  1. Clear minds, pure hearts, can't lose. Scrappy bunch that has absolutely nothing to lose against a team that really needs this win to make a rematch against their rival; crazy things can happen!
  2. I think a relatively "good" defense from the Buffaloes keeps this game closer than a blow-out satus. However, I think North may have too much fire-power on both sides. I'm going to say: SN 27 WG 16
  3. I'm not sure what Sullivan North has this year, or honestly how this game will go, but I just want to say congratulations to the Buffaloes for making it past the first round for the first time in school history. Now, if I remember correctly doesn't North run a Wing-T style offense? If so, the Buffs have had some trouble in the past with that type of D and the Read-Option offense. However, I know Coach Case, and I know that his gameplan will put the Buffs in position to make this a game if the guys can execute.
  4. Nice cover... BVDevil, I sure hope we do get a win this Friday night. It will be tough, but our defense has been outstanding the last half of the season.
  5. I played for Coach Joe Case, and all this stuff you are saying is absolutely non-sensical. I played for Case his first two years at WG and have been very involved in the program since leaving. I'm not sure who your son is, but I can tell you this: your son was not told that he couldn't dress out with the team and/or that he could not put on a uniform. I know for a fact that there is a gentleman that is very involved in WG athletics that has an intellectual disability, and this gentleman was never mistreated by Coach Case or any of the other coaches at WG. I am sorry if your son has had some type of mistreatment or was offended in any way by something that you perceived to be so absolutely atrocious that you would start "calling out names". However, I have been around since Case was around, and he has not openly degregated an individual to the point of denying them access to the team or the facilities therein. Furthermore, you said that you didn't care if we knew who you were, yet your name is not displayed on your profile. Only a birthdate, which you share with my father, by the way, and a gender.
  6. I know that everyone is excited about the playoffs and where their team will be seeded. I get it, as a WG fan, I can attest to the excitement. However, I just took a peek at the classifications for next year, and it appears that South Greene has been reclassified as 2A in all sports. This puts them out of the 2A/3A football conference, the BRAC, as it pertains to this topic. We all knew this was most likely going to happen, but what does this entail for the BRAC? Will Greeneville move up, or can they? And, who will replace SG and possibly GHS? Here are my predictions with just SG gone. BRAC 2013 Cumberland Gap Grainger West Greene Chuckey-Doak Greeneville (Extra Non-Conference OR Gatlinburg-Pittman) Shed some light, please.
  7. I have watched WG play for the last 3 or 4 games, now, and it's like I have told people around me that ask. I have picked WG in all of those games solely because their defense has been improving at an incredible rate over the past month. Offense had been a struggle at the beginning of the year for the Buffs, but they began to do enough to stay in games. Now, I understand that Malone had 200+ yards, yes, but West Greene was able to keep Chuckey-Doak's hopes relying solely on him. I don't care how good you are, it's hard to win a football game when it's 11 against 1. Overall, this was one of the best football games I've seen in High School in recent memory. As for the penalty, the call on the field (if in fact it was a Personal Foul - Late Hit Out-of-Bounds) was correct. The rule states that if the two teams are tied the penalty does, in fact, carry over to OT. However, if the game is not tied and thelosing team is on offense, there should be one, untimed down. Ergo, if the losing team is on defense the game is over.
  8. Please stop posting on this thread. I am a WGHS fan, and love my alma mater dearly. Too dearly to listen to you make a disgrace out of us. I cannot stand MANY Greeneville fans due to their arrogance and some of the comments being a little out-of-hand. However, BVdevil is far from one of those. If there was a Greeneville fan that I truly enjoy listening to it's him. So do us all a favor and get off this thread. Oh, and RespectTheGame, it is most certainly ALWAYS FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE!!! Go Big Orange!!
  9. Even still, I like like the Buffs in this one by at least two scores.
  10. Honestly, if SG could only manage 8 points against an NG team that WG scored 28 (could've been more) on, what makes people believe that SG will score any more than that on WG? The WG defense has been pretty darn good the last couple of weeks, barring GHS, of course, but even there they forced several fourth downs in the first half.
  11. You may be right, but after last night's game I think our defense is just too strong for South Greene to really get much going.
  12. No, it may not be a coveted "Gold Ball", but it is, however, the Milk Can game. And, if you've ever played or been a part of either school when this game rolls around, you wouldn't understand what it means. South Greene is most certainly down, and i'm not sure that if West Greene wins that fans should be particularly ecstatic about it. Yet, South Greene held the "Can" for most of the 90s and the 00s up until 2009. So, with that being said..... WG 40 SG 7
  13. Shooting more for before the season started. However, I guess that would have been 27-27. Either way, most successful coach that WG has ever seen.
  14. Case is the best coach and Greene County, and seems to be the only coach in the county that Caine Ballard has hard feelings against. He's obviously doing something right. After all, he is the only head coach in West Greene history with a winning record for his current career.
