  1. I want to give the Flight credit for a hard fought victory over the Pride Team. In all the battles that I`ve had with Matt and Tom over the years this was the most CLASSIC. The game Sunday for any one that saw it demonstrated what AAU girls basketball should be all about. Players giving their all and Coaches pulling out all shots and stops.I believe that both teams have an absolute possibility of making the final 4, providing the seeding ditacte it.this was the 4th meeting between these teams with Pride winning the first 3, in the in Flight won the one that meant the most .Congradulations to Flight ,Keep your head up Pride.(GOOD LUCK IN THE NATIONALS TO ALL TEAMS IN THE NATIONALS)
  2. I thought I gave credit to the other players.I was not trying to dish any of the other WV players.I thought I gave credit to the other impact players who played a great role in the win.My intention was not to start any in-fighting,just to express a thought from an outside view.I expressed my appreciation for the game changing play of NO.10 andNO.3.Anna didnot rebound a lot if any at all,but she fought hard against a terrific post player.NO.10 and 23 did also.
  3. Wow! what a game.Cleveland and WV really got down in a defensive slugfest.Alyson Bulter may not get a lot of props from you guy in east Tenn;but she played well enough in the second half to help her team pull off a great win.She had a lot of help from the supporting cast to go along with her 21 points.Anna Thomas and No.10 came up with some key rebounds. Both these girls held their own against the bigger Cleveland front line.Cleveland`s big girl No.32 is a excellent post prospect.No.22 the young lady who defended Alyson did a great job denying Alyson the ball;but once Alyson got the ball the had no one who could stop her from getting the look she wanted in the second half.No.3 for WV keyed the comeback with 2 deep 3`s to start the second half after being down 11 at the half. :
  4. Potential,Smyrna:post players have to learn to kick it out on the double team. The guards have to do a better job of relocating if Smyrna expects to make to the state.Taylor has to get herself involved or they won`t win the tough games down the drive.Mt.Juliet and Shelbyville both have good injury depleted teams that will get better when they get a couple of players back.Taking nothing away from Mt.juliet, but they are a young team that will be much better after Christmas as their young players grow in experience.Chelsea made some plays late in the Smyrna game that almost turned the tide.Chelsea i was impressed you are showing great maturity. To the match-ups in this district between Smyrna, Wilson Central ,and Mt.Juliet The team that can play to their strengths and shore up their weaknesses will win this district.Smyrna`s strength;offensive post play, weaknesses ;ball movement, offensive rebounding.Mt.Juliet`s strength guard play ,weakness;post offense and overall rebounding.Wilson Central`s strenth Jenkin`s and Hassel`s post play and their ability to run the floor better than most post,or for that matter any player in the district.Killer weakness,no guard confidence.
  5. Postup you must have misread something I didn`t read anything negative or personal about the other two kids.As far as the All-American and local comparison,I was not trying to get into that.All-state is not Local.AAU Alll-american is voted on by the teams that made it to the Elite16.Alyson`s team didn`t fair as well as Cait and Jackie`s ,but she had a good enough tournament to get call from a lot of good schools. For you to say she won`t fare as well, that`s been the only thing close to negative. As far as Smith and Street it is bias to organizations related to it.IF coaches really used any of this as a true gauge they would have missed out on a number good players.
  6. I believe the heights that Smyrna will reach depends on the broadness of Taylor Oliver`s shoulders.Taylor who I believe is a PLAYER OF THE YEAR CANIDATE has new responsibilites. She now has post to play with. That means getting the Six-footers involved and still be able to find her game in the mist of it.I`m sure she will do this because she is a great compeditor looking to answer any and every challenge. With Devin, Kim, Jasmine,Jessica,Emily, and Rekeda they have what it takes to play deep into Feb. and the early parts of March.Keep improving girls and Taylor don`t make yourself easily found.
  7. Yes,I agree that she is containable.I saw your game last year at the state. You guys allowed her to much separation in the open court.Chester Co. was more physical with her.Something that she was not prepared to handle last year;but after atop summer against some of the top talent in the state and the country that won`t be the case this year. Can she or any of the rest of them be stopped?Sure, there is a game plan for everybody. The good players make adjustments, and make plays within plays
  8. It seems to me that every time there is a mention for player of the year,we continue to hear the same names:Cait and Jackie. Both are outstanding players,on teams that need for them to carry a heavy load.I have fell to understand how a player of Alyson Butler`s stature could go without being mentioned. There are a couple of other girls who carry the bulk of the load for their teams Taylor Oliver- Smyrna; Anne Marie Lanning-Riverdale.I`ll talk more about them later .Alyson was all everything at Walker Valley in 2005.TSWA ALL-STATE;ASSO.PRESS ALL-STATE;not just in AA,but in all classifications.Chatt.times Player of the Year AA . Alyson played well enough this season to garner significent attention from 6 SEC. Schools. She choose Alabama. In my opinion Alyson is just as good as any of the before mentioned players.Lanning and Oliver and I forgot about Jana Cross-Loretta,Deandrea Bullock-Columbia,Alex Ross-Columbia,Jessica Mooney-Hillsboro.As far as I`m concerned you could enter-change any of these kids and get the same results or leadership.Cait I hope that your injury is not serious.I love the energy and leadership you bring to the floor.I gained a great respect of that from watching you play.
