  1. Just got a call from booster club VP. This game is cancelled due to the weather once again. Game has been rescheduled for Thursday 19th.
  2. I was at the game and didn't hear anyone boo either girl. As a matter of fact, both sides of the gym were on their feet to applaud both girls.
  3. It was announced on one of our local radio stations the Loretto/Marshall Co. game has been cancelled tonight due to weather. They said the game has been rescheduled for February 16th. Any more cancellations for tonight?
  4. It was announced on one of our local radio stations that the Loretto/Marshall Co. game has been cancelled tonight due to weather. They said the game has been rescheduled for February 16th. Any more cancellations for tonight?
  5. I've been known to have to eat some crow so a little fried chicken won't be a problem.
  6. Pageman, it's the mother hen syndrome. I don't think you're a bad driver it's just that old truck I worry about. I'll also be more than happy to cheer for your team just not when they're playing Loretto.
  7. Pageman, should be no surprise but I'm going with Loretto. Their bench is a little deeper and the team's perimeter shooting has only improved over the season. I do think it will be another great game to watch. Drive carefully and I'll see you at the game.
  8. Let's put the rumor mill to rest here and now. Jason had no choice but to take a 4th period class for graduation requirements. Unfortunately, that's also when the boy's team has practice. Jason and his dad went to the coach before season even started and explained what he had to do. His dad even told the coach they would understand if he didn't want Jason to play this year. It was agreed that he would take the class during the second half of the year. As I stated earlier, if this hadn't been discussed and agreed to before season even started, I might feel differently.
  9. Mas1821, I also know the reason and I disagree that the coach is doing what is right in this situation. Jason and his dad went to Coach Simbeck at the beginning of the year and explained his situation. It was agreed that he would do what needed to be done the second half of the season. I might feel differently if the coach had been caught off guard. The fact is he knew, he agreed to it, and he's punishing Jason for doing what has to be done.
  10. It will be good to see you there. I'm sure everyone understands your position and will support your decision.
  11. Pageman, I know Bagsby and Harmon are both juniors and excellent players. What colleges are looking at them?
  12. Good post Pageman. I couldn't agree with you more.
  13. The Lady Cats have been starting 2 seniors, 2 sophmores, and 1 freshman. It's unfortunate that teams have to go through rebuilding years but they do. It's just a fact of the game. Congratulations to Page on the win. 3Balla, those of us who live in the south end of the county know what it's like to have a struggling team. We're blessed with a talented team and should continue to be blessed for the next two seasons. After that, Loretto will hit a rebuilding period. I'm looking forward to seeing how these ladies continue to develop over the next two years.
  14. This won't be a district game for the Lady Mustangs but we would still be happy to take home a win. The Summertown team is to be commended. They played without a couple of girls who've had the flu. Corbin gave 100% on the floor. Tucker did a great job at point. She was fun to watch. This team never quit even when they were down by 18. It was good to see some outside shooting from Loretto. This team is capable of having a great year and so far has come out on the winning end of a few close ones. Keep up the good work.
  15. Krogers, we'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. I would never call you a liar. Not my style. Like I said, I have no doubt someone told you exactly what you said but I do doubt that whoever was feeding you this information was correct. Some folks just like to start trouble. What I saw was Kendrix trying to get position and over the back calls, not taking out Tyler's legs. Like I said, we'll just have to agree to disagree. Both teams played aggressive, bottom line.
  16. Tcross, both teams played aggressively and both teams left it on the court after the game. #10 for GCHS never let up, he was so close that he should have been able to tell you how many whiskers was on the chin, but that's what I liked about his style of playing. As I said earlier, Tyler was talking to one of the Loretto players after the game and told him that the bumping and such was just part of the game. If he can say that and tell that player good game, I don't see where anyone else should have a problem. It's a fact that the Loretto team struggles but what I do admire about them is the fact that they never quit. I don't see any reason to kick someone when they're down.
  17. Were we at the same game? I saw two things that was out of hand. Tyler getting frustrated and chunking the ball at a player and Casteel being called on a intentional foul. As discussed on a previous thread, Tyler did go down and turn an ankle. He wasn't intentionally pushed, shoved, or tripped. Tyler was double teamed and that's it. Krogers, I have more respect for your posts than this one. Come on, why would any coach tell fans if he planned on hurting a player. Just makes no sense. I'm not disputing that someone told you that, but I'm very much in doubt of it's validity. Tcross, you have the right to any opinion you want but the basketball gods don't shine on the same court forever. There will come a day when GCHS has to play without Smith and Shannon. That's not your only two players but they're a huge part of this team. I truly hope that when GCHS has to rebuild, and every team does sooner or later, that the people on this board will be kinder than you.
  18. Should be a good game to watch. If both teams are on it will be a fight to the finish.
  19. I'll have someone point you out at the Summertown game. What's your predictions for the game?
  20. The only uncle I know is Greg's brother who was a coach. Couldn't tell you the name though.
  21. You've seen me around. Maybe I'll introduce myself.
  22. Lawrence Co. - I believe I know who you are since you said Channing was your neice.
  23. Jana Cross is one of the best kids you'll ever meet. Everysport is right in that she is probably one of the most humblest players on the court. She works hard and deserves the attention and credit she is getting. If you sat down and talked to her, she would be the first to admit that she wouldn't be putting up the numbers she does if not for her teammates. I've only watched Loretto girls a couple of times this year but they have a good team and will continue to have a good team for the next couple of years.
  24. I watched this game very closely last night just because of all the hype. Tyler seemed to turn his ankle when he went down under the basket but no one intentionally pushed, shoved, or tripped him. I was surprised he didn't come out earlier but I'm not going to second guess the coach. I'm sure he had his reasons. Casteel and Tyler went after a ball which Tyler got. Casteel was guarding him close but again I saw nothing intentional. Let's face it, Casteel is just over 5' and with his hands as high as they go will reach Tyler's chin. Tyler was a little frustrated and he responded in the manner he did. He did get by with it though, no call from the ref. Loretto's coach wasn't arguing with Tyler, he was arguing with the ref and did get a technical. Tyler is a good kid with a great future. He spoke with a player after the game and told him that bumping and contact is part of the game and congratulated him on playing a good game. Both teams played a physical game and they left it on the court. Congratulations to Giles on the win. This was the first time I've seen you play this year. I have to say, I didn't know if you would be as good as last year but you are. If anything, you're a more athletic team. Best of luck the rest of the season. I still miss Eric Howard.
  25. I've seen threads wondering why Giles Co. gets no respect. One only has to be able to read to see the answer, it's attitude. You've been blessed with a good bunch a guys who excel in basketball. Why is it necessary to belittle teams on this board week after week? The game speaks for itself. I've watched and cheered for Giles Co. over the past few years. Eric Howard was one of my favorite players to watch. Giles Co. has a great team, a deep talent pool, and the ability to be a winning team for many years. I wish both teams a good game tonight. My prayer is that both sides (players, fans, parents, and coaches) will approach the game with positive attitudes, play to the best of their abilities, and when it's said and done, win or lose, just go home safe.
