"I just don't get it" would be the best way to describe my Vikings. They played two great games in close losses against Van buren and Eagleville and then just totally did not show up to play Forrest. The problem with the Vikings is not coaching or effort. The problem is simple, we cant throw in the ocean from outside. Tonight we play our biggest rival in what will be a packed house. Everyone has this one marked on thier calender for several reasons. Here is what I think of the outcome. I have no doubt we will defend well against Cascade. The outcome will be decided upon whether or not we can hit some outside shots tonight. If we do we will win if we dont we will lose and possibly bad. This is a good team that a needs a big win to give them some confidence going into post-season play.

I know I am late but it is time for my Gold ball piks for this season. I went 0-3 last year and 0-6 in the past two but.......................... I know I got at least one lock this year.... Here they are and my Silver ball picks which may not even be possible but I will put my opinion of the 2nd best team A................Jackson County- here is the pick that will break for 0-6 streak. I like Wayne County for the Silver AA..............Marshal County- Went deep last year and have the expierience to go all the way this year. I like Upperman for the Silver AAA............Shelbyville- I pick them every year and if they do not win it this year it could be a long time before there a contender again. I like Wilson Central for the Silver. Well let the bashing begin.......................

I was at the game also and to say he was ten feet out is simply not true. I was directly behind him and in no way was he ever out of control (it is not his character) If you dont believe me ask the AD at Eagleville he told me he was no more than 4 boards on the court during a dead ball. He would not have gotten a "T" in any other game and he would not have gotten one by any other official in state.

yes Lenker and Lillard and the guard named Jimbo all played well there is no doubt that Eagleville is a good team.

First of all let me say that Eagleville beat us. They have a good team as usual and I am not here to make any excuses as far as the loss goes. Eagleville showed great sportsmanship and they have a great program. Now................................................. Tonight what I saw was the most obvious display of retaliation in the history of High School Basketball. Three years ago a certain official was calling a game in our gym when he went to the score table to report a foul he caused a huge scene and threatened to throw our bookkeeper out of the game because "she made a face at me" I know this is funny but it is true. The score keeper in quiestion is a great lady and everyone that knows her knew that this was ridicolous to say the least. Anyway after he threatened to throw her out and pretty much embarrassed her in front of everyone the administration at Community wrote a letter to TSSAA that this official could not come back to our gym again and if he did he would be arrested for tresspassing. Needless to say we have not seen him in a long time. Well tonight he is the head official of our game at Eagleville. (BTW this is the same official that threw Coach Spencer from Cascade out of the game at Eagleville last Friday night and then during the boys game stopped play and told him he has to leave the gym and could not be in the gym to watch the boys game) Tonight during a dead ball our coach stepped one foot onto the floor and said "Zack guard your man" He was speaking to a player on our team and there was not even a qiustionable call at the time and play was stopped. The official in qiustion proceeded to call a "T" on coach Bryant for being out of the box. I have been going to High School games for years and I have never seen a worse "T" called in my life. Even Sweet Billy "T" the atheletic director at Eagleville told me it was a terrible cal and to tell Coach Bryant to keep coaching. There was alot more terrible calling that followed this but I am not going to even begin to talk about all that. Once again Eagleville beat us and they deserve the win. As far as Davis goes here is a lesson, TSSAA stands for Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association in other words we go to the games to see the High school kids play basketball and compete. The game is not about you the game is about the kids. The best official is the official that no one realizes is even there. He made the game all about him and not about the kids and that my friends is a shame. Keep your head up Vikings you went from down 20 to down 8 in the second half you never gave up and that was great to see. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I would like to know what folks think about Community versus Eagleville. I think we are going to have to play a near perfect game to win over there at the nicest gym in the state. BTW Eagleville has my favotire athletic director in the world. Sweet Billy "T" Good luck for both teams tommorow night

I agree Woodenfan we have a good man as our coach. The play you are talking about a VB pler dove on the floor and the coach called timeout to retain possesssion. Coach Bryant then turned to his team and said "Right there is why they are the number 1 team in the district and were not" you gotta love it. He is doing a great job and I think we will only get better

The Queens had a nice win tonight over a good Van Buren team and they did this with one of thier leading scorers not even dressed. I just wanted to give a shout out to coach Layne and the Queens for a job well done to a team that is only going to get better

well there is no doubt that Smith and Baker are the real deal and Van Buren is the best team I have seen yet. I think my Vikings played a decent game against them but got beat bad on the boards and we could not throw it in the ocean in the second half. However there is no way that anyone can say that Community is a cupcake this year.

I am only saying these picks as my opinion and in no way am I putting down anyones school because 9A is pretty much loaded this year (with the exception of Boyd) and anyone can beat anyone. With that said I say...... Eagleville over Cascade by 5 Commmunity over Van Buren by 2 (Now I know I am picking with my heart here but you should always pick your team to win. The truth is this game is going to let us know how competative we really are. I just hope were are in it.

if the scoreboard is correct the "boys from the mountain" beat Cascade. Everyone that keeps thinking that Community is not a contender for the District will know soon enough. Because the Vikings host Van Buren Friday night and Van Buren has beaten Forrest and Cascade. I say if the Vikings win that has to make them a contender right?

We have always been called Viqueens dont ask me but that is what we have always been! We are in 9a and as far as i know there is nothing to the rumor that we move to 10a Good luck this year and thanks for the info

I have not been postig here I just been attending games and watching the scoreboard and I know you all have been on the edge of your seats wanting my predictions. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> District 9. 1. Forrest - Should be the team to beat but will not go undefeated in district play 2. Van Buren - It is hard to win at thier place especially in a gym with 1 100 Watt bulb lighting the whole place. I look for them to beat Forrest at home. 3. Community - Good team that is still young coming off a 20 win season. Looking a little shaky early with two tough losses to Richland and Cornersville. Look for the Queens to get better and better under new Coach Allison Layne and dont forget they host the tourney this year. 4. M.T.C.S - I had these girls at 2 before tonight but if the scoreboard is correct they got beat pretty good by Cornersville. District 10 1. Richland - Glidden is the real deal. The only thing I seen that I did not like was when the game was well in hand against Community the coach continued to play Glidden padding her stats for Miss Basketball. I understand the concept but I would hate to see her get hurt in the 4th quarter up by 30 2. Cornersville- Landers is one of the best there is and after watching them last night you better be able to handle the ball when you play them. 3. Santa Fe- There big, strong and have decent guard play. This should be thier year and if they ever hit on all cilynders this team could move up. 4. Moore County- They are down a litle this year. Starting a couple of Freshman and an 8th grader but look out they will only get better and the next several years look bright down in Lynchburg.

Eagles, Once again we totaly agree. Mike Edmonson is a true friend of mine and I hate what happened I have spoke my peace about it and it is water under the bridge. Jace Bryant is the new man and he is doing an outstnding job. Tonight we lost by one point on the road at White house Heritage. Does anyone know how White house stacks up in thier district?

I totally agree with you Eagles!! However this team is playing hard and playing pressure D! I also understand that picking them to win the district is setting the bar a little too high but..... I am a Viking fan and you should always pick your team to win!!!!!!!
