  1. I don't think they're all that great myself. They may go a ways in the post season but just because of they're district.
  2. We were cold from the field thoughout the game and we came out flat but a win's a win I guess. Gordonsville did look a little better overall from last year though.
  3. The game was at Upperman. The girls first played Baxter, than played Mt. Juliet to whom they beat by at least 8. Mt. Juliet had beat them at camp. It was just a bad game with Baxter but they played very well that second game. Congratulations to Clarkrange for the win over Jackson Co.
  4. It was a scrimmage. The Celina girls really did not play well but like always Upperman is very well coached. They only lost by one but should have won by about ten.
  5. Celina lost to Upperman by 11. We made some mistakes early in the game and that killed us. Then we lost to Smith Co. by 2. We were up by 11 going into the third but got outscored 20-2 in that quarter. We had a 2 chances to tie it up late but couldn't capitalize. I only saw 1 of Clarkrange's games which was against Eagleville. They got destroyed by like 30. I didn't watch much of it so I'm not sure on what happened. I know Thompson did get hurt but I'm not sure when. [Edited by Dawg05 on 11-17-02 11:25A]
  6. Got a few things to fix on the Celina schedules: Both: The Dec. 17 Mt. Juliet Christian game is on there twice. Take out the one that is listed as a region game. Girls only: The Dec. 6 Monterey game is listed twice. Take the one out that is NOT listed as a district game. The Feb. 18 Smith Co. game is also listed twice. Take out either one. Boys only: The Jan. 3 Van Buren Co. game is listed twice. Take out either one. Thanx for all u do to keep this site going. [Edited by Dawg05 on 11-5-02 8:58P]
  7. Give me some info on the tansfer. Hieght, weight, position, ect.
  8. Celina beat Westmoreland in Varsity but lost in JV by 4. First loss for the JV this year(counting the summer camps). What's everyone else doing?
  9. I think Tomlinson is probably where he needs to be on these rankings. I've seen all the boy's yournumber1fan put in his post play. Out of them maybe Green is as good but I think he falls a little short. I'm suprised to see a boy from Forrest on your list, espesially on the first team. None of their boys stood out to me except the tall one that was launching 3's. Other than that it looks like i'd expect.
  10. I haven't posted in a while so I've got a couple things to say. RBS lost Heady so I think that will drop them out of the front-runner spot . On the Pickett Co. subject, what do they have that I haven't seen. Unless I'm mistaken their JV players from last year are going to be getting most of the playing time this year and they didn't look good enough to contend for a district title this year. All they really have is the Wright boy (Josh I think), but if you pressure the ball they'll throw it away. HS is alright but they're not gonna contend for the district title. I don't know what Monterey has outside of their JV team last year and we beat them twice(in JV). Clarkrange is a pretty good team with 2 outstanding players who, with one more shooter, might be able to contend a region title. Then there's Celina who no one is giving a chance to win the district. From the way things sound we have really the only complete team in the district (unless Pickett has something I don't know about). We have experience, we have talent, and we have depth. We may not have the do-it-all guy or the 40 point scorer but everyone on our team can brings something different to the table. Should be a fun season. Can't wait to get going.
  11. Celina hammered Watertown in Varsity and JV.
  12. Now wait just a minute. Just because they load down they're schedule, which they probably made before these girls quit btw, they're good? Come on. And so what if they have scorers. Without Green the scorers can't get the ball. It's gonna be tough to be such a great team when u have players with no high school pg experience trying to get the ball down the floor. Wright will win MVP because of guards like Donaldson, Walker, and Hamilton getting her the ball. This is the year Celina WILL bring home the gold ball. Now I won't rule out a chance that Clarkrange could get runner-up in district and region and maybe back your way into the state tourney but there is no way your hangin with the DAWGS.
  13. I think it will be Celina-1, Monterey-2, Pickett Co.-3, Clarkrange-4, Hermitage Springs-5, RBS-6. There's no way Clarkrange could be any where near as good as they were last year losing 3 players, especially Green. Monterey has some real good young talent, and Pickett will always hang around.
  14. We still have probably the best team in the state. We got Stephanie Rich back from Florida. She should do a pretty good job filling in for Brit. We also have a couple of really good sophomores that should get some quality playing time.
  15. I can tell u that the 2 Poindexter girls did quit. I don't know about the rest.
  16. Before u go and call all girls pansies know what your talking about. There are plenty of girls that work twice as hard as any boys. If the FRA girls can't take it then put it on them and not girls athletics as a whole. [Edited by Dawg05 on 10-2-02 8:40P]

At this point I wouldn't mark anyone off in this district. Except for Celina everyone has had a major problem (knock on wood) or is just an OK team. The 2-6 seeds are pretty much up for grabs.
  18. Monterey should be an alright team this year. They should finish in a 3 or 4 spot in the district but it wouldn't suprise me if the got the #2 spot. Other than that, it should be the same.
  19. Celina should be the front runner this year unless something amazing happens. The team I see with us is FRA.

If anyone is going to give us trouble it will probably be either Pickett Co. or Monterey. But as u know if u've watch a Celina game in the past year, we love to keep it as close as possible.
