Amen!! You are absolutely correct. MP always had good talent before Smith got there they just never had a coach that could coach it. I played against them before Smith got there and always believed that they would be good if they just had a coach. Smith was the right man for the job. A good coach can win with average to below average players; A bad coach can loose with a team of All-Americans. I would also agree with Burley, MC's talent isnt down. Its true when Mac was at MC the teams where contenders year end and year out. It wasnt because of great talent; the talent was average at best with a few exceptions every few years but the players bought into the system and believed in the head coach. Tradition can take a team far.
