  1. You will have to excuse BombSquad. He lives in a different world and only communicates on Coach T. Lipscomb runs a wing-T offense and has for many years. This year they have lived by the run, but will surprise you with a pass. Its hard to give you any dynamics other than they like to run and use the clock. Defense they run a hybrid of a 3-4, 4-3 base. They are led in the middle by Braden Binkley, 1 of the 3 Mr. Football finalist. They've got some decent size upfront and the secondary is also decent. They are very opportunist bunch and the takeaway percentage is very high. You can go to their website at http://www.mustangfanpage.com (I think thats right). You can see their roster, depth chart, their stats and you can probably fill in the blanks on your other questions and thoughts. The sight is very informative and well worth the look. Hope this helps. You can probably ask more of the Catfish Hunter, he's seen them at least twice this year.
  2. Lipscomb is a Church of Christ Affiliated school. Is the behavior of the Lipscomb Posters any different, any worse than any other school group of fans and players who participate on Coach T? I don't think so and most of it is mild compared with other threads that exist this late in the season. People poke fun or find ways to try to burn a church affiliated school and their players, team and fans. I guess it makes them feel better when doing it. The Lipscomb Football team has a few church of Christ members, a few Baptists, a few non-demon. members and throw in a few Methodists, Presby. and couple of Episcos and probably a few other flavors. This is just a pretty good football team with a good tradition of winning, sportsmanship and showing respect to their opponents on the field. They have been doing it this way for nearly 20 plus years. Some people find ways to tear down others perhaps to their own level. So Coachhard, Bulldog69 and others that are Lipscomb bashers...you are no better or no worse... than say...BombSquad! ( He does what he does for amusement and entertainment purposes only. Whats your intent?
  3. Does this mean that you are not a fan of David Lipscomb? Your posts seem to reflect that. (There must have been a bad Lipscomb experience for you at some time) If Cheatham County beats the Mustangs on Friday night, you will see the Mustang Nation pull for the Remaining Region 5 Teams for the balance of the post season.
  4. You know I have been trying to figure out how in the world do they change the color of the lettering. I never can get it to work. But "Bayron" is the Mustang Guru and he knows it....But he better hurry up and get back over to the Mustangfanpage...someone is burning him in that Message Board. Well, got to get back to class...need to give a Math Exam..but oh! how I hate to grade Math. Perhaps I should become a vice prinicipal...that seems to be a cush job.
  5. I'm Back! Been busy in the classroom, giving a math test as we speak. Still haven't gotten that bulletin board done. But I saw my old friend Mark Gaither back in the fold and wanted to say hello. How's everything in the 3rd grade these days. Do you miss coaching at all? I'm sure Kevin would love to have you back on his staff. Look for a low scoring affair in Pulaski on Friday night as the Mustangs face an improving Giles County. I may try to come. I did read on the Mustang Fan Page that everyone is going to the Hickory House for their buffet on Friday. Can anyone from Pulaski give us a heads up on what to expect from the Hickory House?
  6. Well we might as well close this thread as the Marshall County Coach has already named CreeK Wood as the Region 5 3A Champs. Everybody else is playing for playoff positions. Lipscomb and Cheatham County will be playing for the second seed.
  7. I see this being a very close game. Lipscomb will have to open it up and mix it around if they are to have a chance to win this one. If they can't, we may see another Greenbrier game for the Mustangs. Cheatham County must be a pretty good team, even though I read that the Marshall County Coach has already named Creek Wood as Region 5 3A champs and everyone else is playing for playoff positioning.
  8. Did not mean to offend you...I did not really think it was you. Just seem a comment needed to be made.
  9. Hey How do you pronounce your name? Is it like Bookem Dano or is it like No-NO- Bad dog? Got to get back to grading some Math Papers.
  10. You were right on the Money. Can you give us the Powerball numbers.
  11. Yes, coach it was a hard fought game in the rain last night. Greenbrier got it done where as Lipscomb could not. Hopefully the Mustangs can respond to an opening game loss as Greenbrier did last night. Your comments have soften in your last post. You need to go back and read some of your earlier posts in this thread. You took some shots and people fired back. However, the thread needed some life in it because it would have died an early death. These are two programs that have earned respect from each other and are not going to trash the teams. Lipscomb people this morning are busy washing their uniforms and drying out after last night. The Mustangfanpage will be updating this weekend. I'll be interested to see what Vandy1 has to say in the Game Grade and commentary. Hope to hear from you in the Page-Lipscomb thread this week. Perhaps you can stir it up this week instead of taking a jab at the Lipscomb students perhaps you can poke fun at their mothers. Just remember Bomb Squad and that crew reside in a higher floor of the matrix and only come down for the fun of it.
