  1. This year I wore blue cleats, but last year I had bright neon pink cleats. That didn't make me the least bit of a girly girl. But as I recall our fans were mainly yelling at FRA's coach and at the referees. I didn't mean every single girl on FRA's team were girly girls. I was just stating that we aren't girly girls and that we don't wear ribbons in our hair. No pun intended. Just facts.
  2. Ah well excuse me for not being as experienced in soccer as you bucklateral, but I don't think Mia Hamm wore a ribbon in her hair and isn't a girly-girl either. Hum, she was pretty aggressive too. Maybe she should have quit soccer a lot sooner and played women's rugby. Quite a few high school soccer girls play other sports I'd imagine. But in my opinion, if everyone played the exact same type of soccer, well any sport for that matter, it would be pretty boring. England is the one team that never passes it back to their goalie. A lot of other teams do. If everyone played the exact same game then it'd be too predictable. Oh and more about the rugby comment, remember Chuckey-Doak is a small county school. We just got soccer 7 years ago. Rugby is way out of the picture for us. So looks like we'll stick to our aggressive play of soccer. Along with us being a small school, we have to work very hard for everything we get. We worked hard from April until we lost Thursday. Over the summer we had 8 a.m.-3 p.m. practices. At the state tourney on wednesday we had practice from 7:30-9 that morning, and Thursday we had it from 9:30 -11 in the morning. We have to work hard. We get nothing handed to us. We love the game and are willing to work hard to win. That should be enough.
  3. First of all clutz, I wasn't critizing Greeneville High. I know they are in a much tougher division, but they do have more students than we do. So they obviously belong in AAA or they wouldn't be in it. I was not trying to put down GHS at all. They are a very good team. I was just stating the facts. But see I'm a senior this year anyway so who they play next year or if we'd get moved up to AAA doesn't really effect me. So you couldn't see if I could "run with the big dogs one season" Too bad. If only I was a junior..... Thank you Oldleadfoot for talking about how the refs were calling. I didnt know if we were the only ones who thought that, but I couldnt see how others wouldn't be able to. I thought it was pretty obivous. But flashgordon didn't blink and miss FRA's fouling, he just didn't want to admit it because he already had his assumptions and pessimistic outlook about us. Hoya I didn't mean everybody. Thanks for being on our side. Tiff good luck next season. Get back to the state tourney and give our critics on here more to talk about.
  4. We have always played very aggressive style of soccer ever since we started the program. None of us are the prissy type of girls with ribbons in our hair. We have no one to impress, and we are very proud of our accomplishments this year. It may not meet up to your alls standards, but going along with what I previously said others opinions does not matter much to us at all. Our county is very proud of what we've done and that's all we need. We are the first soccer team in our county including AAA Greeneville High to ever make it to state. We aren't like FRA and are in state every year almost. So I guess us being a small public school and making it to state earns everybody the right to bad mouth us freely, apparently. FRA is a very good team. The only team that was capable of beating us that we played just so happened to be the best team in the state. So we don't hang our heads for losing to them. But Oldleadfoot is right. Most of us go on to play another sport. Actually we've been conditioning for basketball ever since school started. Basketball conditioning during fourth period and then we'd go straight to soccer practice. Monday we have basketball at 10 in the morning and our soccer just ended yesterday. But thanks Oldleadfoot for that post. You are one of the few how can come off their high horse and say something good about us. And Hoya is right in saying that none of us play for a club team. One girl on our team is on a traveling soccer team, but thats it. She is a junior and plays mid field. But again for the aggresivness we displayed in the semi-finals, we were slightly more physical than the FRA girly-girls, but we got fouled quite a few times too. I guess no one saw that, especially not the referees. We give what we get plus some. We may have been out skilled, but not out hustled and there isn't a team in the state as physical as we are. You all may say that's not a good thing to be, but soccer is a contact sport.
  5. Well although I would absolutely love to be as rude as some of you, I will refrain because I am better than that. But we all know the teams at state are going to be really good. As they should be. We haven't had a soccer program very long, but I believe we are doing pretty good for the lack of experience. And almost everyone on our team doesn't even play soccer until their freshman year. We are very proud of our accomplishments since we are a "little country" team that had such a "cream puff schedule". rankings are cool and all but why you have a good team that's not been ranked or noticed coming through beating everyone...don't quote ranks and think that's how the game will be played...furthermore we would not have made it this far if we were "decent" being first in your region means that you've beatin everyone...thus far. But oh well we will see you all in Chattanooga Wednesday cuz we did beat Kingston today.
  6. The first half Kingston outshot us 3-0. But in the second half Kingston only had possession of the ball for 5-10 minutes. I'm not sure about the shots for the second half though. But the goal, I headed the ball to Pricilla Riddle. Their goalie put her arms up to get it and Pricilla Riddle jumped up and headed it into the goal. The goal came with about 15 minutes to go in the game. Kingston is a very good team, but in the second half they didn't do much of anything.
  7. Thanks. Next I'm pretty sure we have Gatlinburg Pittman Thursday.
  8. We have to play some weaker teams such as the ones in our district. That is unavoidable. Coach Ricker does schedule us harder games such as tennesse high and sullivan...ah I forget which sullivan we played. But she has tried to schedule more tougher teams, but we have to play what we have to play. And the University High game, we were having team problems, but we are back to ourself. We are district champs. One championship down, two to go. For all you critics you'll see how we do. And by the way we have an excellent coach
