  1. Katie Morgan, Kylie Lambert and Katie Blevins all deserved making the all tournament team. Mindy Rayburn and Katie Hearn also had a great tournament. Central has a great team with several talented girls. All in all I think the best player should be the MVP. I think the MVP was Katrich Williams (Beau Brown for the boys). They were the best players in the tournament if you watched all their games. Kylie Lambert and Katie Blevins both stood out in every game in the tournament. They are both great players and put their heart and soul into each game. They play very well together and compliment each other. I am not sure how they pick the all tournament team, but I think each and every game should be watched by each committee member. The committee should not go by only the highest points a player has. They need to watch all the games. Some players may not be great scorers but are awesome players when they are in the game such as Central's Gabby Jordan, Katie Hearn, Elizabeth Elder and many, many, many other players on all the district teams. They just don't get the glory, but each team needs them.
  2. Central's hopes are definitely alive after the big win against Cleveland. They seem to be coming together as a team. It could be the underdogs they will win the state this year. GO LADYS!
  3. Katie Blevins - McMinn Central. She is a floor general as well as the leading scorer for the team. I love watching her play.
  4. When Central played at Sequoyah in the girls and boys game, there were about 50 fouls for "charges" called. It got to be a joke for both teams, because every foul they called would be charge. I have never seen anything like it before. In fact I think one of the central boys fouled out with 5 charges. The refs this year have either - gone overboard with fouls or don't call fouls and let the players get killed.
  5. Congratulations to McMinn Central - Katie Blevins, Katie Morgan, and Kylie Lambert! Way to go! Good luck in the District!
  6. BRAVO BRAVO, everyone thoughts exactly! The team of Rayburn, McCaslin, Blevins, Lambert, and Morgan have the ability to go to the State! These are great players and play well together.
  7. It's any teams to take at this point. Injuries and flu can affect any team. The Tyner/Central Game. Central only had one starter that was healthy Kylie. Mindy had the flu (came to the game and sat out), Cami (the tall post) had to sit out a game, and 2 of the starters, Katie Blevins and Katie Morgan were also sick, but played anyway, and Kylie got into foul trouble. The freshman off the bench made alot of turnovers and fouls. The freshman need to get mentally tougher to quote Coach Morgan from the newspaper. So Tyner played a very different team from the first time. If and when the match up it should be a very different game.
  8. McMinn County - Amy Jo Castor & Niala Harris McMinn Central - Katie Blevins
  9. It would seem to me that Coach Quirk should be screaming at his buddies Bob Williams and David Tucker. His "friends" are the ones recruiting players from McMinn County High such as Calhoun Elementary players (Trotter/Gutherie several more) and Athens Jr. High (Buckley girl) to Bradley County. McMinn has lost a lot of tallent from Calhoun to Walker Valley. They have not lost the talent to McMinn Central. Even if that statement was true, at least they are loyal to McMinn County. Come on Quirk, you know the integrity of Coach Armstrong and Coach Morgan, I can't believe after all the years you taught with them, you could or would even make that stupid statement. Fans have gotten tired of the crybabying from McMinn, first Bob Williams, Keith Elliott and now you. You are a better person that!
