  1. I could have sworn the Alcoa fans said they would give credit where credit is due. I thought they said on this thread that they did not like people making excuses about lack of execution. I could have sworn that Alcoa fans said it would not be lack of execution but because the opposing team had something to do with it. Milan fans get ready for some of these excuses Saturday morning. I noticed that you didn't include my next line in your singled out bold highlighting of my post. I pointed out that a lot of their lack of execution was due to Loudon's physical play. So quick to jump....Plus the yardage at that point in the game indicates that Alcoa was able to move the ball effectively. You all are just looking for something to whine about.... Yes, I noticed your meaningless back handed compliment. Compliments like that are not really compliments. "They played well, but..." Yeah that is a real compliment. Can't wait to see those on Sat. To say a team's physical play caused Alcoa some problems IS A COMPLIMENT. Shows you don't understand nor realize just how physical Alcoa is and Loudon (woops, another back handed compliment). Compliments are not really compliments Interesting logic. They are not really compliments when you preface them with statements like we could have played better or we did not execute. It will be the same kind of compliments you give out on Saturday morning after shocks you guys. It's almost like talking to a brick wall....they didn't execute as normal because of how Loudon was playing them.....how much more complimentary can you be?????????????? A lack of execution can be because of different factors. One factor was Loudon's physical play, but it wasn't the only factor. If you want to define that as a backhanded compliment go ahead. I'll call it what it is...the truth since I saw it I know.

  3. Bad news for Milan....Alcoa has not lost on artificial turf since 1988.
  4. They limited Alcoa to 3-5 yard gains instead of 7-10 yard gains. But....the score was a little misleading. Up to that point Alcoa had a dropped TD pass, 2 ints, and a failed 4th down conversion on the 12 or 15. There were probably 3-4 trips inside the 20 where they didn't score. It's not that Loudon was shutting them down, Alcoa didn't execute once they got there (very unusual). But a lot of that was due to the physical play of Loudon and their discipline on defense. Here's the thing with Alcoa that you will discover on Friday. They will take 6-8 minutes off the clock on a long drive. They play clock control on offense; not b/c they are afraid of the other teams offense but b/c this is their strategy....Keep their offense on the field the whole game. This happened a couple of times against Loudon but on those drives they didn't get any points. The yardage is lopsided but the score seems lower. For example in the 1st game vs CAK they outgained them 410-99, but the score was 24-7. Seems close....but Alcoa took at least 5 mins off the clock each time they had the ball. This has happened all year. But there is no question who is in control of the game. I could have sworn the Alcoa fans said they would give credit where credit is due. 5. Unlike you I will show class. And your right my multiple degrees have served me well.
  6. That is one of my biggest concerns. Your lines are your strong points and it will be a big challenge for the Dawgs in the trenches to go toe-to-toe with you guys. Sounds like on offense you guys just load up with Robinson and the FB in the backfield clearing holes for Toney? What is the fewest yards Alcoa has rushed for all year? I agree about the passing - you guys just aren't gonna throw it a lot. I know Rankin will have his team ready but I gotta believe in my Dawgs this year. Remember, this is the year of the Dawg!! They just line up and come right at you on offense. In your face football. Toney is typically in the backfield, although you will see him lined up in different places. Our FB Tyson can run it. But he is a beast of a blocker. Not sure what the total was for the fewest rushing yards but certain that it was over 200. Alcoa has rushed for over 400 yards many times this year. 454 against Maryville (that is a stat I will never forget) and 400+ on Elizabethton. They don't throw it alot....but that doesn't mean they can't.
  7. Something Milan can not do...............stop Alcoa's run game! LOL you've got to be kidding me. Alcoa will not run over Milan. Not a CHANCE. #19=Superman 14 other teams including Maryville have said the same thing.
  8. Bring it on...in case you don't know we have KY commit as well. We have a JR DL that I guarantee will be better than Williamson; if he's not already.
