  1. People who do not live inside of Oak Ridge who want to go to school there must join the list. Its not as easy as just paying some money. That being said, OR might be open, but just flashing money does not get you into the school system.
  2. I would love to see either Maryville or Riverdale play St. X from KY. They have a tradition almost as big as Maryvilles current one. Ive seen them play while I was going to school at UK. Great team, and as mentioned before both Maryville and Riverdale always have huge crowds for away games.
  3. HAHA hes in his prime eating time, and hes got time to let it all digest before the game. Besides, who DOESNT eat a lot over this holiday? Like most posters so far, Im not going to call this one yet, but I will be at the game cheering for my home team! Riverdale, please pass the gravy.
  4. 13. Soup Kitchen is the place to be if youre tired of pizza and want some AWESOME chili or soup right before the game. The weather is gonna be chilly so eat up!!! All this chili and chilly talk has made me hungry.
  5. OakRidgeCat: Dont forget The Soup Kitchen!!! Old Dad is correct about this game. OR's game all the way.
  6. Oak Ridge has had a few ladies play on the team. We had one play on the line. We also had a place kicker. Both in the same grade, but the one on the line dropped after two years. My senior yearthe kicker made a field goal and became the first female to score points for Oak Ridge. It happened in the 2002 season for those of you who want to go find the stats on it.
  7. This is the only game that Ive had trouble cheering for OR. A friend of the family is a coach for FHS, so its gonna be tough cheering for OR. I pick OR to win by 14+ points. Both teams have each had their down week, so I expect both teams to show up to play. Good thing this one is on TV so I can record it while at the DB-SH game
  8. Oak Ridge's band hasnt been much of a marching band until two years ago. For years they did it as a fun thing, and they knew that they werent the best. Since it takes a few years to change a program like band, as the kids who were there when it was 'fun' gradaute and they get more kids in starting them as a competition band members will make them only get better. After playing for them while I attended we knew that our choice of music wasnt always what the crowd wanted to hear, but we used it as a way to prepare for concert season in which Oak Ridge is one of the best, if not the best in Tennessee. We always played really hard music in marching season and to counter this we did not do as much for general effect, or GE as its called at OR. Give them a few more years to transition to more of a competition band for marching season, and then you will most likely be able to consider them one of the best competition bands.
  9. Going with just teams from East TN as Ive not seen any from the West end besides Waverly's. Got to totally agree about DB's field. It is a nice place as long as you arent a visitor. Maryville and Oak Ridge are the top two in East TN to me. Top notch teams, and the atmosphere at both are great.
  10. In 5A look at the OR-DB game earlier. Check out where both are ranked now. Might not have been one of the most exciting games after it was all said and done, but beforehand all the hype was correct. The two east end powerhouses in 5A meeting up in preseason again, and its still the only blimish on either teams record.
  11. Gotta agree with ShowTime. Check out #44 Wesley Smith from Scott Co. HAVE to throw him in the mix somewhere.
  12. The Ship is a unique field once it gets cold. After it turns colors and you throw on some paint there isnt another field that can compare to what you get to play on. As for the game, 34-14 isnt anywhere near what OR fans were wanting. We needed a big win over a team thats not done much this year, and a 20 pt win with a tie at halftime is not the way to go. A W is a W!!! Go Cats!!!
  13. 2A or not, thats still close to 150 yards a game. Theres a good running back at Scott Co. as well in Wesley Smith. Not sure how hes been doing in the last few games, especially after the beating they took a few games ago, but after the first two games he had 418 yards.
