  1. None. But you missed my point. My guy did not get nominated either. My point was its too late to get him as a Mr. Football finalist. From the little I found out about him, I think Cates deserved to be nominated but just like my guy, he wasn't and nothing I can do now will change that. End of story.
  2. I disagree that ND would not want to play AE and Catholic once because in the case of Catholic ND use to play them every year. My comment about playing a team twice in one year. Catholic crushed ND at ND last year in the regular season but ND then knocked off Catholic in the playoffs. In the first matchup ND was nervous but the second time ND players knew their opponent and won. That is all I'm saying.
  3. Sorry. I guess I misunderstood the " I changed it just for you" part of the comment as sarcasm. My mistake.
  4. Agree. The point about playing Catholic and LA twice is that the players have already tested themselves against them and so no mystery. It helps confidence alot especially since both first games were close.
  5. For all those pushing for Cates, save your breath. He was not nominated even though he probably deserved to be. The backs for 3A are from Mitchell, Fulton, and White House.
  6. For those who keep talking about your tough schedule I will make the following observations. Notre Dame strength of schedule + success is #1 while Livingston Academy's is #10 which means while LA played a tougher schedule as is often being pointed out, they were not as successful. Second, ND had to beat three teams from another region in the playoffs whose strength of schedule were 7(Macon), 46(Pearl Cohn), and 11 (White House). LA played teams in the playoffs whose strength of schedule were 57 (Carter), 8 (Austin-East), and 22 (Knox. Catholic) and it might be pointed that it was the second time this season that LA played Austin-East and Knox. Catholic. I am not impressed with strength of schedule rankings as Sequoyah, a 1-9 team was #15 in AAAand Carter, a team you defeated by 3 points in the first round was #57. The game will be played on Friday by two teams who have worked hard to reach this point. Numbers only matter on the scoreboard at the end of the game.
  7. Had to leave for a while. Nice to see you can take being corrected when you are wrong with such maturity. I didn't post it wrong, you did.
  8. Sorry I left Carter off Knox. Carter**9-2AAA 57 W 27-24

  10. Please check your math. ND Points allowed 69 which is 5.3 points per game.
  11. Tough team, Livingston Academy. Can't find any information on them except that Cates is exceptional qnd what I can find in news articles. Looking for more information.
  12. ND did not underestimate White House. Two long first half dives that ended in interceptions by White House (one an overthrow and one tipped) means good plays by White House. A botched kickoff and another overthrow interception leading to two offensive drives beginning 15 yards from the endzone again mean good football play and not overconfidence. ND did not overlook White House. I would say White House came to play.
  13. Sorry meant LA vs ND site. Got Brain Dead for a minute. I was reading the DL vs Lex site earlier amd mixed initials.
  14. That was my impression too. If you find any specific information would you post it on the DL vs ND thread?
  15. I don't know only because I can't find any information on them. That said they were the fourth seed out of very tough region and beat the nuber two and one seeds in the playoffs. That alone tells me they are very good. I know Notre Dame expects them to be very tough and expects the game to be a battle.
  16. I left the board to go to bed and so missed your comment. If you go back and read my 2 line comment I said the officials were from Knoxville and had seen neither team and that I had talked to someone from White House that thought the officials were bad to Both teams. If you are going to comment on my reply then please comment on my reply and not crediting me with someone else's. I left aot unsaid to that individual that posted his comment because there is no point arguing with a wall. He never say any of his sides holding penalities or late hits that were not called. He only saw penalities not called on the other tea, Notre Dame. It was probably not the best officiating job I have seen but it was definitly not biased one way.
  17. The officials are out of Knoxville and have seen neither team. I talked to one of your people from White House and he thought the officials were bad to both teams. The only biased person I see is you but your supposed to be.
  18. I have a question. I say a 15 yard, person foul penality called in a game. It was a face mask penality. The officials marked off 15 yards and since it was 1 yard short of a first down left it third down. I thought a personal foul face mask penality was an automatic first down. Can anybody clarify for me?
  19. I did not see much about Pearl Cohn last week. Can anybody give some input now?
  20. Devin Cauthorne of Notre Dame. 1600+ yards rushing and also starts on defense.
  21. I remember when the format changed and I understood it was in response to the travel costs and travel time complaints from coaches and school administrators.
  22. The only problem I have is that all regions are not created equal so this plan would not necessarily guarentee no blowouts. Also there have been a number of cases where a lower seed advances over a higher seed.
  23. So be it. But they are not trap plays or pass plays or buck sweeps. the formation is not designed to spread out the defense, etc. I was involved in a game as a coach where a guard was put in as the running back and he scored a 55 yord touchdown. So you are right it can happen. But 95 % of the Dive plays were stopped and the clock only stopped when the chains were moved which was usually about every three plays and then restarted before the snap. A dropped pass as you know stopps the clock and if I read correctly they did drop some in the second half.
  24. Sorry to be so late in replying but take your own advice. I never said you justified the score. And I never said for the kids to "lay down". I assumed you knew what I meant by Dive play which is simply the QB handing off to a running back and the line blocking straight ahead and let the defense deal with it. My experience in this area was as a coach and not a player although I dead play for many years.
