Just wondering where Kaz and Knight2 are at today after Oliver Springs won against Oneida last night. They were talking a good game before Friday but are nowhere to be found the morning after.

The teams playing are Oneida, Powell, Loudon and Oliver Springs boys and girls. I believe the first game of the day will start at 3 pm. The first game is Oneida vs Powell girls. Oliver Springs girls and boys play the last 2 games each night.

Kazam, While we appreciate the vote of confidence I would like to point out that Christopher only plays the point when Parton goes out of the game for a rest period. Kayla plays the 2 or 3. Even with Parton out of the line-up most often Hall plays the point. However you are right in that we have a much deeper backcourt with 6 players who can play any of the guard spots. It indeed should be a good game.

This district should come down to Oneida and Oliver Springs with Oakdale being the dark horse. Oneida lost 1 senior to graduation and should return everyone. If they stay healthy they should be a force. Oliver Springs lost 2 seniors to graduation but return 3 starters and several girls that saw extensive action. Last year was the 1st year for head coach Christopher. Oakdale did not lose very many girls as I recall so they should also be tough. Coalfield lost 4 starters to graduation and thier 5th starter is coming off knee surgery. It may be a long year for the Yellowjackets. Wartburg lost 4 year starter Ginger McGhee and thier point guard from a team that struggled somewhat last year but I understand they recieved a good transfer. Sunbright struggled last year and I understand lost one of their better players. Oliver Springs is the favorite since they won last year or until someone can de-throne the Lady Bobcats. They have proven themselves over the last several years by going to the state 2 out of the last 3 years. So until they are beat they are the favorites. The state game against Madison was probably the worst they played all year. Give Madison some credit for that but when you shoot 21 percent for the game, it's a bad night.

Lets not forget Amanda Poland a Sr. who I believe played for one of the Dodger teams.

Powell will struggle to get out of the region this year if they continue to play as they have lately. Is the coach the problem? It seems that he has been late to practice on several occasions, missed a scrimmage and even missed a game or two. The players feed off the coach and if he doesn't have the intensity then the players will not. What are some other opinions out there on this situation.

When does Kingston play again???

Just wondering where and when the Kingston and Wartburg girls are playing after Christmas. Thought I might see a game or two.
