I do believe that the Independence Touchdown Club sees this as an opportunity to have a good fund raising opportunity for the football team -

What's happening with Independence
Batman was a tree hugger replied to bulldog69's topic in Class 5A & Class 6A
Lots of hard work to do and a very short time to do it in....coming off of a 1-9 campaign the eagles have their first senior class (12) and a tough schedule....a tough first game with Page awaits Independence in week # 0....factor in such issues as injuries, luck, and hard work and you still never know.....good luck Eagles and always remember that your most important game is the next one on Friday night -
independence @ glencliff aug 7, 2006
Batman was a tree hugger replied to indyrep's topic in Class 5A & Class 6A
Glencliff was much improved and the Eagles found they have much work to be done to be competitive on the 5-A level...only 10 days to go and so much work to be done! -

2006 independence team where do they stand
Batman was a tree hugger replied to hazzardousman's topic in Football
Anyone that knows anything knows that coach smith left Ezell-harding because he had to, no one is allowed to remain on staff if they get a divorce, smith was no exception...he loved his time there and all of his players.....Trump, schlappi, gettis and Huff are just a few of the players he hated to leave......he also hopes that all of the division one players are taking care of their grades so college football is more than just a dream.....best of luck to Ezell and continued success...good players are much better than good coaches -
2006 independence team where do they stand
Batman was a tree hugger replied to hazzardousman's topic in Football
I think that Independence has come along way and has that much further to go....working hard during the summer and keeping their eye on the game at hand which of course is Page...one of ten regular season games all of which are important and each will be difficult....can only hope that the Indy players will keep working hard and make their strenghts stronger and their weaknesses their strength...keeping humble and hungry is the name of the game..... -
independence vs. springfield
Batman was a tree hugger replied to all_chap's topic in Class 5A & Class 6A
Springifield will bring in a very athletic squad, they will be very physical and well coached...Independence must focus more on stopping the run and securing the ball on offense -
Independence High School will be hosting their 2nd Annual 7 v 7 passing tournament on Saturday, June 17th in Thompson Station, Tennessee (located just outside of Franklin). This year the passing tournament is adding kickers to the tournament. Also being added is a 'Big Man" challenge pitting linemen from each team in an Olympic type competition. The cost for each team is $250.00 per team which allows for as many subs in the passing tournament as possible. Extra teams may be added for $100.00 each. At the present moment the tournament is being limited to (16) For more information or an entry form contact Coach Scott Smith at scotts@wcs.edu or shotgunfivewide5@aol.com

Jackson Howell will be next Portland Head Coach
Batman was a tree hugger replied to Green Lantern's topic in Football
There is no doubt that Coach Perry will be missed but I hope Jackson Howell really gets a great look as the head coach, I know that he lives there and will really bring an exciting offense and different approach to the job...good luck Jack -

You have to ask yourself bulldog69er....in the end does that hate fest toward smith help me or hurt me...August is coming soon my friend.......as told before, Smith is happy at Indy......why would a man want to move from a job 4 miles from his house......leaving EZell quickly, only because he got a divorce...the BGA job should go to a good recrutier...therefore Rankin is the perfect choice...work your boys hard bulldog......it will not be pretty in August...so sayeth the tree hugger......
