  1. There is nothing complicated about the offense that we are running.
  2. What was the score last year with Farragut? I have seen the last 3 scrimmages between us and in my opionion, your team has dropped off some each year. Can you update me on the kid that was hurt?
  3. It would not be realistic to expect much improvement from Friday's scrimmage vs West since the team has only had one practice. I do think this is a better match up for the Patriots. What I hope to see is : 1. Off line firing of the ball and holding their blocks 2. DB's getting off of their blocks and getting up field to make good tackles. 3. Some true veer offense with true reads and pitches Considering the Farragut scrimmage will be tough, this is the best chance to build some confidence. This scrimmage is very important.
  4. when workouts are truly voluntary, you find out who the true leaders are....if a projected starter is not showing up to workouts, the pressure should come from the leaders of the team. Kids need to go on family vacations but with workouts only being twice per week, they need to be there...consistently. This program needs players to step up with leadership and not wait for the coaches to step in. Thats when you will see this program take the next step and get to the level it should be.
  5. After watching way too many Soph 's play for the past 2 yrs. ....I hope we don't need much help from the soph class. Watch for a kid named Michael Meadows to help the DL. He is quick and tough.
  6. IamKing, Are his facts correct about not having any experience at the HC and coordinator positions?
  7. A large number of people in the community seem to think he is the man for the job. Considering he has already interviewed for the job on 2 occassions, the two-man search committee could still approach him directly if they wanted to. I have yet to hear a negative word from anyone about Coach Brown.
  8. [ Oh, he also said that he, along with Coach Kisabeth, will be in charge of the hiring of a new coach. No committee or anything like that. For what its worth, I am in favor of a search committee being created. Maybe some other opinions and some outside influence would do the program well. I noticed that Greeneville put Tusculm's HC along with 2 local business men on their committee.
  9. You are correct. I don't have all of the facts. As head coach and dad, you are certainly in a postion to set me straight. What is rumor and what is true??
  10. I'd love to know the whole story...I'm not aware of who you are . I've talked to a few people directly involved with the JMS program, so I hope that qualifies as at least "some knowledge". Are you saying its not true or that your not aware of it?
  11. Jett is nice kid but he ran the ball very soft thru out the year. Tip toed thru the line and never used his speed like he should have... He's a much better LB than RB. Its very disappointing to hear he might not play for JCHS...considering his family has grown up in JC and his dad is the coach at JMS, you have to question his leadership skills and/or loyalty to his friends. Gary has made a mistake by allowing these rumors to persist.
  12. I agree OSUbucks....but its better that they never come than to come and leave. Its been a while since i played but I don't understand how a kid can play with his friends for years and then turn their back on them and go play a LOWER level of ball...against the likes of Cherokee, Volunteer, Boone, Crockett...etc......When a kid makes this type of decision, you only have to look for the self centered parents standing right behind the kid. Who are the DE's going to be next year???
  13. Can you give us any information in regards to your workouts...any success stories or surprises. Who has the highest bench press and squat????
  14. G'ville Campbell Co Cocke Co Science Hill Karns Morristown East Sevier County/Bearden we will lose 1 win 1 West should be close game, it will help that we have one game before......DB lost alot of players. We will miss Denton, but the offensive line could be better if they work hard during the winter and summer. Can't think of any postion that we won't be better at next year, except kicking and punting. One critical need is to establish a backup QB. The main question I have for the upcoming team is leadership. Who will step up. Sherrod could be the guy, but he only seems interested when he's doing well. I'm not just talking about catches.....defense is important too. Zach will need to develop alot over the summer and be more vocal with his leadership. Stepp needs to stop whining and decide whether he's going to play or not. We don't need any negative attitudes. Was Cocke Co on the schedule during the ole glory days?
