Here again we find someone who just takes a cusory glance at a thread without actually reading it.First I did not start that thread,but thanks for the boost.What did you want me to say-SCHS will win this one 100-0?I said if they don't get there act together they will lose.Face it,they almost lost to York.I know,"they just don't play well there".Just like they don't match up well against TC,or the heat at Catholic,etc.As far as who I am,what is it to you?Where I am at a game,does this matter?I can't help it if some of you can't handle the truth.We were great in the eighties,but that thread died because of people like you who just want to forget those teams and players.I do support SCHS,and as far as Eagledriver is concerned,I think his goal was to agitate some of you,but too many don't want to be picked at,but are the first to talk trash and smack on here.You should grow some maturity.And as far as defending someone,I was defending his right to an opinion,not that he needed me too.Also I am not being negative here,just stating a fact,such as on the TC/SCHS post,that was blown out of porpotion and misconstrude.Maybe you just need to clean out your ears,and buy you a new pair of glasses.You know some of you think that your opinion is the only one,and that youown this web page just because you are from SCHS.There are a ton of schools out there and anybody can post in any topic.SCHS isn't the only school in the state with a winning or losing program.Also back to Eagledriver I did say that I didn't totally agree with his post and he knew that.I would though keep in mind that this man earned the right to free speech and defended yours in the military.So everthing you post on here,you can thank him for defending your right to post your opinions.Also come on down to that little corner on a Friday night and introduce yourself.Those guys will treat you with respect,unlike what you do them on here.That will be you in 15-20 years.

He's got just as much right on here as you do.He's probably right,SCHS,as bad as I hate to say it,will probably lose this one unless they can get it together by Friday.

I thought the post was well thought out and done.I saw nothing really negative or harmful.

First of all as I said I am not bashing the coach.I did see the Fulton game and if any of you would actually read my post instead of just glancig at it then you would see that.I did say were it not for a few plays the outcome with Fulton may have been different.Also if SCHS would have went to the state last year they probably would have won.They do have talent.As far as beating teams you have already played and beaten in the regular season you know as well as I that Portland nor LA were loaded with talent or great records last year.I wish my old alma mater the best of luck.I will say the record against against TC speaks for itself.As far as calling me a four letter word,I think some of that was addressed on another post.In the end you must be off your rocker rocking chair.Or maybe you need your Geritol.Maybe you all just need a hug.Sorry the Truth offends you.

I never said I didn't like what we have now.You should read my post a little better.As far as the big games I am referring to 1988,record 10-0 first round loss,1989 record 10-0 first round loss.Last year 9-1 lost in the semis to a great Fulton team,but were a few plays from making a difference in that game.Rankin is a nationally recognized coach now.I again will state I am not bashing the coach here.I sorry if it offends you for a fact to be stated.I don't agree with everthing Eagledriver put.I think some of it is actually funny.[in a crazy way].Oh well I will once again state that I never said I didn't like the coaching staff.It's just like a game of chess.To win takes outsmarting your opponent and making the proper adjustments to his offense anfd defenses.Some chess players are masters of this,some very good, and some not so good.But some of the better ones always have there opponents strategys mastered before they play and will win in just a few moves.Not neccisarily that they are any better than there opponent,just know how to win against them every time until there opponent figures there strategy out and beats them.I feel Maynord is smart enough to do this and will.

I'm sorry I'm not bashing the coaching staff,just stating a fact.We can all see this is true.Maybe when TC isn't loaded with talent,SCHS can beat them.I wouldn't lay all the blame on the kids,that is bashing them.The truth is when SCHS lines up against TC they get outcoached.Maynord is a good head coach one of the better in the state.So is Satterfield though at TC.I think one things at SCHS down through the years,even in the eighties,is the ability to win the big game.I feel given time maybe Maynord can overcome that,but for now it must just be a jinx.Also when I say big game I mean the crucial playoff games,etc.I will say he has done very well against GHS but they haven't been what they were in the Eighties either.I will say I also believe Coach Dillard is a good coach as well.Again I'm not trying to bash the coach,just stating a fact.Sometimes in football some head coaches just have anothers number and that happens.Some coaches are better than others.I will also say Maynord is the best coach SCHS has had since Rankin.It's just a struggle against TC for the coaching staff and players to win this game.

True.Remember a few years ago when Portland beat TC very badly in the season but in the playoffs lost to them.That does happen,but doesn't take away from the fact they have SCHS's number,at least in the past five years.

This maybe true but Ihave noticed in the last few years that Portland has slipped and hasn't been the team they once were and LA isn't that great.In 1988 the rumor going around town and school was that LA would possibly be the team that upset us.Well that was false.I know people will say they have been to the playoffs,etc.But so has SCHS and our record against them is much better than that of TC.

Oh yeah forgot about South Pitt.,Marion County,and Bruceton.These are small rural schools.

Hit the wrong button.Oh well they still have always had the talent and remember just two years later won a state championship.

By the way the scores do not lie.1-6 against a smaller school and outscored 176-56 isn't that good.Especially when SCHS has good talent and goes in the playoffs every year.

They weren't that bad in 1988.The record may not reflect it,but we only beat them 20-0.This was with Juice.Also this was one of the lower scores we had that year.They have always had speed and talent,and it is the second biggest rivalry SCHS has.

Ripley isn't that big and neither is Covington and they are in rural areas.Alcoa is close to Maryville but they are still a public school.We have to face it,there may be a D1 prospect at SCHS this year or in the years to come,but they do come along.Also look at 1a publics and they have put out some decent d1 players over the years.Maybe it is just harder to get noticed in TN and especially in the smaller rural areas.

One other thing.I didn't totally agree with Eagledriver,although he does have some good points,but I did do some research and did find some interesting facts.From 1985-1989 SCHS played TC two times and won both[1987-1988]by a combined score of 73-14.From 2001-2005 SCHS is 1-6 vs TC losing by a combined score of 176-56.Now before the argument starts TC wasn't that good then,they weren't slouches and it is/was a rivalry game.Also in 1990 they won the state championship.This is just the facts.They have SCHS's number under Coach Maynord.

Alcoa,Austin East,Friendship sent a QB to Louisville last year,Covington,Ripley[Foster brothers],Goodpasture,Lipscomb.These are just a few from last year sending D1 recruits.Carthage has had some over the years who probably could've been but weren't for whatever reason.I do remember in 1988 some good Basketball players who went to Treadwell in the state tournament who were trounced by a player who later went pro in Penny Hardaway.We all must admit TC has SCHS's number in the last few years in footbal for whatever reason.
