  2. Whitehouse Leads the Tigers 49-28 in 4th Period Taken from our local radio station WJLE.com where you can also listen live to the TIGERS play on Friday night. The Whitehouse Blue Devils are leading the DeKalb County Tigers 49-28 in Smithville. The Tigers took the opening kick off but the drive stalled at the Whitehouse 34 yard line. After a Tiger punt, Whitehouse started their first offensive series on the Blue Devil 5 yard line and went 95 yards for a score. They capped the drive on a 42 yard touchdown pass play from quarterback Trox Greenwade to Chad Neal. Matthew Gossett converted on the P.A.T. and Whitehouse led 7-0 with 6:44 left in the first quarter. The score at the end of the first quarter was 7-0, Whitehouse. DeKalb County got on the scoreboard with 9:27 left in the second period on a 19 yard touchdown pass play from quarterback Hunter Poteete to Abram Edwards. Taylor converted on the P.A.T. to make the score 14-14. After the ensuing kick off, Whitehouse started the next drive on their own 38 yard line, but on the first play, Hunter Poteete picked off a Greenwade pass and returned it 40 yards to the endzone for a Tiger touchdown. Taylor converted on the P.A.T. and DeKalb County took their first lead of the game at 21-14. But the lead was short lived as Whitehouse got the ball back and moved quickly down field to tie the game again, on a 21 yard touchdown pass play from Greenwade to Matt Parker. 3. DEKALB 28 Pearl Cohn 6 FINAL SCORE!!! Yep, you read that correctly!
  4. DEKALB 21 PEARL COHN 0 HALF TIME SCORE!!
  5. There are a lot of boys on that team that deserve a lot of credit! Collier reminds me of Animal! Remember him from the muppets? He's just an animal when it comes to football! Try to tackle him and see what you get! Travon Johnson is awsome jumping and snatching that ball out of the air! How about that Roller kid? It takes 5 guys to get him down and he'll bust a line open for ya. Lester is pretty awesome too! The boys that play that line on both sides need a lot of credit. They are really strong and work really hard!
  6. 51 Station Camp 27 DeKalb County FINAL SCORE Incredible game. DeKalb fought hard!!
  7. HALFTIME SCORE Station Camp 23 DeKalb Co 13 There were a lot of boys who layed the foundation for this winning season. WJLE.COM listen live.
  8. DCHS Tigers could pull this off. It won't be easy but you can do it boys. We all know you can! This Tiger fan has faith in you. I've followed this program to long to give up now.
  9. It all starts with all4football, and backnblack, and InterestedObserver and the others that have all the answers, But Have No Clue What the Question Is!!! FORGOT a few didn't you?
  10. Howe did not quit. Griffin, the "back up QB" who is a jr., quit this week.
  11. What exactly has changed from when you call DeKalb a "horrible team" unti now? I'd like to know what has changed with the DeKalb Tigers.
  12. Muffin Man said it best. Don't let yourselves down! This is your game Tigers! YOUR Game! Play hard, play smart, remember good sportsmanship, play fair, you can and will come out on top. Keep your mouths shut and your mind on the prize! Best of luck Tigers!
  13. That's good to know. It's great news to hear they are building and looking and letting those young men gain some experience. Thanks for the info.
  14. If you were there I guess you would know. Maybe some of them aren't technically starters but play a great deal. Oh well, proud of the win anyway. Good job Tigers.
  15. Acutally football fan, my information says there were lots of starters playing. I talked to a parent this afternoon and they stated several 1st string played in that game. They said Tyler Griffin did a good job at QB and the line was pretty tough. They worked Poteete in and out as QB too. Not sure what CC had but they said it was a very physical and competitive "jv game". Wish I'd seen it.
  16. Heard they had a scrimmage monday, heard dekalb won. Anyone go? How was it?
  17. You are correct. Dekalb charges $6 and $4 for students.
  18. I never said the boys gave up nor did I say the boys lost the game. Absolutely not. Those young men played with all they had (all 15-18 that played). They were exhausted. Ask them, they'll tell you. There is no doubt what lost that game! It's like I said in an earlier post and like everyone was saying last night, you've got to work some fresh legs in and out and give those young men a chance to hydrate and recover. When the opposing team is running 6-8 men in and out the entire game and you may run 3-4 maybe? We could go on and on about what needs to be done at DCHS but it boils down to one major thing. This ain't Jr. Pro.
  19. I will stand up and say I was wrong for the H20 game. Coach Trapp, Coach Webb, and Equipment Manager Mr. Edwards were all that was on the field. Coach Trapp and Coach Rob were in the pressbox. All other Daddy's were coaching from the stands. I attended this game so I would have my facts straight. These young mean fought a hard fight, and played better. But by the 4th quarter, maybe even a little before, the boys physically gave out. They gave it all they had. These young men fought a good fight. I'm sure someone will share more specific details with you if you just ask.
  20. Go Tigers! Best of luck on this Friday night and all that follow. Be tough, have pride, work hard and stay in the game. Breath when you can and hit hard. It's there, you've just got to find it.
  21. Andy Collier is/has been on the field and I know what Mr. Howe does as well as the others who contribute to this team. My facts are straight. I would love to see an upset in Dekalbs favor too. That would be a sure way to get these young men up and at it after all the hard work they have put in. You can't take the fact that they are hard working and dedicated away from them. They have improved a great deal both mentally and physically.
  22. Rob Alexander is not the coordinator of anything. He's only in the press box helping coach Trapp on Friday Nights. Coach Trapp has Clarence Trapp, Kevin Young, Tad Webb, Doc Green, Randell Cantrell (father), Andy Collier (father), Clay Edwards (father) and of course Mr. Howe (grandfather) who heads up the posse. See a trend? Now, please explain how the assistants can be any better than the coach who leads them? dekalbcountyfootball.com
  23. There are other young men on that team that can catch and run. It's one mistake the coach continues to make. They seem to coach to one and play only a few. It's been going on for years. There are 55+ on the team. Play them! My suggestion would be to work in more men, fresh legs, if you will, like the teams they are playing do. These young men can't compete with teams who have full O and D teams, when they play both sides the entire game. And what's with the kick off return? Dead stop, let the ball bounce, then attempt to snatch and run? And not just once but over and over again. Kinks that should have been worked out by now. It's a hard transition and a totally different ball game between Jr. Pro and High School ball. A transition that is not being made smoothly.
  24. Question. So why could DeKalb not be a contender in all this? Can they not improve? Can they not be coached? Can they not be strong and have talent? I'm just curious why they can't be a contender. I understand the PC and WH for the most part, but why leave them out of the running? What does Macon have and what has Marshall done to be so improved?
