  1. Yes, PF did win, and Mudd did pitch. Anyone know who holds first place in the District? Would love to know. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  2. Whoa there TBALLEXPERT! What do you mean by "real good competition"..... "weak and average teams"? Just who do you think Unicoi has been playing? I saw them play some excellent teams this weekend, and have seen them play some of the same teams in regular season over the years. I would class most all of them well above what you've stated. You must think this entire Region is "weak and average". Wait a minute......you are used to hitting the ball off a T without a pitcher being involved. You need to stay with the little kids where you have some knowledge and stay out of the big league. If you wear diapers or Scooby Doo underwear, then don't mess with the ones with the "big girl panties"! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  3. SACFLY, I even know who you are. I've seen you at Grainger several times when I came over. I guess we get to say PF got to the officials tonight as was said about Grainger Last night. Tough game. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  4. SACFLY, you just don't even know. The Grizzlies will definately have the "grills" set up for you Tigers today. Say they came to your place and took over the "homecookin'" over there? I'm getting some good old "homecookin'" ready for PLAYTOUGH and I'll have a box of tissue there for you to cry in. I guess the Tigers may as well stay home tonight since the Grizzlies took the officials last night, they will surely have them tonight in the Grizzlie's Den. You never seem to amaze everyone with your arrogance in whatever sport your Tigers are playing. Rest assured the Grizzlies don't need help from anyone. Bring your scorebook and keep up with everything on the field today, not just what you see through your "rose colored glasses". How about you take them off and see reality for once? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
  5. PLAYTOUGH, just like the pizza places, we deliver on the road. Always make sure we have the right officials on the field. Come down just inside the fence at the football field by the grill and get a good old "homecooked" burger before you go up to the field. Hope you don't get there before the grill cools off. Yea, I went over last night to the officials houses and gave their yards a good mowing, grilled a couple of real good T-Bone steaks for them, and wished them a good game for tonight. Hope you can make it. Be sure to stay to see your Tigers "hand the Grizzlies their hats" after the Grizzlies win. Remember it's at Grainger, and you know how that good old "home cookin' " is over there. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  6. Man, the rain messed everything up PLAYTOUGH. We were going to have one FANTASTIC "cookout" Monday, but it rained. I'm really sad your Tigers didn't get to "hand the Grizzlies their hats" after the Grizzles won, but I suspect it will be rescheduled. We'll still enjoy some good old "homecookin' ", but won't invite KevB. Got to talk to that young man if he ever comes back over the hill. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  7. PLAYTOUGH and BOXN1, the only thing I enjoy more than a good baseball, softball, basketball, football, or any other game is "stirring the pot". Some jump in and enjoy the fun, and others just get "agitated" and make more fun for me. For one, let me say that I appreciate the good will gesture of handing the winning team their hats after a good ballgame. I'm glad you are making plans for the Tigers to hand the Grizzlies hats to them after the Grizzlies win. Now that's good sportsmanship. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> By the way, look for the smoke and I'll serve you up one of the best home cooked burgers ever "homecooked" at Grainger, Claiborne, or Cumberland Gap. Come on over and enjoy the fun. /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /hungry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":hungry:" border="0" alt="hungry.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  8. Hey boxn1......how 'bout I fire up the old redneck van and hook my pig barbeque cooker to the bumper and come over for the "cookout". I'm sure the Tigers will need a good hot meal to get their heads back up Monday after the Grizzlies hand them a pot of grease! We've all enjoyed a good grilled burger just off the grill over there in Tiger country over the years. Pigeon Forge has taught the rest of us the fine art of "home cookin' " over the years. That's how the seem to be able to recognize it so well! Bring your buns Monday Tigers, you're going to need them! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  9. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" /> Yea, and he scored 22 or 23 points with a tripple team, and fighting the flu. I think that rates him MUCH more that just "good". /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
  10. Good to hear. The Longhorns are a good team. Take nothing from them. They played a hard game and won. No excuses intended nor made. I guess we've all got "some of those fans" to deal with.
