoa only has 400 or so kids in the school versus WB and heritage who have what close to 2000 thats where the fan base comes from but then again thats why I think teams should play in or close to their classifications.
