Sportzter Although you did not bash the Lawrence County girls program in your post, there was no reason for the comment about the Wilds. If you were happy to see them gone, fine, but they will always be a part of the Lady Cat family. Lawrence County basketball was blessed to have such a great coach, even for only 3 seasons. I dont understand how the level of support or toleration has changed, b/c it is all about supporting the players. These girls deserved support all along...people not liking the coach shouldn't stop them from supporting the Lady Cats. Good luck to the Lady Cats...who always represent Lawrence County well in AAA!

Well, basketball season is beginning Lawrence County tips off their season opener Friday night against Battle Ground Academy at home. Good luck to all my girls on the team! I know they are gonna go out there and show us what Lawrence County basketball is all about...especially all the people that are sayin there arent any 'Katie Smiths, Mary Beth Berrys, Arleigh Brackins, Catie Woods, etc.' on the team. Don't get me wrong, I loved to watch all of those girls play. (And, the people that say that are right, actually. Those Lady Cats aren't in high school anymore, they have went on and accomplished wonderful things in life.) The girls on this year's team have a lot of talent and have the potential to be just as good or better than the awesome players of Lawrence County past. There are some girls on this team that will impress their names on womens basketball just as other Lady Cats have successfully done in the past. Good luck Lady Cats! I'm still cheerin for yall all the way!

I know this is a game that a lot of people look forward to, but right now the Wildcats are focusing on BGA Friday night. After that game, they will look ahead to the Giles County game. Good luck Wildcats! No matter who your next opponent is, the next game is always the most important!

I dont know anything about the BGA team...but I do know that the Wildcats will play their hearts out...and in the end, thats all you can ask for. Lookin forward to a good opening game and a good season of Wildcat and Lady Cat basketball. Good luck to all the Wildcats! Go get 'em!

Although Lawrence County is a young squad this year, don't count them out of pulling some upsets in 8AAA. These girls are very talented and will find a way to score...it doesn't always have to come from one player. In my opinion, distributed scoring will win a lot of ballgames for this young team. This year will show that the future for Lawrence County Lady Cat basketball is becoming brighter and brighter. Good luck Lady Cats!!!

Never did I say that the Wildcats wouldn't be down. Someone would have to be crazy to say that the loss of five members of the team due to graduation, including the well-deserved district MVP, along with a few players that didn't return, wouldn't effect any team. The team will be young this season, but I look forward to watching them play. A couple of talented seniors lead this team, along with a great junior class, and sophomores that will step up to win some games in the district in 04-05. The heart of this team will come through to win the close games for these guys. Good luck Wildcats!

No one should underestimate the Lawrence County team this year. The team might seem young with the loss of several players, but they have talent and heart and will surprise some people this season! Good luck Wildcats!

To all of my Wildcats: I am sooooo proud of the way all of my seniors finished out their high school careers tonight...I will never forget all of the wonderful memories that these five awesome guys that have kept me cheerin' for four years!!! I can't believe tonight was the last time I'll ever get to cheer for Dez, Brad, Daniel, Chris M, and Chris H. as Lawrence County High School Wildcats. I just want to wish them all ALL of the luck in the world as they continue to succeed. All of the memories from waitin on Dez to dunk, Brad's hustle, Daniel shoot the trey, Methvin's never-ending aggressiveness, and Hartsfield's defense, to cheerin' with our student section, will always be some of my greatest memories of Lawrence County High School. Thanks for all the memories! Keep your heads up; it's been a great season! Love ya'll