  9. I hate to spoil your dream....but Alcoa didn't execute that well either last year and still won by 2 TD's. Could it be b/c of the team they were playing???? Of course you will say yes....you must also consider the fact that the reason why Milan didn't execute as well as you would hope is b/c of the team they were playing.
  10. They limited Alcoa to 3-5 yard gains instead of 7-10 yard gains. But....the score was a little misleading. 11. Well...come next football season Kentucky will have 3 former Alcoa players and Tennessee will have 1. Kiff had better even that out.
  12. Again my point is missed. Even though I throw out stats, it proves nothing one way or another, but I will so you will feel better. In 14 games this year, Milan has given up 140 points. That is 10 points a game. We have scored 549 points in 14 games. That is 39.2 points per game. Our weakness if we have one, is against the passing game. However, I believe of all these teams we are talking about, all are run 1st teams. Against the run Milan gave up 1511 rushing yards on 434 attempts. That is just over 3 yards per carry that we are giving up. Milan is also 28-1 in the last 2 years. Our average margin of victory is 29 points. Shows you don't know CAK, they are a pass oriented offense.
  13. blah blah blah. Could you define a holding penalty for me? You are asking me this question, why????? Because I am female? Get over yourself, I have a right to an opinion, just like you do. I at least give mine with a little tact. Now, I simply think a great deal of both the Loudon and CAK programs. They are getting better and stronger year over year because they play some tough teams and don't make excuses for losses. They tighten their britches and keep on working hard with grit and determination. No, I don't ask that question because you are a female and I resent the fact that you think that way about someone you have never met. I ask that because your posts sound like someone that does not really know what they are talking about. Why do you think they would win? What info do you have? What is it about Milan that makes you think that they are inferior to Louden and CAK? At least back up your statement. I don't think you can back up your statement. I don't think you have done any research on any of these teams. You are the fan that complains about what happens in the game because you don't know what is going on but you want to look like you do. The sad thing is that by acting that way, everyone sees that you in fact don't know what you are talking about. And have you done any research on Loudon and CAK that would explain to all of us why Milan would not lose to either of them? In case you don't know...CAK had 2 losses both to Alcoa and Loudon had 3 losses; 2 to Alcoa and 1 to CAK. Common factor is that Alcoa topped them both but that when playing either outside their district or against bigger classifications they won every game. I did not say that Milan would beat them or that Milan was better. I said that for a person to say that, they would need some kind of statistical evidence for it to be in any way objective. You guys are calling Milan fans cocky, but all of you from east Tennessee seem to be saying a lot of cocky things that can't be backed up period. How can you say that just because Louden and CAK only lose to Alcoa that Milan would lose to Louden and Alcoa. Don't forget, the only team we have lost to in the past two years is Alcoa also. Why is it a defense of how good you guys are, but not for Milan. I didn't say they would beat you. I asked you to give us something to show that they wouldn't beat you.
  14. How did this become a Huntingdon thread? I remember the game well....Alcoa won 52-41. I also remember the fact that none of the current players were on that team You are right, that Alcoa team was a great team but it was not their best team...many of those guys were young at the time. That team had a lot of heart and defiance and set the foundation for what is here today. Yeah they ran into Huntingdon and they also knocked them over.

  16. Historical numbers for the game. Overall Alcoa is 587-269-21, Milan is 572-313-16. This decade Alcoa is 123-19, Milan is 107-26. Since 2004 Alcoa is 83-6, Milan is 65-17. Alcoa has been to the semi finals every year except 02. Of their 6 losses since '04 all but 1 have been to Maryville. So...if you take Maryville off their schedule Alcoa is 82-1 since 2004 and that loss came to Fulton who later won the 3A state title with Dennis Rogan. Milan is proud of their 14-0 record this year....why don't you guys play Riverdale, Oakland, or some other bigger 5A or 6A school that is the equivalent (at least in theory) to a Maryville??????