  11. It did happen. The fans and cheerleaders did exactly what I posted. As for Grainger players being sick, 2 starters were over the flu one day, McBee has been fighting it for a couple of days, and one of the subs was on the verge of having the flu, and threw up 8 times after the game before he could get out of the locker room. Had Grainger been healthy the play would certainly have been different, and the outcome would not have been what it was either. Johnson County has a tough team, a good playing team, but when they are all healthy, Grainger could hold their own. Good luck Johnson County in the Region. As for the technical, I couldn't see what happened, but I did see two Johnson County players hem McBee in under the goal and undercut him and not get called. I guess the bad calls were pretty well even.
  12. Vader, you certainly are wrong, as usual. Believe me, the Grainger fans have seen plenty of good basketball this season. Get used to hearning the name McBee in a D1 school next year. Sorry your school won't be represented in one of that caliber. You've got some good players though, just not as good as McBee.
  13. Tell you what we'll do. Let's wait until next year and see where McBee ends up. I listened in on part of the conversaton between the Grainger coach, McBee, and the recruiter. He sure didn't seem sad to me. Tell you what. Why don't you get back to me after McBee signs and we'll talk then. I'm willing to wait.
  14. Thank you longhorn22. If I came off even hinting the players and coaches at Johnson County were out of line at all, I apologize, and the fans were just like our fans would be, with several exceptions. I witnessed at least 4 times someone came out of the stands and stood behind one of Grainger's players, real close, while he was throwing the ball in, and screamed obsceneties and everything else in their ears. I even witnessed several of the cheerleaders doing the same. It is sad that we all have fans who need to be escorted out of the gym because they give our schools a bad name. We have our share, but I've never seen anything like I saw last night. Good luck to the Longhorns, and maybe those who acted without class last night will realize it and get their act together.
  15. I take it you've never been to a game in Johnson County High School gymnasium. You will find it's not so much the way the individual teams play ball, but more how the officials "allow" them to play ball.
  16. The response I expected to get. No one is crying, and as far as the atmosphere, any community would support their team. This wasn't team support. It was downright rude unsportsmanlike behavior. I'll be glad to tell the Appalachian State Recruiter who was there last night to see McBee what you've said since he waited around after the game to talk to McBee. Guess he didn't have time to talk to any of your Longhorn players since HE WASN'T INTERESTED! It is evident that you expected to play McBee and not the Grizzlies. I wish I had gone on to watch my Bulldogs play instead of coming to the Longhorn's Barn, since that's what it seemed like. You bet the Longhorn team is a good team! They are so good that a team with 4 starters fighting the flu came back and got close enough to beat them. Yea, that's a real team you've got there. Let's see how well they fare next week with a healthy team on a neutral floor without their "advantage". The "atmosphere" as you put it was mostly a community supporting their team. But, the fans who were so childish...adults especially......who were so rude and usnportsmanlike to step down behind a player to scream obsceneties and other things in their ears....CHEERLEADERS INCLUDED....should have been dealt with by the officials. Other schools have had school officials and law enforcement to see that there were only 10 players and 3 officials on the court. I guess some of your people haven't learned to count that well yet. Without question, what I saw last night on the sidelines was the poorest example of sportsmanship, the rudest fans I've ever seen. Either stop reading your statement on sportsmship before the game or else control the rednecks and cheerleaders on the sidelines. If you will drive out of your parking lot, take 91 to 58 west, and turn right or left on I-81, you will find there is life outside your little gymnasium, and that fans outside know how to act much better than your fans do/did. Enjoy the trip to Chuckey Doak next week........but don't pack your bags for Murfreesboro. You aren't going to be able to add more people to the playing surface there like you do in your "Barn". Hey, by the way. Tell me again how many of your Longhorn players Appalachian State, Wake Forest, UT, and several other schools have actively recruited. Give Appalachian State a call tomorrow and ask their recruiter who he was there to watch/talk to besides McBee. Why don't you guys load up and come over to Claiborne County as see how my Bulldogs and Bulldog fans take care of you on our court! Barn.......Ha Ha Ha. Did I hear a few "Moos" from the sidelines?
