  1. it is for sure a 4.4 and that was as a junior so it wouldn't surprise me if it is a 4.3/4.35
  2. eh didnt see his stats from franklin but he was right around the same as matthews's stats through 9 games so he is probably 900+ passing, 850+ rushing now
  3. should be a good game it will be interesting to see how centennial can match on defense against a team who runs out of shotgun from what it sounds like, offensively speaking, centennial will be playing a scheme similar to their own when they line up in shotgun i'm not worried about the threat of the pass centennial has proved that they can stop the pass so if gallatin trys to throw against the same speed of centennials backfield the will fail its a toss up plain and simple
  4. lets hear some final thoughts/predictions for this game tonight My Final Thoughts: First off, Coach Matykiewicz, if you are reading this, the best of luck to you and I will see you at the game. Secondly, for about five years now I've been bleeding two shades of blue and one shade silver. Each year Centennial goes into the Franklin game as a huge underdog and for the past four years has come out on the wrong end of the final score. To be completely honest with you I always had the biggest hope in the world that we would win but I never truly 100% believed that we could win. Everyone talks up how good Franklin is all the time and I had always gotten that in my mind that there was no way Centennial could win because that's what everyone had said. This year is different. For the first time I truly believe that Centennial will win. There isn't a hope any more. It's a belief. You can ridicule me all you want but I truly, 100% believe that Centennial will, for the first time in school history, find themselves on the right side of the score board at the end of the game. For the first time the Centennial faithful will know the feeling of the Franklin grass under their feet as they storm the field in victory. Tonight, all eyes are on Centennial and Franklin. And tonight, THE STREAK ENDS!
  5. ha yeah they are bound to consider it a non quality win
  6. '61 and '70 though they weren't recognized by the AP as champions they were by the FWAA thats what i was basing it on BUT HEY! WE DIGRESS!
  7. 7 actually i didn't mean to throw the one on there my bad
  8. and i believe your next response will be "you lost to page" but this is a different team mentally than that which played page and if anyone disagrees with that, 7 games in a row thats all i have to say
  9. ok i'll adhere to that but this still is a very good Centennial team probably the best to be assembled at CHS in its history
  10. hold up. if you are comparing us to the buckeyes that would imply that we have been there and have known what victory feels like (ie the 17 national championships for OSU) now if you want to say that Centennial is like Hawaii playing Georgia thats one thing, but OSU has won, therefore making your argument irrelevant i like boise sate/ oklahoma better additionally why do people keep changing their minds about our "quality wins" going into indy, people say we needed a quality win and we won then people say thats not a quality win so we beat siegel who people said we wouldn't beat then people say thats not a quality win so we beat Ravewood who people said would be a quality win and now people are saying we dont have a quality win? hypocrites if you ask me!
  11. eh i still think that Centennial has to much offensive firepower for Franklin to stop Scales, Jackson, Kemp, and Kelly should be able to score their season average.
  12. if we are adding Page to the list then we must add Centennial over Indy because when we played them no one on coacht thought Centennial would win, outside of CHS fans of course but yes i completely agree with your statements this game though is very evenly matched, whether Franklin fans want to admit that or not. sure your defense over the year has done better than Centennial's, but the two big losses on defense will come into question and in my opinion could be the deciding factor in the game
  13. I'm not saying that in a matchup between SMU and Texas that SMU would win because of a huge talent gap there. But in a game like this when talent is fairly even, one could flip a coin. Then again: Boise St over Oklahoma Oregon St over USC Toledo over Michigan (Sorry CHS2007) App St over Michigan (again CHS2007 sorry) Stanford over USC there are many instances when teams who should not have won a game won it so to an extent i think that on any given day any team can win
  14. Ok I agree with you sorry there was a bit of a misunderstanding there you just don't need to smart off at a misunderstanding of a stat i threw out and call me out for "undermining" your intelligence, but since you miss understood the stat, the 46% of the total ESPN survey who thought the Patriots would win in a blow it is half right??? ha kidding secondly: in real life a Cougar and a Rebel are fairly even; A rebel could shoot a cougar but a cougar could surprise a rebel and pounce on him and eat his face off. thats how i settle the only other way to compare teams without stats I mean the Titans are 7-0 and thats obviously because no other mascot can stand up to a Titan and that would also explain why Seattle stinks, I mean, Seahawks really? though it doesn't explain the winless Bengals of Cincinnati...
