  1. Was this always the case or did the boys game get cancelled? I have seen on multiple schedules that the boys were supposed to play too. I'm just curious.
  2. Does anyone know the final score of the Waverly v. Huntingdon game?
  3. I just updated the season schedule for the boys team and will update the missing scores when Coach approves and posts the remaining schedule.
  4. I personally could care less about either of the teams, but what Kong is saying is absolutely right. I was just browsing a recently locked thread where GC fans were defending themselves from an apparent year long onslaught of attacks from DC fans trash talking. Well what do ya know, this idiotic thread starts trashing the GC fans for trash talking and its by a moderator. Most of what I have read is simply GC fans asking for respect and they are shortly there after lashed out at by someone who hates them and then the trashing begins. I currently live in Tx and come to this board for information about whats happening with TN sports, because I lived in TN for 18 years. This appears to be one of the most slanted and biased "statewide" websites I have ever been on. If this website is truly supposed to represent the state of Tennessee high school sports, moderators are not supposed to pick and choose what is allowed and make comments based on their affiliation to a certain school or region of the state. I see this happening over and over. If this werent the only place for information, I definitely wouldn't come back to this website, but at least information is abundant even if it is slanted. Good luck to all teams left in the tournament.
  5. Oh yeah, you have those six guaranteed wins, plus these impressive non-district teams on the schedule: Centennial(13-16) twice Ravenwood (3-20) Franklin(8-16) twice Elliston Baptist(5-22) MBA(5-22) Gee, by my count, that should be 13 easy wins. What happened?
  6. Hey Mixieboy, you do play those three, but they are named Loretto, Fairview & Marshall Co. Come Strong or dont come at all!!
  7. If Page is so atheletic, then why have they lost 13 games? I'll take Waverly by 10.....69-59.
  8. Being from H.C., I really hope that McEwen does well in the regionals. A good man once told me that no matter what happens in life "Act like you've been there". In other words, when you score your first TD in a ball game, do not over celebrate, dance and act like an idiot. When you get a big promotion at work, dont be an a** to your subordinates because you suddenly have power. I could go on and on about basically being classy in the face of success. Act like this is the way it is supposed to be, not the other way around. I really think that this is the case now. McEwen evidently has a few good players on its team for the first time in many years and should be pretty good for at least the next couple. Please take this success in stride, enjoy it and build on it and expect to win in the future. Dont "gloat while you can" and then things will be back to normal in a couple of years. Good luck in the regional tourney and give 'em heck.
  9. Can anyone tell me the updates tourney schedule? I cant find a schedule anywhere. When and who will Waverly be playing?
  10. With the exception of the lack of height in the lineup, this years squad sounds like the talent level of the teams in 84-86. Ken Northcutt, Kent Mulholland and company put on quite a show for three years. The problem is that they would fold in the post season and only made it to state one time. If I remember correctly the starting lineup was 6'11", 6'6", 6'4", 6'2", 6"0", all in the same class. The killer was when Kent was a senior, his younger brother Todd was a freshman at 6'10" and played with the varsity. I think though the real problem was their lack of depth. Once you went past the starters and one reserve, there was no one. Anyway, sounds like this years squad has a lot of promise in the years to come. Depth can overcome a lack of height.
  11. Nothing of substance on this post, just wanted to move it back to the top for any update that comes.
  12. I would personally say that Sycamore would take that game, but Cheatham has been so up and down all year anything could happen. I'll say Sycamore by 7.
  13. I understand that people want to give and get good marks, but can anyone here tell me the importance of the marks and why would anyone care to get them?
  14. Everyone just stop it!!! Why dont you inbred screwballs from McEwen go start your own thread. At no point did anyone from Waverly ask you for your thoughtless opinion about how good/bad McEwen is. This thread was started for intelligent people to debate who would win the 10AA Tourney. So take your Herman Munster looking butts back to the shack you live in and shut up.
  15. From the looks of his grammar, he may not be able to move past the HS level if he doesnt study. Acceptance requirements for major colleges get more and more difficult as time goes by. Remember, b-ball only lasts for a few years for 99% of us, but education will last your entire life. Maybe he'll be part of the 1%, but he should study his butt off just in case.
  16. I'm trying to figure out how this went from a prediction thread for 10AA to a bashing thread from other areas. As far as McEwen.....we all still think of you lovingly as the weird stepchildren of the county. Must be nice to finally have one decent player on your team for the first time in about 15 years. Guess you have to get all you can out of this since it may be another 25 yrs for your next.
  17. Anyone know how Waverly is looking for the 2003 season? Usually a pretty decent team, but have been out of the loop for a while.
  18. Do you mean district champs or something else? And I am assuming you mean honorable mention, but at what? State rankings? If you in fact mean honorable mention in the state rankings, I believe it would be because Waverly plays in a fairly weak district **this year** and had no "quality" wins outside of district. Plus they lost two to a terrible Cheatham Co team. All of that mixed together means no respect from the voters. If Waverly had beaten the weak Cheatham Co team both times and split with Perry Co, no doubt in my mind they would be in the top 10. Fortunately its the way the world turns, win games and get ranked. Those losses hurt.
  19. Ok, if this is so important, this can easily be solved. Pretty much any computer now has video capabilities. All you have to do is connect the VCR/Camera to a computer and download the portion of the video that shows the final shot to your PC. You can then pause and cut the picture of the shot that was supposedly a three pointer. Then you can attach that picture to this board as a link. I think that would shut everyone up.
  20. ......and a shot came from the grassy knoll......does anyone here believe that Ryan really has a video? Pretty lame excuse from a lame hick from P.C.
  21. pcchick.....and I suppose video lies. Obviously other posters on the thread have seen it and all of them tell a different story from yours. The game IS history, but the freaking zebras need to pay attention to the game, not bow down to the hick homers. Not that it really matters in the end. At least in HS Basketball it is all proven on the court come tourney time.
  22. My vote for a sleeper this year will be Waverly. They are young, but they have frequently made it out of the region in the past, so coaching experience will be key. At 19-5 they have an impressive record, but sometimes lose the games they should win. They have beaten a couple of decent "AAA" teams, but lost to "A" Perry Co(granted they are one of the top "A" teams in the state), with an opportunity to get revenge for that loss at the end of the regular season. They are currently ranked #9 in W/L vs. schedule strength and I anticipate they will rise in that ranking before the end of the season. With all of that said, they have gotten ZERO respect from the press voters this year, but maybe they know something I do not. As always, we'll all have to wait and see during Tourney time.
  23. Does anyone know if Waverly and Sycamore actually played on 1/17? There was some bad weather that night and many games were cancelled. If it was cancelled, does anyone know if and when it was rescheduled for? If it was played, what was the score?
  24. I have seen on this web page's schedule list as well as on the Tennessean schedule that Waverly played Henry Co. on thursday. Can anyone verify this and if there was a game, what was the score?
  25. I would definitely say that the Waverly Central team of 1988 was one of the greats to not win a title. They did not allow a single point in the season until they ran upon Brentwood Academy in the state semi's and lost 21-14. That year BA wound up winning state and, if I am not mistaken, was ranked in the top 10 nationally to end the season.
