  1. The last time we met, the Indians opened some eyes and left Viking fans shell shocked in Viking Hall. This Friday THS will travel to the newly renovated Buc Van Huss Dome in Kingsport to battle with DB. This is a huge game for both teams. Will the Tribe roll again and solidify there 2nd place Big Nine spot, or will the Vikings blow the door open by pulling the upset on the road. Both teams really need the win. The Vikings are battling sickness, but they are getting some much needed rest before this meeting with the Indians. Who will get the win? Where will the Big Nine Standings be on Monday. Let's Go Vikes!!!
  2. Maybe my language is too sophisticated for you Kingsport folks, but no where have I ever said you lack class, nor has yearofthehorn. However, you do. Calling an eldery man Santa Claus, is classless. And in case you didn't notice, this post is concerning the Science Hill-THS game, so why don't you DB fans go whine on your posts, this is for fans who want to talk bball, not smack.
  3. That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard, and the Tribe fans have said some pretty dumb stuff. You arrogant Kingsport fans think that you're unstoppable. THS is the first real challenge DB has had, and we just had an off night. I attribut that to DB's good record, and all the hype about Morgan being the best coach around. The fact the THS was able to come back from several deficits, shows the strength of our team, and our ability to play. And come to think of it, THS led for most of the 2nd half. It just as easily could have been a 3,5,or 10 point win for THS, too. I think its high time that Kingsport fans come down off their high horse and face reality. This is the year of the horn. Go Vikings!!!
  4. THS had a tough game with the Tribe last night. DB fans are excited, but they only won by 1pt, and it could have just as easily gone the other way. The loss makes Friday night's game even bigger. Now the Vikings, the Toppers, and Sullivan South Rebels are all tied for 2nd with one loss. The winner of Friday night's game will remain at 2nd while the loser drops to third. This is a huge rivalry, and will be an awesome game.
  5. I would have to take the top of the Big Nine, and say Science Hill, Tennessee High, Sullivan South and Dobyns Bennett. Unicoi is good and will dominate the Watagua. The IMAC is down this year, but Motown West is going to be the best they have. 1. Tennessee High 2. Sullivan South 3. Dobyns Bennett 4.Science Hill 5. Unicoi Co. 6. Elizabethton 7. Morrsitown West 8. Sullivan Central 9. Volunteer 10. Happy Valley
  6. The Tribe rolled, yes they did. But there were several contributing factors that the Viking nation has not revealed. First, we most certainly were looking past D-B, which, as I have previously stated, is not wise. D-B has just as good of a shot to win the Big Nine as anybody else. I was impressed by the post play from the Indians. But when you play two big games in one week, it is difficult not to look past a big rivalry, to a HUGE rivalry. Next, Goose Harmon, the usual leading scorer is very sick. Strep or something, he went to the doc today. I just hope he will be ready to play on Friday. Also, DeShaud is playing with a pulled groin. I thought that he played excellent last night considering. He and Goose will both have to play one heck of a game on Friday. Also, we have capable players, I just think that some are not getting an opportunity to step up, and others aren't stepping up. The Vikings are good, but they were not at the top of their game. I look forward to the rematch in the Buc Van Huss Dome in January. But right now, I think we need to concentrate on getting healthy for the Toppers. P.S. Did anyone else wonder why THS waited to call timeouts until .05 seconds left??? We had 20 seconds???
  7. Its time for predictions: Tennessee High will completely dominate the post position as the Goose will have another spectacular game. DeShaud will shoot well and the Tribe will fade as the game progresses. Intitially this one will be close, but I look for the Vikings to pull away in the 2nd half. Vikings roll over Tribe. !!!VIKING PRIDE!!!
  8. This is the game everyone has been waiting to see. A rematch of last year's District 1 AND Region 1 Championship Games. The Toppers edged the Vikings three times last year, including the District Championship, but the Vikings won the Regional Final OT Game that had everyone on their feet the whole time. Both teams are pumped and the fans can't wait. The matchups will be unbelievable: The Vikings Goose Harmon and the Toppers Omar Wattad, and THS's DeShaud Johnson v Science Hill's Michael Forney. This will be a great game. Who will win? Can Goose shut down Omar's post-play? Go Vikings!!!
