  1. SEYMOUR! The Eagles will roll in 1-3a next year, their incoming Freshman class is LOADED, and they have some good players returning. Last year was a disappointing one by Seymour standards and believe me Coach Householder will have them back where they belong at the top of the region. 1) Seymour 2) Carter 3) PF after that it doesnt matter.
  2. Excuse me while I whip this out! With a great nucleous of talent returning to the field and a little more fire added to what is already a great coaching staff you might as well go ahead and put the Eagles of Cosby right up at the top when you speak of this region. This is the year that Cosby becomes a legitament threat to take down the big boys of this region and step to the head of the table. Under the guideance of what should have been the coach of the year in the state of TN last year, Im talking about THE Tyler Shelton, he has come in and in one year turned this program around and has everyone in C-town talking about football in the same breath as B-ball. He has made a savy front office decision in hiring a coach that shares both his love of football and his desire to win while keeping the young men on the team as his top priority. This new coach comes in with great expectation and an almost kinship like closeness to Coach Shelton and another anonomyous member of the staff that it is rumored he is kin to, he married his sister or something like that. The Eagles return an all-region defensive back that shouldve made all-state in Jody Lowe, his brother Cody who has the same potential and a proven performer at the QB slot in Kelvin Rone, the Eagles also return most of their O-line and D-line and are looking at some untapped resources to step in and fill some voids left behind by graduating SRs. All in all I would say that this could definately be the year of the Eagle, BUT, you always have to contend with Cloudland and Hampton and that is no easy task, but the Eagles should be more than ready when it comes time to do battle! 3. Keep talking it up there big guy, who do you coach for? Take some pride in your program and tell us what staff youre a part of. I can only hope its someone on our schedule because nothing would give me greater pleasure than to meet, and beat someone who so viamately is denying our UP and COMING program the respect is deserves. I dont think that we are on here saying that we are going to go 15-0 and win the state championship next year, we are simply saying that we are on the rise and we feel like we have a great chance to compete for our Region championship. If you payed any attention at all to other games besides the ones that youre suppossed to be coaching in you would know that Harriman played Hampton very tough last year and moved the ball on them pretty good all night they just had trouble inside the redzone when the field shrank and they couldnt spread them out as much and use their athleticism. But thats alright you dont have to give us any respect because we dont need any from any one that doesnt believe that we have really turned the corner we would rather go out and take your respect and make those people respect us instead of them just blowing smoke. So look out , if youre on our schedule be ready for a team thats going to take the fight to you for 48 minutes, if you dont like the way were talking and the confidence that we have in our program to bad, we know how good we can be and everyone else will soon find out. See ya in August Coach Yoakum
  4. The Cosby High football team and coaches send their prayers to the young man!
  5. In response to your question pride, Ive been a coach at the highschool level for the past 5 years so I know what its going to take to get the boys ready for the upcoming season, and I would like to say that Im honored to be a part of an upcoming program with a terriffic young head coach as Coach Shelton has already proved himself to be. As for us not being able to compete seriously for a region title that is false! While Hampton and Cloudland are great programs with a lot of tradition you have to look at what they lost in comparison to us. To say that we are not serious contenders is not a wise statement to make, ask Hampton if they REALLY want to come down and play us the way they surely would have a few years ago and youll find that you get an astounding NO. As for Cloudland we have to go up there but Im not worried because I know with the coaching staff we have and the kids we got coming back we will be ready to roll! So go ahead and count us out if you want, but when it comes time to play dont be suprised if you go home beat with your tail between your legs wondering what happened to the Eagles that we used to know.
  6. I dont know why youre getting on coach's case they are just telling what they know. Are you involved in the program? Do you know exactly what has happened there in the past few months? I seriously doubt it, and if you are then I dont see how you can make any comments about Coach Ryan or myself. I came to work hard everyday and I didnt get paid a dime, yet I didnt miss a practice or a Sunday morning film breakdown. I stayed later than most and usually got to the school by the time the kids were working out during 4th block even though I had a long drive from Greeneville everyday just to be a part of the program. If youre not part of the program then I can respect your comments and the things youve heard I just want to let you know that those accusations are wrong! Am I the best coach in the state? No, but I never claimed to be. Am I a good young coach with a passion to win and see my players succeed? You bet your butt I am. Theres no way with what you said that if someone else gets on here and rebukes your opinion with an opinion of their own that you can come back and get mad at them because thats what it is an opinion youve got yours and coach has theirs. Again Im very proud of the time and the young men that I got to be a part of while I was at PF, now Ive moved on for reasons that I do not have to go into detail to, to anyone except my family and my closest friends. I wish all the athletic programs at PF nothing but the best because like I said I left family and alot of very good friends that are close to my heart behind but at the same time I am not sorry at all for my decisions and I can just hope that everyone there that still is close to me can understand and I suppose that they do. 7. While most people will agree that Trousdale is the class of 1A there are few teams that might really surprise some people next year. Teams that are not traditional powers rising out of the ashes to really have an outstanding year. Cosby High School had the greatest season perhaps in school history last year and even though we lost some key players we return some of the best athletes in east TN 1A football thay you've never heard of. Look for the names Jody Lowe, Cody Lowe, and Kelvin Rone, they are three great athletes that do not get the pub they deserve. Also have to always watch Hampton and Cloudland, Greenback, Midway, and South Pittsburg. With that being said it should be one of the best years of 1A football ever, good luck to everyone and remember, we all have a chance in August!
  8. Being very biased, I think the Eagles of 06 will come out on fire and possibly have the greatest season in school history. As a new coach at the school I am certainly excited about the promise this season holds! With a very good group of SRs and JRs and maybe the best Sophmore class in school history, we should be exciting and fun to watch. Be ready for Cosby to open some eyes this year as we drive towards a Region championship!
