  1. It seems to me that I heard an Oliver Springs commentator (channel 12)or whatever you want to call him said that he would buy a Coalfield announcer a hot dog if OS wasn't beating Rockwood by 10 at halftime. Since it is at Rockwood, I am pretty sure they will have more than just hot dogs! Hot chocolate, nachos, candy, popcorn, Coke, and more. Hope dude brings his wallet.

Good Luck next week at Wartburg

Congrats to OZ for a big win!!!!

i heard he brougt his wallet, but, for some reason he din't need to spend a dime. :D

Congrats to OZ for a big win!!!!

  3. Catback you wrong buddy. I have no problem with Oliver Springs, I always like to see OS do well. Just because I said i heard the guy say what he said does not make me hate Oliver Springs I think coach brackett has done a good job there and hope he does well in the future. Yes me and you have some back and forth on topics on here but you need to get your facts staright on someone before you come on here and say false thing about them. I wish the bobcats luck friday against Rockwood should be a good game.

Get my facts straight!! Are you kidding me ???? How many post have you made in regards to OZ'z schedule, that I KNOW FOR A FACT, were dead wrong. I think I'll send you a block of cheese to go with your "whine". :roflol:

I've never heard so much crying on here, from a group of fans of the losing team, I am sorry if some of "OUR SO CALLED FANS" were rude to you, but, it did not have any affect on the outcome of the game. And ALL teams have least than desirable fans, that includes CC too!

    Time to move on!!

  4. "And when they was about the rolling him of the field he was saying what the Clay Co. fans was saying"....

I have no idea what your trying to say in that sentence

Jet, you have a problem with OZ, I don't know why and I don't really care, I'll repeat myself for you, EVERY team has a fan or two who for a lack of a better term, are idiot fans, if it makes you or any other poster feel good to try to critize a town, fan base, or a football team, based on their actions alone go for it!

It just sounds like sour grapes to most, by the way, who is Cumberland County playing in the first round of the playoffs?

  5. Your right I think the OZ fans were surprised it was 20-6 (OZ leading) at half time, and surprised that OZ had 358 rushing yards to CCs 12 yards, and surprised that OZ had 23 first downs to CCs 12, and that OZ never punted in the entire game.

As far as your comments about the fans, it sounds to me like sour grapes, and if what you posted was indeed true. Every school has what I call "idiot" fans. You can't lump the whole fan base on a couple of immature fans at any school! The majority of OZ fans display good sportmanship, and appreciate all of the kids playing high school football, regardless of what team the kid plays for. Don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch!!!! :thumb:

  6. Thanks to the good ole T$$AA, everyone in this entire state is gonna search for the easiest non-conference schedule you can find. Pretty soon Alcoa is only going to get to play their conference games and Maryville.....after that, no one would play them. Who are OS's non district games against? What a crock this system has become, IMO. Just ignore me...I was venting.

I'd say that Oz's fall right in line with Oneida's games with DeKalb (3-6), and Cumberland Gap (2-7) as far as non district games.

I can't remember anybody (including ol JetBreath) that EVER had anything to say about Oz's schedule when they were playing Alcoa, CAK, Gatlinburg Pitt., Kingston, Loudan, Sweetwater, etc....

When the reclassification happened, for the first few years it was tough to fill out a complete schedule, due to re-allignments for all high school teams, those who don't actually know what goes on behind the doors, just get on here and make assumptions, that they do. I think for OZ to rebuild their football program, all of the right moves were made, now they should be able to reap the benefits, and grow the program for future years to come!

  7. Ah shucks, don't go hybernating because of these young punks on here. I heard that Oliver had a pretty good QB and RB. Are they juniors? seniors? Who does it look like you guys will be up against in the playoffs?

The QB and RB are juniors, I'm not sure about the playoffs, but, it could be Unaka in the first round.

  8. whoa whoa what?? clay plays teams like trousdale, gordonsville, and friendship christian, you think OZ has a tougher schedule? one of the toughest 1A schedules if you ask me. yes there are a couple lack luster teams but i'm sure the others make up for it. you can't look over any of the teams or they'll beat ya up and down the field. i look for clay to put up a fight, they know the importance of this game or at least they better. like said before clay has to put an end to the turnovers and penalties, the penalty thing has got a lil better over the year but still need to work on the turnovers, i REALLY don't see OZ wiping the floor with CC either. this team has came a ways since last year, hopefully they can show that.

if clay hits em in the mouth first and jumps on em early and pounds on em all the way through. i like their chances but if they lay an egg they'll get there hind ends handed to em.

Boys, you need to re-read my post, I said that of the teams that Clay has beaten, the overall record is 5-28. The teams you mentioned in your post, kinda put a whoopin on ya. Based on the score, it doesn't look like to me, that Clay was very competative in those games that they lost, I could be wrong, I wasn't there. I think OZ has better more quality wins than Clay, and I never said that OZ was gonna wipe the floor with CC, thus the statement," thats why you play the game"!

You wanted a response from OZ folks, then get your panties in a wad when you get one.I think you were looking for any kind of response, just to go off on. If you want to discuss the football game, good, if you want to fuss back and forth, do it amongst yourselfs.

I think I should have stayed in hybernation!!:roflol:

  9. Alright I'm coming out of hybernation to give my prediction. I think if OZ can limit their mistakes (penalties and turnovers) they should win this game, and build off of it for their playoff run. Clay County has four victories this year, of those teams they beat, they have a combined record of 5-28. I think OZ has had a harder schedule, and this should give them the edge in this game. But, you play the game because anything can happen in high school football.

