Redboy, I will give you the answer...They are running scared from ALL DII teams, not just Baylor and McCallie. They have a chance to come to a great tourney at Father Ryan in January and declinde to goto Chatt Central. WOW, how tough can it be to place at Central.

Bald Coach, Who did I insult. You, Well if you are one of those that belives that the TSSAA does not need to force all private schools into their own league then maybe so. As far as Kurt Page. It was insulting the way this report got into the papers only after he had a meeting with members of the Father Ryan Board about the AD Job that he wants back after he fled the school not 4 years ago. I know atleast 3 Coaches or teachers at every Middle TN Private school. It is not my 1st time around the Block. As far as out of town schools I know plenty of coaches to say I know what I am talking about after coaching on both the Private and public schools. So why should Ryan a fine institution do what one person wants to happen. When they need facilities before anything else can happen. I have sat down with some Board members at Ryan( I am proud to say I graduated from there) And they agree that until the facilities are updated and Oak Hill allows them to add what is needed Ryan needs to stand pat. So if you are a Graduate of Ryan speak up if not it is none of your business

To further shed light to what this great mind has said: I know the Notre Dame should be playign in DII but are scared. My Uncle personally made sure Notre Dame gave 4 athletic scholarships out every year until he dies recently. It is a shame a great institution like Notre Dame has resorted to just trying to get along rather than compete. I am sure my Father who is a ND grad would be sick to his stomach to hear how the might Notre Dame has fallen.

Mater Dei quit coming to the Ryan tourney after getting there rump handed to them many times. Mater Dei needs to learn there is more to wrestling than stalling out the match.

I have lived in the state of North Carolina for 8 years and have not seen good wrestling yet. And I attend matches every week. The Father Ryan Tourney makes the G.P. West tourney look like second graders

If all Priovate Schools had to play in DII travel would not be an issue in any sport but football. There are plenty of schools that play Other sports other than football to make this work. You have more than 20 schools in Middle TN alone that play DI so please do not use travel as an excuse on this. The private schools in DI do not want to play schools the same size because of the competition

Sure. Like at any Private School, You recruit. one of the best Schools at it today is Brentwood Academy and MBA. They have the facilities and they have the prestige. Something Ryan had for 30 years or more.

1st I will Address the Kurt Page Article that was not acruately reported. Kurt did want Ryan to go back to DI, but at AAA not AAAAA. He ran off most of the good players. He Left not 5 months after making the report. If a coach takes a job and does not think he can compete he should leave the Post. That is what Kurt Page did. Ryan needed a change at the top. Financial Aid or not Ryan Can compete at DII level. Look at the other sports. Ryan needs to even out the playing field by letting the Coach Hire 3-4 more Coaches and Upgrade the facility. If Ryan does not get a Field or better facilities they can't compete in Football. As far as the feeder School programs: The parocial league is run as a non competetive situation. Let Ryan and JPII run the system as a competetive situation and watch what happens. As for those that leave parocial schools it happens at the DI level as well. As a coach you have to go out and find the type of player that fits his programs both Athletically as well academically.

JN, WHy Cry. As a Father Ryan Alumnus. It needed to change and go back to discipline. If you can't handle it get the H-E-L-L out. we do not need Babies like you disgracing the school by crying.

It amases me how Private Schools can be asked to form a new league and not all Private Schools play in it. It sure isn;t because of Money because most Private schools pack the house and public Schools do not. When it comes to Financial aid, it is how it is worded from school to school that is different. To me the TSSAA needs to make all private schools play in the D-II league. Get some guts and kick those Private schools that are scared to play against teams that are the same size. Every Private schools gives some type of finacial aid. Live up to it and play in the correct league.

I guess Franklin is not as good as everyone predicted. To let a team that is 0-2 come to your house and kick you around the field. It goes to show you that the coaching staff at Father Ryan knows a little bit about how to prepare a team for a game and not give players 2 days off during the game week.
