  1. Trenton played a good game tonight and had some calls go your way. Congratulations on a good win. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  2. I will be praying for Milan tonight. Work hard. See ya on here afterward. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

  4. I was just wondering. The 2nd post did not stay in context with the 1st and 3rd one. Although it was posted under your name and anyone could clearly see what was said, I will give you credit for knowing that I am not psychic. Hence the reason I could not know that someone else wrote the post under your name. Just wanted to make sure where you stood. Enjoy the game tonight. What number and position are you? context:(noun) 1. discourse that surrounds a language unit and helps to determine its interpretation.
  5. Sorry, the Jackson Sun does cover Northwest Tennessee when a team from Northwest Tennessee plays a Jackson Area team. For example, Union City playing TCA this week. Any other time Union City been covered this year? I realize it is all about sales. They have to make money. I am not whining. Just interests me that they call themselves the West Tennessee paper.
  6. In 12 hours you have gone from arguing that Peabody is not a "one man team" to ... "all the other seniors make this stuff possible" to ... "Kendall Harper does it again" to this being "our best game ever". In fact, the 12:29 PM post was deleted and you reposted something else. Sounds like a little rebel in the ranks. Kendall is a good athlete. He is going to grab the headlines. Kendall will be going to college on a full ride. Stick with it ThatBigGuy09, things work the way they work. At least Kendall has headlines. "On The Ball" and "The Jackson Sun" don't even cover this area up here. I guess they don't get enough money from sales.
  7. I am going to try to not be biased. Moore is the better all-around athlete and Harper is a good athlete at his position. Buddy Legens is a pretty good all-around athlete as well. Moore and Legens have scored at least one touchdown from almost every position they play. Quite a few. 5 or 6, I think. Even in the classroom they are brilliant. I am not taking anything away from Harper. He is an extremely good athlete at his position. But if you are going to start handing out cookies, Harrison Moore and Buddy Legens deserve them. By definiton: player - a person who takes part or is skilled in some game or sport. athlete - A person possessing the natural or acquired traits, such as strength, agility, and endurance, that are necessary for physical exercise or sports, especially those performed in competitive contexts.
  8. You remember some of the Milan vs. Humboldt crowds back like ... '92 - '97, when Cain and Tucker were there? Huge ones.
  9. Superman. None taken or meant either. I just am very protective of youth. They have so many that just throw them around all the time ... you know how it is ... leaping tall buildings in a single bound - x ray vision and all, saving folks from themselves. You seen Lois? /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  10. I know. Just had to get the point across. You ready for Friday?
  11. Me either, but I hope that you caught the sarcasm.
  12. One, if you are a Westview fan and live in Martin, all you have to do is ask. Plus, if you knew them, then you would know what is wrong with them. Two, they are minors (meaning under the age of 18). This isn't college or the NFL. I know some of the Milan players, but I don't ask them about anyone except the people I know because it is none of my business who is hurt on their team. Its just not ethical to throw out anyone's personal information to the public. Can I have your bank account number, social security number, and date of birth? Have you ever had an STD? It none of my business. Agreed. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  13. I think so too. I want to see them MERCY RULE Milan. Now that would be some major hang up right there in the bracket. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  14. It would probably be wise not to discuss the status of any player on this board. Its really not ethical. Your daughter can give you the status after she asks at school.
  15. If Westview had a choice to play at Westview or play at UTM, I am sure that Westview would play at Westview. As it is right now, we do not have a choice where we play. A stadium at Westview would benefit all of the 600+ students at Westview, where as right now we are paying UTM to play there and only being able to use the facility for 20 hours a year. It has nothing to do with anyone getting off their wallets. The county is the one with the purse strings right now. Things are moving forward though, but when you get ready to help finance this thing, then you can get off your wallet, till then ... remember that opinions are much like the paper upon which they are written ... very easily wadded up and thrown away.
