  1. For us old folks who remember the good times of Hickman Co. football, we remember what a rivalry this is. Who wins this one?
  2. I saw it and personally thought both teams looked good, Hickman County looked much improved both physically (weight room) and in the speed catagorie. Overall I thought Hickman Co. was a better team. They eat up most of the 15 min. quarters and were leading in the third and fixing to score again when their RB fumbled and MJ scooped and scored. Mj looked good throwing the ball and thats how they scored, big plays. Don't know who that receiver was but he was fast and big. They were playing 15 min quarters and i'll guarantee you Hickman co. had close to double the snaps of MJ. They were very strong up front and much more physical. Defensively both teams have some work to do, but for us I thought we looked real good against the run but gave up two big plays in the secondary. I may be wrong but it looked like we two platooned. MJ looks like they have some good athletes. Coach Perry will have that place rolling in no time.
  3. From what I saw last year, if you take away Hillboro the rest of the region is very beatable.
  4. Isn't Mt. Juliet scrimmaging Hickman Co. in May? That would be a great test for the dawgs.
  5. Some rumors going around here big time. I'll be keeping a watch on this one close since we might be dropping down to that region in 2007.
  6. yep, and you have to wonder why it always seems to happen at certain schools. It can't be just coincidence.
  7. is there any more news
  8. I feel your pain brother. We had the same problem here in Hickman Co. It couldn't have gotten any lower than it had been for the last 3-4 years. Any coach coming into a situation like this better have some energy and a vision because there is a reason things have gotten as bad as they have and he'll find out more and more the longer he is there. Its usually not the players fault but a lack of support from the top or they put the coach in an unwinable situation. He'd better be able to bring in his own staff or at least another coach or two. The new coach has got to try and fit into the community and become visable. He's got to talk up the program and rally the community. I almost feel like you have to hire a guy who is looking for a shot and has blinders on. They've got to be cocky (in a good way) and believe in themselves and there ability to do the impossible. They've got to be able to get the kids excited. This requires they have the mouth of a used car salesman. They've got to be an extrovert and not care what other folks think. Because he's gonna hear how crazy he is for taking your coaching job. If you can find someone like that you'll be fine.
  9. Here's the way its gonna shake out. Huntingdon should win their last three games. If they stay healthy i don't think they'll have any problems until the third round. Then the real playoffs start. Huntingdon's defense is darn stout and that is what keeps them in ballgames against good teams. The biggest fear if your huntingdon is that your defense doesn't show up and you have to outscore a quality opponent, then you've got problems. I think it'll come down to Huntingdon - Milan for the west representitive.
  10. Whoa, don't get your panties in a wad. I'm not running any coaches down, but since you brought it up...... why would we give these coaches any different treatment than we've given the others for the past twenty year? Its our tradition to blister the coaches and second guess everything thats done from the bleachers and the coffee shop the next morning. Oh, and tough schedule, well you'd better do your research on that one.
  11. I"ll hold my judgement until further evaluation thank you.
