  1. You can rest assured it will be a competitive game. As for your prediction, good luck holding the Dawgs to under 30 points, much less holding them to 14. They can throw 3 different legitimate backs at you at any time with fresh legs. And no one really knows that they can't pass the ball. They just haven't had to pass since they've been rushing for 300 yards a game. And never underestimate the HC coaching advantage. Swenson knows LC and Coach Sharp extremely well, and the Dawgs will run through a wall for Coach Swenson. He'll definitely have them ready to play. Just hope the LC stadium can hold all of the Bulldog fans that will be making the journey over.
  2. Nice job with your prediction. HC sure had a lot of trouble with Loretto. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Keep doubting the Dawgs and you're playing right into their hands. Great game Friday night HC and keep the ball rolling this week against East Robertson!
  3. We definitely can't overlook anyone at this point, but we did a great job of jumping a road hurdle on Friday night after trailing to Lawrence County. That was our first real test on the road and it was great the way the Dawgs responded with a tremendous second half effort. Nice to see Ethan Cannon back under center. DJ's done a terrific job, but it is very evident the team rallied behind their senior leader when he was in the game. I'm sure Coach Swenson will find a way to utilize both of their talents. Should be a big crowd and great atmosphere when the Dawgs return home for homecoming this Friday. Best of luck Dawgs!
  4. Lawrence Co. should be a good test for the Dawgs, but they really have Mr. Momentum on their side right now. They're extremely focused and taking the games one at a time. Hopefully they stay fired up and keep the ball rolling on Friday night. Hickman Co: 35 Lawrence Co: 14
  5. Congrats Eagles on scoring the first points in school history. I know the result wasn't what everyone wanted, but you have to take baby steps before you can start walking. Keep building on the positives from each game and the wins will eventually come. Good luck this week and especially to my boys Jake Voyles and Derek Gossett. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  6. The way all the Harpeth folks have talked big on these posts all week, I thought surely you guys would bring more than maybe 50 fans to the game. Way to support your team on the road /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Bet the Bulldog nation that you like to dog so much travels better on the road. Look for a packed visiting section this week at Lawrence County. Good job Dawgs and keep on making believers out of these whiners.
  7. I hope everyone enjoys hating on the passionate Hickman County fans who are thrilled to be having a great football season after so many lean years. You probably can't compare this year's HC team with those great Huntington teams from the past, but to jab at HC for not making the playoffs in a decade...we'll, I bet Harpeth would have made about the same number of trips to the postseason if they had been playing 4A football. Try playing the metro schools week in and week out, getting your brains beat in, and then you'll appreciate the 3-0 start just like the Hickman County fans do this year. And just keep on taking the dawgs lightly...Harpeth will gets theirs come Friday night in Centerville. Go Dawgs!
  8. East will have a strong team in a couple of years if all of the current freshmen and sophomores keep playing, plus a good eighth grade group this year at EHMS. But as for a blowout against Centerville, you can be guaranteed that will never happen as long as Eric Swenson is the head coach. If he leaves, all bets are off. Good luck to both the Eagles and Dawgs this week.
  9. Good luck Eagles! This new school has been a great rallying point for the entire community. And contrary to what many believe and write on these posts, the folks from Centerville (myself included) are rooting you guys on and plan on coming to the game. Wouldn't surprise me to see several Centerville folks at the game. We just want to see Hickman County football succeed...East Hickman and Hickman County High. Enjoy tomorrow night guys...you've been waiting on this for a long time. Better get to the game early, and better get to Kelly's even earlier if you want a seat! EHHS- 14 Stewart- 10
  10. Obviously this guy hasn't watched much 4A football from the metro area, to make the statement that 2A is much more competitive. Lewis County is always good, Fairview decent, but no one is even close to Hillsboro, Maplewood, and schools like that. Top to bottom, Hickman County is playing a completely different level of competition compared to the last several years. And it's going to be "tough to compete" for a while...HC is 2-0 with wins over Marshall County and Fairview. Defense has only allowed two touchdowns all season. I think they're holding their own on the football field. Should be undefeated going into the Lewis County game. Great job Dawgs!
  11. Hickman County played extremely well tonight after allowing Fairview to run back the opening kickoff for a TD. The defense has only allowed 2 touchdowns in 2 games against Marshall Co. and Fairview, and they're playing a very physical brand of football. Fairview needs to thank Coach Swenson for showing some class and coasting from mid-third quarter on with his second string. The score could have been a lot worse. Great job Bulldogs! You deserve this season and so do the fans of Hickman County. Get ready Waverly. The Big Dawg is still hungry and the Bulldog Nation is headed your way next Friday! No excuses this year.
  12. This should be a good one tonight in Centerville. HCHS has been waiting for a drop down in classification for several years and everyone in the community is ready for 2A football rivalries once again. Should be a big crowd and a great Friday night atmosphere. Look for the Dawgs to be physical and anxious for an early win. Lafayette Spears running the "D" will immediately pay dividends. Bulldogs win 21-14. Best of luck Coach Swenson and the rest of the Dawgs, all of Centerville will be rooting you on!
  13. Ankle braces can put you at risk for ACL injuries also. I'm a kinesiology major and we discuss a theory in which ankle braces and high top shoes can actually lead to more ACL injuries because the knee joint ends up taking the blow, rather than the ankle rolling and absorbing the shock. Some people must wear them to participate, but if not required I suppose you must weigh your risks and options. Just a theory, but it makes a lot of sense.
  14. Lan Warren from Hickman County can really throw it down.