  16. Harper is a good athlete. Now, as far as the stadium goes, Westview plays on the road every game ... so it don't matter. Whether Westview plays 4 miles down the road at UTM or 10 Miles down the Road at Dresden or 53 Miles down the Road at JCS ... its all the same. All away games.
  17. Forget the tissues. I say that you all meet up in McKenzie and play "paper - rock - scissor - grenade" and see who wins. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  18. You need to come out and play. Just cause you got the flu means nothing. People still need to be rescued. We got 1 to play this week and need your brilliance to shun the dumb. Don't worry about Lois' issue. Just cause she didn't win the Monopoly Millions. It is rigged anyway. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  19. Thank you. Particular group of Students that I wrote that about. Great kids. I am glad that it has blessed you.
  20. I don't know about the other teams. I guess I could spend some time doing some research, but did Humboldt beat any teams with a .500 record or higher?
  21. What is a High School Athlete? Somewhere between adolescence and adulthood there occurs in human development an age, which is physically and psychologically impossible. It is the unfathomable stage known as “High School Athlete”. It is a creature undefined by psychologists, misunderstood by teachers, worshipped by small children, either admired or doubted by parents, tormented by their girlfriend or boyfriend or lack of, and unheard of outside their school. A High School Athlete is a rare combination of doctor, lawyer, parent, missionary, marine, actor, and diplomat. They are a competent psychologist, adjunct professor, a comedian in a drill sergeant’s uniform, a minister to all faiths with questions about their own. A referee, a coach, a salesman, and an advisor. They know less about the chemistry in their own body than they do Chemistry class. A humorist in a crisis, a track star in an emergency, a song leader, an entertainer, and a play director. An idol with their head saturated in sweat, and their feet in smelly shoes. A comforter on a cramped, hot bus after a long game with a pal who has just missed the last play in the biggest game that year. A listener, a comforter, a quiet voice in the darkness of their bus seat, still uncomfortable in their own stench. Many High School Athletes dislike the early practices, the late practices, and the after school practices, oh, and rainy days. Most are fond of sunbathing, though not when it means a farmer’s tan or the gym where there is none. Those outside want to be inside and those inside want to be outside. Many more are fond of games, scoring, winning, and actually playing. Athletes are good at patching up broken friendships, bloody cuts, and the relationship with the teacher because of the “occasional” lack of finished homework. They are good at locating their best friend in the crowd, playing championship games with any wad of paper, and destroying the little kids in the neighborhood with their skills. They resist getting out of bed in the mornings, and going to bed at night. A High School Athlete is a dynamo when they are turned on, exhausted when the adrenaline dies off, but on again with the next competition. Who but a High School Athlete can cure a loss with a smile, defy the smell of the locker room, read the lips of a coach 30 yards away, sing every song on the ESPN Jock Jams CD, and still not really understand what “Back in Black” means. For all this, they are rewarded with bad calls from the refs, bumps and bruises and sore joints, doubt and criticism from the fans, and a cold pizza or burger from what was left at the concession stand. You wonder how they can stand the pace and pressure. You wonder if they really know how much they are worth, and somehow, you realize you can never pay them enough when, as the season is ending, they begin to cry and wave good-bye, and all of that immediately changes when the coach announces in the locker room … “Workouts start in two weeks.” Only a High School Athlete. Loosely Adapted by From Article in Camping Magazine, March 1965 by Phyllis M. Ford
  22. You are really good. I admire you. Keep up the good work.
  23. Well, BulldawgDynasty, why not? Hasn't everyone else? I mean, Huntingdon did beat Milan and in turn, Milan beat Westview, so that automatically makes one conclude that what happens once will happen twice. Its like ... math or science or something ... physics, I think. So as it stands, Milan and Westview do not stand a chance. /mellow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mellow.gif" />
  24. So do you think that will make a difference to the game? I don't. I figure that Huntingdon will gear up and make a run through to the 4th Round. Got to get past Milan and Camden, but they have a good chance. They always do.
