So i guess its DB's winning program that lures these young men away from those other programs that only want to talk about what if. Tennessee High I am sure has some kids that could go to other school but for some odd reason they choose to go there. There is no fault in a kid wanting to play for a winning school. Tennessee High has a respectful program that gets the best out of their players year in and year out. All the way to the middle school. So I don't fault a player who wants to go to a school because of that. And i assure you that DB wont be bragging on a win against 4a tn high. there are bigger fish to fry. the last time i looked db is one of the only, if not the only team that plays top teams each year. Oak ridge, south and Tn High are always ranked. I like to see all these other schools in East Tn travel to knoxville and play the likes of Maryville, Morirstown West, or they can continue to play teams that don't have a shot at all in beating them. I wont mention these schools, they play with what they have. and do a good job at it. But its Wed. so we still have a few days left to see where the two teams stand. Should be a good one, at least for half.

just dropped in and wow... this game has some fans up early to get thier 3 cents in. but that is what makes these boards so fun to read. i don't say much but in this case i think i will let go a little. first of all i do believe that this db team is one of the best to ever step on the football field in this area. until a team can put some points on the board in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters then they will handle any team they face. if the vikes can't run they have nooooo chance. and they won't be able to in my opinion. they didn't last year and i don't see anything but a repeat of what happen a year ago. Next, why does big science hill fan always drop a line in the db thread. they have other fish to fry, like making the playoffs, seems to me they want db really bad, but are forgetting about the other teams on thier schedule. Howdy foozeball fans. i have waited long enough to predict the outcome of this game. Took me all but a milla second to realize that DB will win this one hands down. I know south has this all world QB, and all world evrybody else not mentioned whose last name is not phillips. I like to do what I call compare your team to DB team. QB- South all world as previously stated Burton, what can i say, he's a winner, only 2 losses in varsity starts i think, but hes compared to all world so no matter what i say i will be wrong... offensive line South not sure here but i think edge goes to DB, losing a center may cost south just a little. but who needs a center when you have an "AW" QB WR - DB has depth and many weapons, South has maybe 2 wr with talent. RB- DB has speed, power, agility, athletic, quick, versitle, but young but who cares about young when you have all that other stuff. South has Phillips Defense DB has this one hands down, I dont think phillips plays defense, but if he did it would be a closer call. look the fact is this, last year was last year, that ship has sailed and sanked. this year is something totally all itself. DB played a good Betsy team last week. South played happy valley, not a team to truely test what south can or cannot do. Phillips will have a few plays, but he will get hit and hit often by DB's defense. will be a game for 1Q then DB will roll 28 - 7 good luck to all

The feeder program in the kingsport middle schools have been doing a great jop over the last decade. Sevier won 7 or 8 championships in a row, and robionson has won 2 in the last 4 years with those teams going 16 and 1 combined. The freshman team that we send up their from those two years robinson won and sevier came in second went undefeated. The junior class now, and the freshman class this year. Untill they started thius so called playoff for middle schools all of you get your mind warped. A playoff started when Pappas and Bo The junior class this year, when they were in 8th grade, Robinson won that playoff championship, Colonial Heights was asked by the Redskins to play the next year they declined and played sevier. This years fresman group played and won thier 8th grade championship with an undefeated year. County schools do have a great feeder program, but they only want to play city middle schools if they have a chance to win. Also when was the last time South beat DB. Remember this statement, athletes will always beat footbal players. we have athletes in the middle and high schools here. instead of complaing teach and coach your kids instead of complaining on a message board.

Well enough with all of the hoopla on this thread. Lets talk about the game, no more stats, whos playin or where ya going to watch the game at. The bottom line is that this is a rivalry game that no one should miss. This is the game of the week as far as high school football is concerned in east Tn. Science Hill as always are the underdog and rightfully so. I see no way that they even have a chance to come into J Fred and escape with a win. Db has too good of a defense that will help them get easy scores. The Hills flaw on offense isn't talent, they are very talented, great athletes at the skill positions, their weakness is they only have one option, #8. Friday night the d backs for DB will make it very difficult for passes to get to him deep. I saw the karns game and what is it withe spread offense inside the 5 yd line. You have to run the ball sometimes and that my friends will not fly against the DB desfense. Too many weapons, forget who the QB is, my opinion #4 should start and finish this game Db scores early and often i believe.. A long night for the Hill due to them passing the ball every single play. With an occasional run by #2. Db wins 31 -7 Go Tribe If The Hill ever figures out the talent they have, and the coaches know how to use that talent, they will be a dangerous team year in and year out.

Great win for the tribe on Lightning Friday. look forward to this weeks showdown with the Hill on Friday night. Glad to see #14 back, I think he will open more passing lanes for the rest of the year. Now , on this so called QB controversey. There is none in my opinion. If #4 is healthy and can perform he is the one to take this team into the playoffs. I know we had some great passes on friday night. But lets be honest we were playing a 3a school at best and thats being nice. There are 2a schools out there that would have whipped up on that team. Some have said on here that Friday was the best performance of QB all year, but as i said it was a weak team. Deep passes was there all night. I believe that #4 will be the starter on Friday if he is healthy and he is the one that will give this team the best shot at continuing deep into the playoffs. Lets bring it this week

great game all around from the DB tribers. TN high wasn't ready to play and it showed. The fans were dead silent and the life was totally taken out of them after the hit on #5 by #24. I saw Tn high play Betsy and this wasn't the same team. They will get beat agin next week at South if they show up like they did on Friday. Some say last years team would have played better, but Db would have still won the game no doubt. Tn high fans have to understand that playing 4a teams with no speed, especially in this area, can be beat, 5a schools with speed and more athletes the result will be 45-0. Good luck next week TN High, better be ready cause South will be for sure. A well deserved week off and the Tribers will be back at it again. remember all its just a game

First would like to give OR coaching staff a thumbs up act by kneeling at the end of a great game. Now, I thought DB had a game plan that gave them an opportunity to steal one lat night. The score doen't reflect the great play og the defense by DB. I know Gilmire had 130 or so yards but half of those came on one run. He got HIT and HIT hard last night. The defense caused turnovers and the offense just couldn't convert any of them. DB will have to go to the end zone more. No passes were even thrown to the zone. Running the ball wa working, Burnett played a great game on O. And we have to go for the 4th and 1 we punted twice and once it cost us 7. But all in all a great game. Each school should cruise through regular season and 2nd round playoff game. 3rd round at J FRED I have a feeling it will be dejavu, only this time the good guy come out on top. remember all, its just a game

Wow, we have some really serious fans. First of all everyone has opinions but that doesn't mean you have to say it or in this case write it. If you ever played a sport then you will know where I am coming from on this. There are games that you are supposed to win, period. DB unfortunately has this label easch and every week. We are expected to beat South, Bearden, even Oak Ridge. The kids know this and the other team knows this. And when you as a team don't capailize on opportunities to put that team away it becomes a DOG FIGHT. That was the DB- south game. a dog fight. Which I believe we won. No matter the score we won. I will take a dog fight win mentality each and every week if that what it takes to win. Now, For this weeks game, I think the kids are ready we have a great group of young players, mostly juniors, who are in my opinion , going to be very great team before its all said and done. Bo is going to throw TDS and run in TDS and lead this team to victory more times than not. He did his job last week and I expect him to do the same this week. Is it a statement game I say no, if they win by 50 or by 7 I guarantee that these kids will play hard for 4 quarters. And remember its just a game! GO TRIBE
