  1. My idea is after the State Championships are over have a DI/DII dual meet with the champions wrestling each other. That would solidify the argument of 1. which champion is better and 2. which division is better. What do you all think?
  2. Possible Matchups to watch 112: Jadoobirsingh (Cleveland) and Stewart (Soddy) 119: Brett (Soddy) and Harless (Karns) 125: Myers (Greenville) and Graham (Bradley) 135: Winesburgh (Soddy) and Yates (Mt. Juliet)/Farinella (Farrigut) 189: Roberson (Soddy) and Marcum (Franklin Road Acadmey) Hall (Maryville) and Quick (Tullahoma) 285: Zimmerman (Soddy) and Murray (Science Hill) most of these are interesting to me, and some may be push overs but, these seem to be some huge first and maybe second round matches.
  3. as of 6:00 P.M. Central brackets up to 152 have been posted. I'm surprised that Abrigo is at 152 this year...but that's just me.
  4. I have wrestled with asthma since 6th grade, and since I've entered high school I have not needed my inhaler or any emergency medications. I know I don't represent the norm, but it seems to me that wrestling has actually helped my asthma. But there is one person on my team who had to quit during the middle of a tournament to get a nebulizer treatment his asthma is so bad. Hopefully all of the wrestlers with asthma will work their best in their regional and the state tournament to prove that, even with asthma, you can compete with the best in the state.
  5. I may not be as well versed as some other people here but I believe that Middle Tennessee has some great coaches. Coach Simpson of MBA has a good program running right now in DII, but I'd have to go with Coach Josh Peck of Ravenwood and Coach Blair of Brentwood have some great programs going. Blair already has a track record going right now and he has had a state placer in Holliman to help Brentwood High be known But some people overlook Peck, last year he took Ravenwood to a 33-2 dual record losing only to Franklin from a barely .500 win percentage. He only has two state placers right now, but look foreward to seeing much more from Ravenwood in the years to come, also last year Peck got Coach of the Year in Region 5.
