  1. We definitely have a shot at the gold ball this year, even though the media has been heavily focused on Bolivar and Liberty. Flying somewhat under the radar could prove to benefit the 'Cats further down tournament road against teams less familiar with West TN. Of course, first we have to get through Bolivar or Liberty.. and Mitchell for that matter. Let's hope the Tomcats fair as well this year as last year against Mitchell-- they aren't going to come in looking for an easy win this year.
  2. ummmm... are you joking? Lexington has almost no shot at the gold ball. I mean seriously. Even if they only face one of these teams, they'd get mauled by Bolivar, Liberty, Haywood, or Mitchell....no offense. LHS has a good squad, just not championship caliber this year.
  3. Wait a second.. isn't one of the top 20 defensive players in the nation in West TN? I seem to remember something about that...
  4. I am not really sure about this one guys. I think that it's going to be a hard fought game, but Haywood could be tired. We played JCM on Tuesday and have Ripley on Friday... JCM played us hard and Ripley will be trying even harder because of the huge rivalry there. The Tomcats CAN definitely take Liberty-- given they are at 100%, but if they are recouping from earlier in the week, I'm not sure...
  5. ..White Station's coach just came from Haywood... Yeah i was going on the basis of Bolivar also being in Memphis.
  6. No contest, Memphis wins. BTW, Where's Varnardo on the Memphis team fellas?
  7. Bolivar has a lot to prove against Liberty. Liberty will come out on top just barely, and Bolivar will be left wondering where their three-peat hopes are headed after loses to #1 Liberty and #3 Haywood. Not to mention their defeat by Hamilton at the Forum. They are a great team, but I think perhaps only number 3 in the state this year...No knock against them, it's just a great year for basketball. My opinion goes for each one of those schools this year though-- they could all three knock off the other one on any given night, as has been proven so far this year. It will be interestingi to see the results of this game as well as the Liberty/Haywood game next week. Liberty escaped by 5 last time... Liberty 65 Bolivar 63
  8. Ward Martindale from University School of Jackson sank 10 against Haywood even though they lost by 43pts... Shavion Comage hit from Haywood hit 12 that night I believe, only missing one which was a buzzer beater from half court. I'm no expert but that seems pretty darn good...
  9. Yes Bolivar should still be ranked #1 after Haywood knocked them off last week... I agree that Liberty, Bolivar, and Haywood could all probably knock each other off on any given night, that's certainly going to lead up to one great state playoff this year. As for Mitchell I don't know much about them this year, other than Haywood blew them out late last year.
