  1. How is Karns doing? Were they able to sustain their program when the really talented class left?
  2. I was surfing tonight between football games and wondered how Anderson County was doing. Hopi, or anyone, I haven't seen many posts. I assume with all of the athletes that they are doing well in the district. I was in around Thanksgiving and they were undefeated. A friend of mine said he thought they would finish behind OR and maybe Powell, but had an outside shot at making the state playoffs. I heard they had several big girls, and most of their team back from last year. Any news would be nice up here in the frozen Tundra where there has been at LEAST 1 foot of FROZEN snow on the ground since before Christmas!!!!
  3. Please, AC beating Clinton is never a BIG win. This has never been a rivalry to AC. AC always beats Clinton. This is sort of like Vanderbilt and UT. The game is a HUGE game for Clinton, usually a Homecoming game for AC. Clinton had a great season this year, much like when they had Witt and made it to the clinic bowl. That is a once a 15 year type of team. AC has a program that is strong every year. Nothing for Clinton to be ashamed of this year, Coach S. has them playing hard, and hopefully they can keep of the momentum for next year and have another great season!!!
  4. Anderson County pays the highest coaching supplements in the state. According to the paper it is over 12,000. There would be alot of interest for this job, but there won't be a coaching change. Too much politics involved.
  5. Good points, but this coach is going to be here as long as he wants.
  6. Ashley Pittman would have been a definite college prospect, so would Leffew. Really not trying to stir anything up.
  7. Not really trying to stir anything up. Several players are not playing. The Dupree sisters are two of the top players in east tenn, they left the school because of bball. Pittman, Leffew, Sain and others also left. The talent is at AC. Not trying to "stir" anything up.
  8. They can't be that bad. Talent wise the school is loaded. My friends back home question the way the talent is being used. I really thought they would win at least 20 this year. Politics plays alot in the girls basketball decision.
  9. Does AC have a chance to win anymore games this year? With all of the talent they have this has to be the most disappointing team in East Tenn.
  10. Does anybody know what AC's record number of losses is?
  11. I have been traveling for the holidays and the news up here is sparce. Can anyone give me an update on how the AC girls are doing? I know they got off to a slow start, but according to their schedule they had several weak at the end of 06' start of 07.' Are they winning? Hopi, or others, any details would be good.
  12. The problem with rebuilding is that it usually starts with the coach, and that ain't gonna happen.
  13. Maybe we will get 20 wins in the NEXT 4 years.
  14. My friend at 0-10 it is a long season NOW!
  15. Hopi, did Anderson County win last night? What was the score and who played well.
  16. Makes me want a good ole Cheddy right now! Jack Sparrow, your post made me dry swallow my sausage biscuit!~ Hopi, does Anderson County have any more games before the new year? If AC goes winless before Jan 1, has this EVER happened at Anderson County before?
  17. Hey Pats! Great job at state. also, I saw where Wolf made Prep Extra first team. How does Catholic basketball stack up? I am getting slammed on here for questioning how a school with so many athletes is going to go winless in Nov AND Dec. Hopi, does no one question why 33 girls have quit. Does anybody stay four years?
  18. Rachel Templin is currently playing division 1 volleyball. Lori Purkey went to a D-1 school before transferring to work on pre-med. Amy Eckerly also had D-1 offers but chose to stay at home. Those girls graduated in 03. Mai Ferry had a D-1 offer but chose to play close to home, she graduated in 05, which was when my daughter graduated. And yes, there are D-1 prospects there now. The Sain girl is a definite D-1 player, and may be the best soph in the state. Likewise, Pittman and Hopi's daughter could play D-1. Bollinger and Dew will also play college. As far as how tough is it to get to state, that shows your ignorance. AC finished third at state, Catholic, who is in their district finished second. CAK (who had Catholic on the ropes for a first round district knock-out and Stone Memorial make it the toughest volleyball district in the state for A/AA. Also, unlike basketball, only 2 teams go from the district to the region, where AC had to beat a powerful Seymour team which had only lost 3 matches all year. They did all of this with a freshman MB who had never played replacing 6'4" All Region Faith Dupree and a soph MB that had never played replacing 6' Emily Dupree who was the best returning player. This loss hurt the volleyball team worse than basketball because they also lost to graduation two other front row players Brittany Carter who is playing in college, and 6' Megan Seiber who could have played in college. The volleyball was much younger than the basketball team, and they made their 9th straight trip to state, and made their 7th final four in 9 years. The difference is coaching. Anderson County IS loaded with athletes. There is no way AC should be winless at this point in the season. To be fair I don't live there anymore, but my daughter goes to college in TN, and I visit and have friends and family there. Don't attck the girls on the basketball team, because they ARE talented. They will win games. I am done with this thread. Good luck girls, I believe in you!
  19. Wow, with what they had returning I really expected them to win 20 games and compete for the region title. I am a little red faced.
  20. With the athletes AC has surely they will win alot more games than just Kingston?
  21. your kidding! So we are still winless?
  22. How did AC do against CAK last night?
  23. I disagree, AC has great athletes! I will admit that we are obviously not playing up to our potential, but it has nothing to do with the girls. Hopi has answered my question as to why.