  9. Their is always a big crowd for the Vikings-Toppers match. And the Vikings are hungry. The Toppers have recorded a string of victories over the group at THS right now, and they will be ready to play. This is the most anticipated bball game of the season. Should be a good rematch of last year's OT Regional FInals Game.
  10. Their is always a big crowd for the Vikings-Toppers match. And the Vikings are hungry. The Toppers have recorded a string of victories over the group at THS right now, and they will be ready to play. This will be a great game!
  11. Well, I have not seen the Tribe play, and they do have a great record. But, all I know is what I have heard, and those Jeff. Co. boys said that D-B struggled down there, and they also said this is one of the worst bball years in Jeff Co., which certainly does not impress me much. The Vikings stiff 2-3 is an art, and the Vikings have several threats off of the bench. This will be a good game early, but I look for the Maroon Machine to roll in the 4th qtr. The Vikings have also won on the road: South, Volunteer, and East. The Tribe will be better than most people think, but the same is true for the Mighty Vikings. The Vikings take the advantage because the game is in Viking Hall, 'Home of the 6th Man'. Go Vikes!
  12. I heard from somebody in Jeff Co that D-B struggled to beat them, and they are terrible. The Tribe has no defense and cannot shoot worth anything. I look for Goose Harmon to dominate the post, and DeShaud and Tyler Harrison to get some 3-pointers. Vikings should win big.
  13. Well, the Vikings are still rollin. Volunteer falls to THS 59-44. Big game Monday, Fire Up DB. The Vikings will have a harder time with the Tribe than the Toppers. But this is the year of the horn, right? Go Vikes!
  14. Monday night continues the Best Week of BBall in the NET as the Tennessee High Vikings host the Dobyns Bennett Indians in the tie-breaker for the top spot in the Big Nine Conference. The Tribe has played solid so far and they have some great players, and the Vikings have turned some heads with their upset of Sullivan South, and a few big wins of their own. Who will win? Who will get the #1 spot? This should be a GREAT game.
  15. Just an update on the Best Week of BBall in the NET: Science Hill at Sullivan South South showed why they were pre-season favorite to win the conference, as Hauldren scored his 1000th point for the Rebels, congrats to him, the Toppers' Omar Wattad fouled out in the 4th. Rebels rolled over the Toppers 70-64. Sullivan Central at Sullivan East Central proves they can play in 3A. East remains winless in the Big 9 and the Cougars score their first conference win. Central's 2nd team scores 41 on East in the 2nd half as the Cougars blows out the Pats 96-69. Tennessee High at Volunteer Thanks to DeShaud Johnson's 22 points, the Vikings overcame the Falcons awesome 1st quarter shooting, leading at one point 10-2. Tennessee High showed poise as they came back to end the half up 34-24. Johnson kept knocking down threes, and Junior Matt Layton had a big night. The Goose had 17 and the Vikings remained unbeaten in conferene play, 59-44. Daniel Boone at David Crockett The Trailblazers win the battle of the frontiersman in a close one. Boone 58 Crockett 56. That raps up the Big 9 Conference scores. Next week is going to be something to see. Monday: Dobyns Bennett travels to Bristol to battle Tennessee High as the conference unbeatens battle for the #1 spot. Tuesday: Sullivan Central comes off their huge win at the Patriot Palace to take on Sullivan South, who also comes off a big 'W', a win over the Toppers. Friday: Dobyns Bennet heads to Bluff City to take on Club East. Can the Pats get the first win? Volunteer comes into Kingsport to battle South in what promises to be a good match-up. And the most anticipated Big 9 game so far, the Science Hill Toppers travel to Viking Hall to go up against the Tennessee High team that beat them in the Regional Finals last year. I know I can't wait. Who will win? Who will be #1 after this week? D-B? The Hill? Rebs? or the Vikings?
