Sounds like Saylor might be getting hot as he had 5 3s. Also heard Rich tweeked his ankle again but he played through it. Clay has a tough second round game coming up so hopefully they'll continue to play like tonight.

Packed gym isn't the issue. Da Coach and I have hit the issue. What happens WHEN (not if) the gym exceeds capacity? Are they gonna turn people away? The atmosphere is great and all but it would be nice if the people that want to see the game get the opportunity to.

Trousdale plays Pickett, but yea, Trousdale does seem to be the sleeper of choice.

I could see a kid or two being held back for grades but when a large part of the team has been held back for years and years then they are not being held back for grades. Clay has no hold backs this year to the best of my knowledge, nor did we any year I was in high school.

Can't really say any picks are crazy this week. When the teams are even, you usually pick the team you know.

Pile does have to get them to finish this game off. They have had 2 good games in a row and have blown both, but they are playing much better now than they were during the regular season.

First of all, I have never insulted someone's intelligence because they were held back, I just do that for kicks. I expect to get it back too and in most cases I do. Don't take it so personal. Holding back kids for their grades and their well-being is one thing, holding them back so they can play basketball is a whole other issue.

Well, if one girls sees or hears it, they all will. Fastest ways to pass info: telephone, e-mail, female. They do see this stuff because when they're at school sitting around, they get on the internet and see what's being said on Coacht.

I guess my sleeper will have to be TC. I think JC and C-range have a good shot at winning their first round games but I don't think they will get to the finals. TC gets hot at this time of year and they bring the most INTIMIDATING crowd I've seen. If that crowd gets that visiting corner, they are hard to ignore, trust me. I still hear, "We ready, ya'll don't want none."

I didn't think they were Church of Christ anymore, wasn't sure though. Anyway, should be a great first round with all the 7a teams having a good chance to win.

Clay will win if they want to win, plain and simple.

There's a fine line between believing and being stupidly cocky. Don't forget, the same night we beat your 27-5 boys, our 27-2 girls and a very good Clarkrange team were both taken down. Though I've never been a big RBS fan, I wouldn't mind seeing ya'll make a run at state. However if the girls think like you, they won't be there.

If Clay can shoot a decent percentage they should be fine. Look for Ferrell to have a big game.

Clay doesn't and I don't believe Pickett does this year, but Pickett has had 19 year olds in the past and they will have some in the future I'm sure. And yes, they are held back for that reason.

It's a shame that your kids don't have anything better to do than stay back a year and play high school basketball when they should be in college.

Let's see how many match-ups I can remember... Clarkrange over Westmoreland Clay Co. over Clarkrange Westmoreland over Friendship Celina over Friendship and that's all I got.

The way JC played Friday, I really like their chances.

Yea, ya'll played better . That must be why you lost again. If Clay could have made a lay-up or got any of the calls around the rim like ya'll were gettin this would have been a 10 point game in regulation. Almost every shot Clay Co. took was in the paint and yet PC is so disciplined that they never fouled. As far as Region goes, this is gonna be one of the better tourneys I've seen. Every team is gonna have a fight in the first round and it's hard to say who will be left after the first two days. PC is definitely not a write-in even if they play great. TC is always hard to beat at tourney time. The game also gets even more physical and as mad as Capps was last night over the little contact he was getting, I would not be suprised to see him blow up. We'll just have to wait and see.

I have a bigger problem with the parking than the gym, but the gym will be WAY too small. We're gonna be bringing all the people we usually do PLUS JC. No way that's gonna work. The fire marshall may have to shut it down. It also stinks that the only good place to put a student section is the visiting side and people like to sit over there. No way this should be a region tourney site.

No talk? Well, I'll start it then. Clay played an awful first hald but was able to keep the game close. Pickett took a comfortable lead into the 4th but Clay Co. was able to pull it together and if not for a walk call, this game would have finished in regulation. In the overtime, Godwin got fouled numerous times and was able to go 9 of 10 from the line to put the game away. I would guess that Clay shot around 30% from the field with many of those shots coming from within 5 feet of the basket. Knight had a great night off the bench with 12 points.

I didn't go but I heard they did pretty good. Tech administration had been trying to stop it for about a week, like it would do any good. They ended up ejecting 15-20 people.
