  1. You don't get it. They don't want spotted any points. They want to play only other public schools only. What's the big deal of private schools playing other private schools and public playing public schools. The only reason they are grouped together is for TSSAA is because of $$$. Enough said and I am done on the subject.
  2. {blinders} you still just don't get it, you just want to attack. LOL Have a great Christmas and if I ever get coffee split on me, I will be sure to tell the kid, like I did the last time, don't worry everybody has a day. And leave a tip anyway. LOL And yes this does have to do with 'fair play' -- you just dont get it. LOL
  3. LOL Boy, I wish money could be found in a briefcase! LOL And yes, rich people make money in all kinds of ways, yes your right by working their butts off. But if you want to get technical they make it other ways also, screwing the next guy over, stealing from the other guy, turning a blind eye to his fellow being, waiting for grandpa and grandma to knock off , or better yet, when mom and dad take the plunge and YES working hard for some people. So please, I was being a very level headed when I wrote my first entry so dont demean yourself by acting like a butt. And a little hint even people who cann't make ends meet work their butts off also! I still say the TSSAA should look at placing the private and public in different divisions. Johnny in rural boonies USA gets out of school at 2:3pm--practice until 5:3pm run home get a shower, grab something to eat--head to work and work 6 pm to 11 pm or 12 am. Get back up at 5 am and start the day over. Plus works weekends. Private Privy ? Mom or Dad Got a buck? I have known people give their kids debt cards and put a weekly allowance in it!! Now Tell me this isnt true! Plus they get their cars and insurance, clothes, mad money!! (And I am not stupid and realize that not ALL parents are this way with their kids) I don't be grudge them! This is what THEIR PARENT's work hard for to give their kids the best they can afford. But Please dont play ignorant and say that the field is equal. The schools should be divided.
  4. Most kids in the rural areas have to pay for their own cars, insurance, clothes, sport fees and such. Work jobs and practice their sports, and not miss ONE practice or they lose their spot. I don't see a lot of kids, who's PARENT'S can afford to put them in private schools, HAVING to hold down jobs like most rural kids. I can just say "Nice BMW and cool threads! Or How was the vacation in Denver sking or sunning in Florida? As you can tell by the last quote I made I KNOW I am being a smart a$$- but I really do not hold it against the private schooled kids for their PARENTS wealth. I just want it to be known that MOST kids in the rural areas HAVE to work AND make sure they don't miss practice if they want to play. It's not a matter of choice for most and most kids in the rural area cann't run to their parents and expect them to foot the bill for a car payment and a night out with the buddies or girl friend. SO I do applaud the rural students who do work hard and also make time for sports! That's my point. And there ever is a vote on private vs public. I think they should be two different divisions. Have a great Christmas everyone!
  5. Your right about the time a player attends a practice. But again a lot of kids in the public forum dont have parents that can buy them cars, pay their car insurance and give them $50 to run to the mall or just 'hang' with their buddies, or even a cell phone. A lot of the rural area kids have jobs and they pay for this themselves. Their parents are both usually working to just keep a roof over their heads and HOPE that their kids can get a scholarship to attend college. So I applaud these PUBLIC SCHOOL kids who go the extra mile of working hard at pratice and drag in late to get ready to go to work and work on their weekends and keep their grades up. Everyone gets upset when people say Private -VS- Public schools. This will be that way until the TSSAA get off the $$$ greed they make out of it and classify schools where they belong, different divisions. I think Private Schools would love the challenge of playing in their OWN divisons, just as public would theirs. But again it all stems down to how much of $$$ the TSSAA is willing to give up in order for this spat to stop between everyone. Have a Great Christmas Everyone!
  6. Region 6: East Hickman, Fairview, Harpeth, Hickman County, Lewis County, Loretto, Richland Well it's going to be an interesting season next year. It will be really interesting seeing East Hickman team's first game with us! I know there are a lot of kids that don't play because its hard for them to get home from practice from Centerville. This is great they will be given an opportunity to play! Welcome and its great to be back playing with some old favorites! See you next season folks!!
  7. How terrible! What school does he play for! Our prayers are with him and his family. I knew this was going to be a hard loss for LC. This GP team is good. When we played LC they were tough but we out played them. Our team dropped the ball when it was important and LC was rewarded with a narrow win. This is the facts of playing the game--you mess up it gives the other team the advantage. Next friday is the game of all-- GP and CPA should prove to be a awesome game. Good luck to both the teams. Keep your heads up LC you only lost by 5 more points than us. AND everyone has lost to GP so far!
  8. Yes Papatiger, LC does have some big boys but GP has big honking boys and they are toned! Built like brick houses! I dont think GP is going to skunk LC- I dont think they are going to risk their key players getting hurt before they really need them. Like I said before, I have seen both teams play--I say GP wins this one hands down.
  9. Sorry folks I give GP this win. GP 49 LC 0 I have seen GP play and I have seen LC. Sorry LC you are going to see some bumps.
  10. Ok Thanks so much! I will not go on ebay! saving pennies now! LOL Keep warm friday night folks!! Woo! Hoo! MORE FOOTBALL!! LOL Drive safely!!
  11. Wow! Thanks a lot EVERYONE! So much to learn! LOL I am going to have to hit Pawn shops for items though (still feeding football players) LOL I can start a bit at a time! I appreciate everyone's help! Have you all priced on Ebay. They seem to have some stuff there. You just have to really watch who you buy from. See you all at the games!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Would this be a good starter camera? Canon Digital Rebel XTI w/18-55 Silver Kit
  13. Hey MtSports! That last topic got shut down so I thought I would thank you here. I guess I will have to save up a little more $$! I appreciate the advice. I guess I will have to stick with my little pocket warmer for a short time more! LOL Don't let complaints get you down either. I had a parent complaining to me about the meals I was serving-granted no one else would do the freshman and JV meals, I saw a need and filled it. It just so happened a nice gentleman who use to coach was within hearing distance and came up to me and said "You will never make 100% of the people happy, just do the best you can!" And he was and is right! I just wish I had your skills! See you at the Games! Thanks again!
  14. Your the person who I need to talk to. I want to take pictures of our team also. I need some advice on what merchandise to start with. I have between $300 to $500 to spend on a digital camera (the prices are starting to come down). I am using one now but it blurs on action. I cannot very well yell out on the field "HOLD THAT SPOT!" CLICK! LOL Can you recommend a good starter camera that won't blur out so easy on actions and good to use at night games in my price range? I appreciate the help. Thanks!
  15. So true! I was just home a week ago (washington/idaho area) and football is ok but its not played with so much as heart as here. I see how fortunate these players are to be playing and so many people doing for them. Up there they are striving for their kids to be 'politically correct' rather than leave the politics to the adults and enjoy this time in their lives-- your only a kid once and you only get to play high school football 4 years! Boys! Have the time of your life and relish every minute of it! But remember its ok to stretch a hand out and help your opposing team player up- he is giving his all too. My husband's family is from the good 'ol south, and I thank God I can raise my boys here! God's Country! Football Country! LOL Again-- Good luck EVERYONE! Nothing set in stone until it's done!