  15. and yes i would say that it was a 50/50 shot at winning if we had the upper hand on Franklin because I know how these games have gone in the past. One play has changed the entire game (2004 fumble putting Franklin just past Centennial)
  16. ok first off i was referring to half of the 62% so lets not be a wise guy coming on here and telling me off when you are brand new to this; not a smart idea buddy. secondly, i have never counted out stats. my first post on this topic included all the stats just to prove that on paper franklin has us outmatched but ask either Mark Matykiewicz or Donnie Webb if that is an accurate description of what we will see in the game and they would say no and that you can throw stats to the wayside in this game and they will play this game with no stats in mind. For all concerned purposes going into this game, scales and nichols are sitting at 0.0 quarterback ratings. Kemp, Jackson, Lee, and any other backs have zero yards on the ground and no touchdowns. Both defenses are undefined by how many points they've given up or how well they can stop the run or the pass, because in all honesty IT REALLY DOESN'T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE! I played for Matykiewicz and he puts away past games and future games. THE ONLY THING THAT MATERS IS THE CURRENT GAME! Not what will happen next week and certainly not what happened week 1 for Centennial versus Page or week 7 for Franklin versus Brentwood. The shutouts for both teams over Clarksville NE do not matter. The big wins for Centennial over Ravenwood, Indy, and Siegel do not matter nor do Franklins big wins over McCallie or Hillsboro. This is a just another new week. It starts the same way as every other week: 0-0 on the scoreboard and 48 minutes to change that. Both teams with a 50/50 shot to win it.
  17. I've said it before when others have counted Centennial down and out Any team can win on any given night. Plain and simple. It only takes one big play or great collective play for the New York Giants to beat the supposed juggernaut New England Patriots. 62% of people on ESPN said the Patriots would win, more than half of which said it would be in a blowout. On paper, the Patriots should have killed Eli and the Giants. But games, on any level, aren't won on paper. On paper, Centennial probably shouldn't be 7-2 but rather sitting on 5-4 right now. On paper, Centennial shouldn't have beaten Ravenwood and Siegel. And on paper, Centennial shouldn't have come back and beat Dickson County when they were down 21-0. But guess what Franklin fans? Centennial is 7-2 after an 0-2 start. Centennial beat Ravenwood and Siegel. Centennial did come back to win 44-41 over DC. You think by now people would respect Centennial enough to not count them out. But once again: -Franklin wins, CHS defense is not good enough to win this game. Franklin has just as many playmakers as CHS. -chs defense has been spotty and again they still need a signature win -Franklin's defense is far superior to Centennials. With that said Franklin will come away with a victory. -I dont see how you think Centennial has a speedy D Line -CENTENNIAL'S D IS AWFUL, AND FRANKLIN WILL RUN AND PASS ALL OVER THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Centennial's defense will not be bailed out by their offense this game -I just don't understand how a team can lose to a team like Page, and then win 7 straight games in the one of the toughest regions in the state. They have to lose sometime, they can't play like that for a whole season after losing to them. Any team that gives up 41 to DCHS, 26 to Columbia, 28 to Indy, and 28 to Page doesn't stand a chance against Franklin's offense. -even if Centennial was able to put up some points, they will never be able to stop Franklin's offense -I just dont see centennials defense making plays that count -I'll pick franklins defense in a landslide. Hmmm... sounds oddly familiar to the talk on the Indy/Centennial board and the Ravenwood/Centennial board... Centennial 24 Franklin 21
  18. so says the guy with 13 posts therefore making YOU the best joke i have run into in a looooooooong time! with joe carpenter and drew kelly at DEs, the Cougars do have speed on the line
  19. it will be interesting the outcome of the first round games in the playoffs if centennial and franklin both win you are looking at a hung matchup there
  20. only number that matters is 2 as in the #2 seed in the region past records history doesn't matter, though it only hurts Franklin to think about not wanting to be that team who looses to Centennial Centennial has had a great year and the only thing that matters is that #2 spot Centennial can't drop below the #3 spot so Centennial really has nothing to lose and everything to gain Franklin with a loss has to go on the road for the playoffs
  21. 7 game win streak for centennial so far during that win streak they average 35.7 points and give up 20.4 points Franklin over the past seven games averages 37.7 and only gives up 10.1 points so on paper Franklin should win this game but games aren't won on paper I really like Centennial in this game The Cougars are playing with a lot of heart and Chaz Scales is hands down the best player in the region accumulating a CHS record 24 TDs (12 passing, 11 rushing, 1 INT return), 926 yards passing, 819 yards rushing, total of 1747 yards (so an outside shot at having a 2000 yard season) Tony Kemp and Raymond Jackson are continuing to contribute in the backfield and Drew Kelly with two more touchdowns last night and at 6'7" i like his matchup against anyone you put at him (unless you have someone to cover him that is 6'4+) I just think that Centennial is too explosive for Franklin's D to match Biggest question will be can Centennial stop Franklin's Offense?
  22. just remember a lot of the big plays that columbia had in the secondary were because of the field condition lots of slipping and slidding so far it looks like clear skies for next Friday so I doubt you will see the secondary have many miscues like last night