  17. I'll be your huckleberry. You guys are rated #42... even better. Looks that much better for us when you fall. You guys have a good team and have had for quiet some time. Maryville is also good. But like everything else, all good things must come to end. Loudon isn't that great, CAK isn't that great. They are good, but not great. East TN football in general isn't great. Your successes over the past few years have been better than Milan for several years, but there was a time not very long ago that the Milan area had several teams in the top ten in multiple classifications. And the last time I checked Maryville got beat last year. So you just keep playing with your pistols. We are taking dead aim. You're right Maryville lost last year, but so did Milan and who to??? The F5. unapproved website also has Maryville @ #59 in America. Still looking for Milan on that list.....hmmm.....We don't care about being in the top ten in our classification, we care about being #1 at the end. You can't argue with tradition and ours is better than yours.
  18. Blount County.......... I love it! you guys bust Alcoa chops about out of district players, but Milan has the SAME thing! You'll need another excuse now............ No we don't. Come find one. The bottom line is Alcoa would still have won some state championships with "home grown" kids but to say you could win 5 straight with "home grown" kids is comical and frankly impossible. I'm assuming you know the addresses of all the Alcoa players. Everyone behave, he works for the FBI The truth that you don't want to admit is that Alcoa's program; just like Maryville's is homegrown and our homegrown is better than yours.
  19. This thread has me rolling From listening to Milan fans you would think they beat Alcoa last year. Listing all your playoff appearances, semi-finals, championships, and runner-ups State championships: Alcoa 10, Milan 4 (that's more than double). I'll give you credit you do have more runner ups than we do When we get there we win and we get there more than you do. We also have more semi-final appearances than you and more play-off appearances than you. Not my opinion on any of this, just plain facts. And the fact is that Alcoa is ranked #42 in the nation according to one poll.....where is Milan? I want someone that has the guts to argue with this statement.....the best football in TN is in Blount County.
  20. How bout the loser programs in the sorry middle and west? Keep dreaming that you are on the same level as Alcoa and Maryville.
  21. I've seen both teams this year!(Alcoa twice & Milan twice) Milan is better than last year and Alcoa looked as good as they were last year. That's why they are playing each other again this year. They both have good programs & KNOW HOW TO WIN. Knowing how is just part of it. Action speaks louder than the words written on these message boards. I also want to see Milan stop the mighty Alcoa. GO DAWGS....MOVE THOSE CHAINS!!!!!!!!!!! I've seen Alcoa 13 times this year and 12 times last year. No doubt....the offense has improved vastly from a year ago. The defense is better than ever. Alcoa's scoring numbers might be a little down but that's because they intentionally play clock control. Milan thinks they know how to win, Alcoa knows they know how to win (27 game winning streak and 5 straight titles).
  22. They wore Maryville down and Maryville doesn't have anyone who goes both ways. Coleman hasn't faced an O line like Alcoa's this year either.
  23. No doubt your D-line is good, but I was specifically talking about your qb, Toney, Tyler, and your fullback which go both ways. Tyler has been used more on defense in some games. They tend to rest him in games where they feel they need him the most. The fullback Tyson....normally doesn't play on defense unless there is an injury. Warren sometimes plays FB and he is a beast on the DL. The QB never leaves the field (he's not going to wear down, he's done this all year). Toney goes both ways but he won't wear down (he gets 15-20 carries per game consistently).
  24. I am sure that your info is correct. If it is that means Milan's opponents have played a combined 16 more games than Alcoa's opponents. How is that possible being as everyone plays 10 regular season games? It must mean that Milan either a)played more playoff teams, Milan's opponents went farther in the playoffs, or c) all of the above. I believe c might actually be the answer. Not so fast with your comeback. Do research before you reply. The reason for more games from milan opponents is because Alcoa's record does not include the teams they played 2x (on 2 occasions). Since you are so fast to argue for Milan, let me include those games. That would make Alcoa's opponent's record 112-57. Geeze....I was trying to give you the advantage.
