  1. Much respect to Riverside, most of us true Ram fans knew this was going to be a battle to the end and not a blowout. Riverside players and coaches have no reason to hang their heads down, as I believe they will be a major player in 2a again next year. It’s a tough pill to swallow as we were on the bad end of a close championship in 2017. I definitely left being a fan of the Riverside program. As for Tyner, we get to enjoy this but next year we enter Alcoa’s world which will more than likely end badly but it is what it is.

  2. It seems he only can point to the past where their might have been some overhyped Tyner teams and yes they were a bit undisciplined at times.

I can assure you this bunch is extremely well disciplined and were not overhyped at all. Started the season in the bottom half of the top 10 rankings in 2a.

I got there in 96 remember us throwing it around a bit. With Hinton and Jones and all those guys

The ball was thrown a lot out of that offense. It was not a true wing t but hybrid. Still have never had TE’s at Tyner, at least from 1990-present which always baffled me to this day. A good TE can be a dangerous weapon.

  4. I haven’t posted anything on coachT in many years, still a casual observer but I wanted to pass along some terrible news for the Tyner community that former Tyner great Marquice Craddock has passed away.  He was the quarterback for Tyner Academy from 1999-2002 and in addition continued to help the program  throughout the years and was an overall great guy.  He suffered from Lupus and ultimately lost his battle several hours ago today.

  5. So much for this theory too...Rams win 28-14...chooo,chooo!

I know the Rams started out having a tough season with the tough schedule, forfeits, etc but I'm proud of the boys for hanging in there and potentially finishing 2nd in the district with a win next week.
  6. As I Tyner alum and former football player I will say this, Tyner has never been afraid to play tough competition no matter the outcome. One year when I was still playing(mid 1990's) we had to play Marion County when they were a dynasty, and the next week we had to play Brentwood Academy who at the time were ranked nationally and a few more schools who were several classifications above us that were pretty good. With that being said, most people, players, coaches from Tyner will not complain(maybe a little) about having to play Alcoa in the first round, sometimes thats just the way the ball rolls. The way I see it, everyone in 3A will have to eventually face Alcoa and we have the task of facing them first. Sure, Alcoa is a powerhouse and probably one of the top 5 teams in TN regardless of classification, but no matter the outcome Tyner will give their best effort and will not back down.

  7. I spoke with one of Tyner's assistant coach's today and found out that next year's schedule for Tyner will be brutal. I don't know the exact dates but Tyner's three non-region games include Ooltewah, McCallie, and Baylor. Region games will include Red Bank, Howard, Brainerd, East Ridge, Hixson, Central, and East Hamilton. There could be a change, but I'm 95% sure all of these teams will be on Tyner's 2009 schedule.

  8. I am going with Tyner by 21 in this one. Tyner is in this position alot though and it seems like they have not come through. I am still shocked that they lost to Westmoreland last season. Goodluck to The Ram Train.

Tyner beat Westmoreland last year in the playoffs then lost to DCA.

  9. Rematch of 1st round game played last year @ Tyner. Westmoreland can play some D. What's the verdict??

Well it all depends on if Westmoreland strictly runs the ball or are they balanced and pass the ball some. Tyner has a great run defense, but their pass defense in not that good. On offense, Tyner is a power running football team with a big line and many playmakers. Should be a great game, Go RAMS!!!

  10. Keep winning rams so win you beat Boyd those Warriors can claim there region title /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Even if Tyner wins out, Marion would not claim the region title outright, there are a whole bunch of tie breaker formulas and most of them favor Boyd.

  11. I guess DCA shouldn't show up, with all that speed and stuff. Tyner probably doesn't even need a bus to get to Donelson, they are probably faster than Greyhound, they could run here, run all over DCA and then run home.

I don't think DCA had any trouble from Bledsoe, DCA kept making stupid mistakes and still beat them by 11. On a normal Friday night they beat Bledsoe Co by 28+. Maybe you don't know this, but DCA has actually played some fast teams this year, honest they have. I think Goodpasture has one of the quickest teams in the state, CPA, they even beat up the team Tyner played friday, by 4 touchdowns if my memory serves me right.

Now I was kidding with the greyhound comment, I did not mean to be imflammatory, but please don't talk like DCA has yet to play a fast teams or teams that hit hard. I am pretty sure the players on the DCA team are not too scared of ya. DCA by 6 /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Tyner beat Bledsoe by 4 touchdowns, but so what, none of that really matters once the playoff starts.

  12. I have seen some film of your team. Your team is not bad but nothing to get excited about. From what little I have seen your defense looks soft. You have several avg backs but I just cannot see your offensive line doing much against our def front. You look more like a finesse team which most of the time does not like a real physical contest. You will score some but in the end I think the mercy rule is on by 3rd quarter. On to the quarter round.

I hope your team keeps believing Tyner is soft, mercy rule? You guys barely beat Bledsoe.
