  1. Smokeyballs...I have a question for you. What is this website for??? Opinions...Facts...or both...I think it is for all three. You get on here saying that Billy Smith wants to meet me...LOL. Why is that? Because I gave my opinion. I am not a college coach, scout or anything else. I am a die-hard GC fan that has the sense to see that Tyler Smith is the best player to come through Giles County, but he isn't perfect and yes he is only 16 or 17. Just think Smokey...you are 30 something and you just now became perfect, so Tyler has a good 14 more years before he is called on it. In college, he won't be playing low post at 6'6"...he will be on the wing. Why am I trying to air out dirty laundry...because I don't get on my kees and bow when Tyler comes into the gym. Like I said earlier in the post, Tyler is the most gifted and talented guy basketball player to ever grace the floor at GC. As far as I am concerned, I am done with you Smokey and I am done with this site. It is no longer an opinion based forum, you can only state facts and even then if someone doesn't agree with you, you take grief over it. Now, if someone gets offended by threads on this site, their father, family members, or people like yourself (Smokey) get involved and want to get it all stirred up. PLEASE GET A LIFE OUTSIDE OF THIS SITE...AND RESPECT OPINIONS...
  2. LOL...LOL...You guys are coming down hard on me, like it is going to hurt my feelings...uh...it takes a little more than the opinions of high school students to hurt me. I simply stated that Tyler has no consistent game outside of 20 feet...everyone knows that and if you don't, you might ought to open your eyes. He came back against Marshall County and hit 3 treys...does that make him have an outside shot...probably not. You guys immediately got on me after that game...LOL. I come to most every Giles County game to watch him and him alone play ball. He is the most talented player on the floor every night...though on some nights he fails to show it. He needs a great teacher like Roy Williams, Pitino, Coach K...to help him develop as an all around player that is unstoppable from anywhere on the floor. His shot will come just like it did his freshman year, but when is the question. P.S. Tyler Smith is NOT GOD...Incredibly talented and gifted...but NOT GOD. I am through with this discussion...
  3. Final Score...GC 113 Page 52 This isn't a typo...Giles County dominated in all facets of the game...it looks like they are ready for BA to roll into town on Tuesday.
  4. Glyndon, after watching Zach play the last few games, he definately deserves to be in the starting lineup. Coffey brings a great boost of energy from the bench. The entire GC team played, well....like a TEAM tonight. Garrett was on fire from downtown. He has the smoothest stroke and he just looks so graceful on the court. Great game all the way around tonight. BA ain't ready
  5. Giles County picks up where they left off in the Marshall County game...winning big by 30+...
  6. LOL...He proved me wrong by hitting 3 treys in one game...not hardly. When he does it consistently...then he has proved me wrong. Tyler has nothing to prove to anyone...we all know he is awesome, but I am simply making a point.
  7. Guys...Tyler hit 3 of 4 from downtown...lets not call him GOD yet. He is an awesome player and I will leave it at that.
  8. Guys...Tyler hit 3 of 4 from downtown...lets not call him GOD yet. He is an awesome player and I will leave it at that.
  9. Pumpitup...I take it you were on the floor playing ball last night and were a little intimidated...well...the student section did their job. I guess that caused Marshall County to get beat by 59 points too...LOL. You really crack me up. I guess whoever you cheer or play for didn't get to pumpitup...well if you brought more fans than players, maybe you guys would make a little more noise than an old man farting in church.
  10. Nobody said he fouls out. He does get his fair share of charges call...everyone knows that. As for Bolivar being the best in 2A...they are. We probably won't get the chance to face them until state, because I don't see them losing again in the substate. I know we have a very talented team, but Willie Kemp will pick us a part and leave the rest to Brian Lake and O. Kemp. Do we have a point guard that can score 18 points and have 18 dimes in one game...UH NO. Everyone knows Giles will have a cakewalk through region, then we get to face one of the always tough Memphis area teams. This is where the real ball begins. If anyone actually thinks that Giles County can beat Bolivar with the game that we are playing right now, you might ought to open your eyes. There is alot of ball left between now and March, so anything is possible come time for the return trip to the 'BORO'.
  11. Where in my post did I say everything was fine now. I just stated that Zach proved to me...which he has to prove nothing to anyone...that he should be starting. Giles County is going to have to get some help from the bench in order to beat the great teams like Bolivar and SouthSide. Coffey has the talent, but there is something else missing...I just can't put my finger on it. Glydon...don't over analyze my post. I tell you what I am thinking in a direct way...no need to go to deep.
  12. Tyler is one of the best at keeping his composure under touchy circumstances. I have only seen him lose his cool one time on the floor and that is when #20 from Page undercut him intentionally. He learns so quickly from his mistakes and for a young player, that is important. It doesn't take the coach getting in his face and telling him that he screwed up. As for Kash, he is one of the true leaders of this team. He plays the game the way it was meant to be played. He never seems to get out of his game. I think it is great when you can come to the free throw line, with the game in the air, with a smile on your face. I have seen him do that on several occassions. As for Zach...the kid proved to me and everyone else that has had one shread of doubt in his game, why he should be getting his name called at the beginnig of every game. He did an excellent job the against Loretto. He seems to be able to slow the game down to a level that everyone can play on. Keep up the good work...great things are going to happen to him and this team.
  13. I agree with the first post...the jumper is missing. I have on occassion seen Tyler get hot and hit 3 treys in a row...very seldom, but I have seen him do it. In order for him to play legit D1 game, he must be able to hit that 20 ft jumper. We all know that Tyler can take most people his size off the dribble. They sit back and wait on him to make his move and then they set up for the charge. He needs to be able to through the crossover to the defender and then on occassion, pull up and bury the jumper...he doesn't do that right now, thus the reason for so many charges against him. Teams can predict what he is going to do. Tyler is an awesome talent. He knows he has flaws in his game and for the most part, he has been able to work them out, but his jumper still isn't clicking and his overall game is not complete without it.
  14. Guys...Tyler deserved the T...he was trash talking to Kendrick after the foul and the dunk. I could see it plain as day...he needed that T. It doesn't matter if someone was under him or not, the play was over when the whistle blew...he continued to dunk the ball and talk smack...he got T'D...end of story. He does it every game, he was caught in this game. As for the overall performance, it was pretty impressing. Shay was hot. Zach ran the point as it should be ran. Tyler got settled down, after the officials cooled his jets. From that point on, it was smooth sailing for GC. Channing looked a bit out of sync tonight and for all of those who criticize my post, Zach proved why his name is called at the beginning of each game...Mr. Consistency. Good job guys.
  15. Zach played a very good game tonight. He had the hot hand and Coach Holt made the right decisions. Tyler was his usual self...playing to the other team. Shay was very hot...got fouled alot behind the arc, but no whistles blowed??? Overall, dominating game by the GC starters...good job guys.