Good Luck to the Bobcats, and hope it's a injury free game to all that participates!!

  10. You are right...what was I thinking....

Here's a group hug for all of those that I have offended this week...

I will give myself a one week ban from CoachT  , but here's a piece of advice for ya, Cat.

Just don't even click on the link for the CAK-Alcoa game after next week.

You will feel much better for it.

ME after CAK-ETown game next week -> flame.gif

I'll make a deal with you, I'll stay off the CAK-Alcoa thread if you'll agree to go a week without making some kind of derogatory post about another schools football program! Y'all be Cool!!! :roflol:

  11. Fair enough.

I would rather have another off week because....

The game time has been moved up an hour.

Because of game time I will have to really hustle to get to the game in time to take care of school business.

That will include heading west on I40 (from Pellissippi) during rush hour to get to said game.

I will not have time to eat. (this is the big one)

But I will do what I have to do to handle all my business, like I always do.

Cat, I did not have to explain this to you but I did to show that I am not a complete jerk. But, I knew you had other motives when you were trying to "throw a lure" at me a few weeks ago. You have a history with the fans of Blount Co., Why, I dont know. But we do have a name for people like you.

    It is called "Hitch"

    Y'all be cool. smiley-sunglasses.gif

Fair enough, but your wrong, dead wrong about having a problem with Blount County Teams, I've done my fair share of defending Maryville and Alcoa. Even when Alcoa was putting up big points on my boys team, I was the only poster to state that Alcoa was not running up the score, they were just that more talented, and we couldn't even stop their second or third team. Now, I do have a problem with ADULT posters who because of the success of the high school team they support, that think they can insult other teams and the kids who play for them. And you know, you pick on Bounder alot, some of it is deserved, but, you just put yourself on the same level with some of your posts. You can't justify your own idiotic posts, because of another idiotic poster on Coacht. That's not a valid excuse.

  12. Oh........one more thing catboy..............Hows the Open Zone enrollment thingy working out for Oak Ridge?

    :popcorneater:

    [/quot

Once again you choose to chime in an make an ignorant comment about something you know nothing about. My boys did not play for OR, they played for another school, so open enrollment had NO efect on me. Nice try though! :roflol: I just wonder how a high school football team being played by teenagers that is having great success, gives grown men the right to act like children! :thumb:

  13. I agree completely. A tougher non-conference schedule would simply get CAK more nicked and dinged up. It seems to me that his observation about CAK's non-district schedule was simply another attempt to make CAK fans feel less positive about what their football program has been able to accomplish. With all the success that Alcoa has had, I simply do not understand the compulsion some (not all) of Alcoa's fans feel to deride, denigrate or otherwise rain on the relatively smaller parades of other teams and their fans. I'll say it loud and clear for all the world to hear--Alcoa is THE HS football program in TN; its players are football demi-gods, with so much more natural talent than any other team's players, and they work so much harder, and their coaches are so much smarter. We all pale in comparison, and we realize that and have come to grips with it. But that's not enough for some of you Alcoa fans--no, you have to rub salt in the wound by belittling CAK's schedule. Is that the way you would want to be treated if the shoe were on your foot?

Great post, and dead on. I think ol paint has been sniffing his own paint. I used to enjoy his post, and found most of them pretty funny. Now, he seems only to be able to insult the 15 to 18 year old kids PLAYING the game by insulting the schools football program. I find it kinda sad that a grown man takes so much enjoyment belittling other schools, he acts as though he has some hand in Alcoa's winning ways over the past ten years, we all know that he has never touched the field in that time frame. Like I said before, all programs go thru cycles, right now Alcoa's at the top, but nothing last forever in high school football.

  14. I'd rather have another off week...... <_<

Man Coach, your setting yourself up for a mighty fall, and the fall will come, ALL schools go thru cycles and one day Alcoa will go thru one too! I just wonder if you'll be able to stand the "heat". If the games your playing now are boring you, man-up and play up.

  15. Well I don't know exactly what you're saying, but I have apolagized twice. But I didn't make up some tall tale or even stretch the truth, they were BAD. It was only a select few, but it makes the whole team look bad. I will say this,we had one last season who made us look pretty bad. Should have benched him and took our chances. All these kids needs to understand how to win and lose with dignity. Its not all about winning and losing.

I agree, the coach at OZ now, doesn't tolerate it, but, I will admit the previous coach did.

  16. It was several years ago in the playoffs at Cloudland. Was as bad as I've ever seen. The OS kids seem to have had Jock itch or something.Kept grabbing their privates all night. I'm sure this bunch has alot more disapline. Sorry I even brought it up.

Thank You fo proving my point with this post! It says it all!! :thumb:

  17. I hope OS's has a little more class than the last time I saw them, they were horrible. But they have new leadership nowadays, probably nothing like they were, its been several years. I'll be pulling for the Injuns as usual,A class act ,win or lose.

Boy if that ain't the kettle calling the pot black!!!

  18. Why don't you haters let Wartburg enjoy the success they have had so far this year. Here is a program that has struggled of late, and now they are having a good year. Every program has it's ups and downs, I think it's great that Wartburg is having a good year. IMO, it's posters that never played high school football that's doing the hating, because boys that do or have played, know how much time and effort it takes to play football. I say, Congrats to Wartburg, and enjoy the year!!! :thumb:

  19. Ol Tiger is nothing but a TOOL and a CoachT Stalker.

If everyone would stop responding to him, he will eventually stop.

It's kinda like a crying baby, you let it cry itself back to sleep and after about a week, the baby stops crying altogether. That's how you have to deal with ol tiger, he'll get tired of posting to himself sooner or later! :roflol:
