Looks like my team is doing well in their new conference. With a sloppy (although a win) first game, and a wonderful second game against Greeneville, it looks like Boone will have a very good season (so far).
Knowing how Boone works, they will have problems if their star player (Skyy Hicks) gets keyed on by defenses or gets hurt. We don't want that to happen of course Also, if Boone keeps playing games one game at a time, they will have a pretty good season. Boone lost a lot of their coaching staff when they had their new coach a few years ago, but Jeremy Jenkins came back to his home high school and took over the team. After a rebuilding year last year, Boone has put together a good team this year I think. They can not depend on one player though. It looks like they have some other players that could possibly be monsters ( I met one of the boys, he is a 6'7 monster that is bigger that the 6'5 beast that I played with. I haven't heard much about him dominating though)
They play Central this week, and though they have had good luck with them in recent years, Central is never a team to take likely. I've walked into a Central game where they had a supposed weak team and left the field with a loss. If Boone can play like they did last week, I can see this game being a good solid win for them.
One never wants to look ahead too far, but the next three weeks are very big games for Boone. After they play Central, they have Sullivan North and Cherokee to play, and those are going to be very tough games based on some pre-season rankings. Boone needs this win this week.
Based on how Sullivan Central did the past two weeks, it is hard to say how Boone will do, but I do predict them to win. Central played Tennessee High (always a powerhouse) and the first very good Science Hill team I can remember in a number of years. I'll pick conservative on this game though, but there is no telling when you play Boone. They can walk into a game expecting to lose, and surprise everyone with a win (Morristown West, you know this well). I wish my team good luck and Central good luck as well!
