This is the problem with TSSAA- one of the reasons I no longer have anything to do with it- as well as why I personally hope that TSSAA acts according to this problem in dealing with Temple. This entire temple situation if TSSAA handels it the way they have treated and handled everything in the past could cause a MAJOR uprising by private schools...which would hurt the TSSAA...I personally think TSSAA knows this and could be the reason they are "lenient" with Temple... however that would only infuriate the publics even more...so Catch 22 for TSSAA- they better weigh the pros and cons of all their possible choices....and they better think longterm affects...

Wadley quit after 25+ years at temple b/c they were paying him double+ what he was making at temple- and he would have less responsibilities. Skogen left because of the exact same reasons that kell quit- it was unfair to the kids- they could not be competitive and pretty soon kids are going to get hurt. (to bad people didn't listen to skogen last year)Kell was actually begged to remain on staff because it showed support to the kids, and didn't "look as bad" for the school- as stepping down-- would, and did. Chastain was fired for lying to the administration about things- several times.... Nice try reading "between the lines" most people use that phrase as a good excuse to make things up, gossip, and slander...

This is why the appeal WILL fly....Temple has discovered payment from chastain for the first bill. They have it on file and recorded it correctly (can you believe that). The problem is that was the only one....so hypothetically if the first billing was in september and chastain payed that bill but failed to pay the 2nd one....Temple might have possibly been done with football already so as not jeopardizing anything.. Zone....there is actually a 60-90 day rule on receiving payment it is not just 60-taydizzle got that right....so he paid the first bill and had 90 days to pay the second before his son was inelligible...and I believe if I have done the math right...temple had gotten beat by FCS during that second 90 day pay period....

1. Coach Skogen had been the assistant varsity and head jv coach for for 7 years being paid $0. 2. Coach Skogen had been co-head middle school football coach for 1 year being paid $0. 3. Coach Skogen had been co-head varsity footbal coach for 3 years being paid $0. 4. TN temple is around 3,500 a year and their is a sizeable discount at that school for a second child enrolled. 5. That second child was there for only a semester before going to McCallie... 6. Coach skogen probably was paid AT THE MOST (3,500 + ((1/2)*3,500) =$5250 that is without the 2nd child discount 7. So he made $5250 for coaching basketball for 8 years and football for 5 years that comes out to $404 per sport per year.... I know of assistant basketball coaches in the chattanooga area who make 2,500 for one year.... He made (AT THE MOST) 5,250 dollars in one year for being the head basketball coach and head football coach....so what is the problem (other than he didn't get paid enough, just for that year).....was he not successful enough with what he had????

Good post- I think it is important that some of these respectable men are viewed, as mistake making men-like the rest of us...no blatant cheaters and liars...too bad their mistakes 1) are so public 2) affect so many people 3) get talked about on a message board...

Sorry I don't care if you were there...he didn't do tv interviews.... at least not the big games....SP trousdale etc...he talked to the team more than the other coaches after the game..he speaks for a living so he is probably used to it... Find me one interview from a tv station from this past year and I will give you my personal email address....you are wrong...

He had been the basketball assistant for 7 years BEFORE being named the head coach....might be the only thing temple didn't screw up...

Unfortunately you are wrong about almost everything- steve beard was the only coach who met with the refs- pre game rule meetings.....he got water dumped on him after the thrashing of SP- Beard was the one who was always interviewed after the game by TV and the like- he shook the head coaches hand first and foremost....Beard represented the team to receive the awards....everything....so again...people like you make things up and act like you are right just because you can hide behind a name....(I know this because I asked about it during temple's season...and a coach confirmed everything I just said).... your ignorance is only overcome by your supreme arrogance..

You can believe me or not....I don't care....I spoke with an ex-coach friend of mine who knows some people (being obscure is more fun)- The fines will be huge....will probably be covered....the sports programs will suffer so greatly however that Temple will probably leave TSSAA and go back to that christian leage- TACS or something like that.....that's my prediction.....I will say that I USED to work for TSSAA....

Just talked to a buddy of mine-Temple is done for- Not only will everything be stripped from this past season, but the fines could be so severe, and temple soooo not able to pay them, that the ENTIRE SCHOOL COULD CEASE TO EXIST...temple will probably be on probation in everything for at least 2 years....basketball players have said they are leaving as have a few football players....to Temple and her fans I say "You had a great run- sad to see certain people's names drug around on a board like this.....you kids were amazing with what you accomplished...if you want to blame anyone you blame the present administration and a lack of understanding of the rules....basically you screwed yourselves, but it was fun to watch that school in her prime....kids way to go...administration- go away..." the entire 2000's for Temple up until this point really seen like it should be in a movie....drama drama drama

Pretty sure it is chastain...who is lying....my sources told me that his lying is why he was fired.... He is bitter for being fired and trying to take the entire temple ship down with him....which I guess he might...

this is perfectly consistent with you as a poster and most everything else on here---people just make stuff up....good try though -i know alot because I know other coaches and some ex-coaches who are close to old templeites who keep with stuff- I have no authority no say and have never talked to a full-time temple employee or a tssaa employee for that matter

which is why I wish to protect the achievements of the kids...and most of those kids almost all- were seniors and left.....

ANd your an idiot too- first of all I am not your- I have no family connection to temple, never went there never even been to any place besides vance gym I live in knoxville I think the kdis know they kicked everyone' @$$ so it really doesn't matter that thye have a piece of fabric or hardware taken away now does it???? I propose a a new topic should be started, I might do it myself , for people to list whether or not they like the yankees, unless you have always been a fan you usually hate them...that is temple- except almost the antithesis because instead of having an unlimited budget (in the case of high school # of kids) they have barely over 100- so after you write whether or not you like the yankees count up how many times temple has beat you in the last decade....everyone on here has an agenda..... My agenda is to slap temple silly but don't ruin what a bunch of teenage kids managed to accomplish- your agendas are the following some-illogical bias others- pure hatred of private schools some-hatred of temple some hatred of skogens some-hatred mingled with confusion as to how a small school can whip your tails year in and year out so "they must be cheating" whatever it is everyone has approached this situation with a bias...no on NO ONE has remained purely justice or logic driven the only way you have is if you are not human....even hargis had a bias his was to sell papers and get people talking so he titles the top of the sports page with what name???