  12. Thank you CoachHARD for your comments. The Lipscomb Fans enjoy having records especially in football. Footall is more than players to watch, game strategies, stats....it also includes the Game Day Experience and the Coach T Website is now included in the High School Football Game Day Experience. Game Day includes painting the field, grilling the food, discussion around the concourses, decorating, washing uniforms, visiting school athletic websites, posting messages on football forums and discussing the Public-Private debate, who's got the best uniforms which appears how many times during a season, the best freshman, pre-season who's Mr. football, who's got the best stadiums and etc.. Now just for you: Lipscomb has been struggling offensively and has made changes in personnel I am guessing. The Mustangs will come out in a wing-T offense with Clay Smith at QB and unsure of who will be in the backfield with him. The Defense will try to stop Greenbrier's talented Kyle Herndon and his cast of teammates on offense. Look for this game to be low scoring and for field position to be the key for both teams. The fans and players usually already know quite a bit about each other and know that this is a big game within the ranks of 3A Football. all of this is High School Football.
  13. I think from what I am reading here on the ol' Coach T that neither offense is going to show up..3-2? Wonder if that has ever happened before? Surely some defense will score at least one TD on a fumble or int. Gotta go. Got Math papers to grade. Need some help on that Bulletin board.
  14. David Lipscomb only gave up one TD (a deep pass) in the entire season. They may have a good group of LB's Braden Binkley, Senior 6'0 215 Ben Lehning, Junior 6'2 211 Dale Binkley, Junior 6'0 198
  15. Lipscomb also held out a few players on the offense which could account for some its sluggish plays. Starting TB, Matt Elrod and OG John Austin Wilkerson were held out. OG Burton Saunders injured a knee in the Antioch scrimmage on Tuesday. All did not play. Have to leave for now, Class is about to start. Need a comp ticket to a Lipscomb game, call the athletic office and ask for me, Troyleetim and I will hook you up.
  16. I think we are very fortunate in having the Tennessean put out such a spread even though they only had one creative written piece. The capsules are based as it would look like Murphy Fair's questionaire to the State Football coaches. The Tennessean also has a prep beat writer and a huge high school web pressence. They also send out cameramen on game night to cover the big games along with several reporters. Their football preview I give them a B+ and their coverage of High school football overall a score of 95%. I have got to get back and finish my lesson plans for the year and finish that bulletin board in my class. If you are interested in getting a comp ticket to a Lipscomb Football game, call the school athletic office and ask for Troyleetim and I will fix you up.
  17. The comment was really not meant to be a swipe only in response of the comment of the post it referred to. The jest of his remarked indicated that Lipscomb could not compete with the DII two on a year to year basis (which is probably true in any division) but his comment about Lipscomb being the all-time winningest 2A Team and 3rd overall in all classifications was a bunch of crap-I took exception to. He expressed his opinion that the level of play was better and showed disrespect to a program that has achieved a level of success over the past 12 years. The road to the championship game is longer in DI. I have had numerous conversations with DII coaches and most indicated that they are not happy with the present situation but have to live with it. I must leave for now, as I need to get some lessons prep done and finish my classroom bulletin board.
  18. Are you talking about those teams in the asterick * League? Where there is a short road to a state championship. You're right they may not be able to compete every year for a state championship with MBA and the boys because they haven't in the other years. However, I do recall MBA scrimmaging in 2002 to a tie and the Mustangs beating BGA who beat MBA as the big red went on to win the *State Title and Lipscomb won the 2A title. Maybe the Mustangs are like the Atlanta Braves where they win alot of division championships but have only recently won 1 World Series. Good Luck to your team. If you would like to have your ticket comped to a Lipscomb game call the Athletic Dept at Lipscomb and have the secretary get you in contact with me.
  19. The ol' Catfish hasn't been to the Mustangfanpage to see how things are noted about the Mustang program and its history. Catfish you are right, The Mustangs open a new chapter--Don't you think everybody in 3A and region 5 knows Lipscomb has moved up and are looking for them? I think the Mustangs have a great staff, one of the best in school history and I'm sure they will get the team ready to play a new slate of schools and hopefully create a new set of rivaleries. Catfish if you would like a comp. ticket to a Lipscomb game just give the athletic department a call and ask for me, Troyleetim and Janet will hook you up.