  17. Well, I fired up the old redneck van to make the trip to Mountain City to see the tournament game between the Grizzlies and the Longhorns. Needless to say I was disappointed. Not in the two teams on the court, but in the fans in attendance. I don't ever want to hear anyone call my beloved Bulldog fans "rednecks" again, because tonight I saw what a true unsportsmanlike environment was. After hearing the speech during pre-game announcements about sportsmanship, what I saw and heard was anything but. I saw Johnson County fans leaving their seats and standing inches behind Grizzly players who were throwing the ball in, and yelling in their ears. I won't embarass those reading this post by repeating the words that were said to the Grizzly players. I also saw Longhorn cheerleaders getting as close behind the Grizzly players throwing the ball in and doing the same. Adults were getting up out of their seats to scream, only inches, in the Grizzly player's ears. The officials did nothing to stop this, often standing beside the unsportsmanlike fans and cheerleaders while this took place. I realize that fans cheer for and support their team, and should. But to be as unsportsmanlike as many of the Johnson County fans and cheerleaders were is inexcusable. There were even fans leaving their seats and going to the edge of the playing surface to scream at the officials and make threats with nothing done. It is truly a shame that two fine groups of athletes can't compete in a game of basketball without the fans being rude and unsportsmanlike. If I were an administrator or official in attendance, I would truly be ashamed at the way my school supporters acted tonight. I am sure many of you Johnson County fans will blast this post, and officials in attendance will do the same. To the Longhorn basketball team, congratulatoins on your win tonight. To your fans and cheerleaders, you should be ashamed of how you acted tonight and treated the Grizzly basketball team. What happened happened, and cannot be denied. I have heard for years how rude and unsportsmanlike the fans at Johnson County High School were, and tonight I got to see it firsthand. It was shameful and uncalled for. Makes me sick to think of how those actions influenced the younger kids watching such a display. Some of you people need to get out of the mountains ever now and then and see how to act. It did me a world of good tonight. Thank you for showing me how to be unhospitable, rude, unsportsmanlike, and downright nasty to visitors. I only hope you get to experience the same next week at Chuckey-Doak.
  18. Well, we fired up the old redneck van and made the long drive over the mountains to watch the Grizzlies and Tigers do battle in the Pigeon Forge "Jungle". What a game! Back and forth, back and forth the ball went, but try as they could, the Tigers just could not stop the Grizzlies. For once, we had decent officials in the "Jungle". The "Men in Stripes" did a good job with their calls. At times, the fans didn't think so, but the "Stripes" called a good close game with few questionable calls. The Grizzlies walked away with the district regular season title, and will host the tournament in their new "Den" later in the month. Should be interesting. They have been the "come back" team for the past few years and won the District Tournament. We'll see how things go this year. I guess the teams from the snowy south, up in the mountains will be after the Grizzlies hot and heavey, but from what I've seen this season they just don't have the talent or heart. Yes, we crossed the mountains from the north to watch several of those games, and the Grizzlies are near unstoppable. We travel to the Grizzly Den tonight to see if the Panthers have any better luck beating the Grizzlies than the Tigers and several others have. Our neighborhood Bulldogs didn't have any luck their last try, so I guess it's up to the Panthers to save face and go "bear hunting" tonight. Good luck to all, and drive safely. The roads are still a little slick in places. Congratulations Grizzlies in your win last night, and sealing the regular season title. Guess I'd better go out and fuel up the old redneck van for the trip over to "bear country" tonight. Pop the corn, heat the dogs, and cool down those soft drinks Grainger, the Agitator is coming to town! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  19. Way to go Union County! Good luck with PF. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  20. Man, don't we get testy this time of year. I guess the smell of tournament time gets to us. Nah, it'l take more than that to clear me up. Maybe you guys and Rutledge will get to duke it out in the finals Friday night - sure hope so! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  21. softballblonde, I think you've said all that needs to be said. Way to go Lady Pioneers. Just to keep any bruised feelings from getting more bruised, I've seen some good teams play this season in the district, and in the district tournament. All these young ladies and their coaches need to be commended for good play and good sportsmanship. Could I just take a little liberty and say the Lady Pioneers have what it takes to go all the way through this year - yes I think I will Go Lady Pioneers! /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  22. WOW! rsquared! They DO teach you guys to read and research. Sure am glad......it saved me the trouble. By the way, who said the district tournament title was awarded to the team that had already "dealt with" teams? Maybe you need to teach them to read too! I didn't get to stick around and see your game last night....how did you guys do with Pigeon Forge? Did you finish them or will we have to finish them later in the week? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  23. rSquared, Jumping the gun? I don't think so. Rutledge HAS dealt with both teams. What more need be said? /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
  24. Billybuck, your a good man. Old agitator wasn't trying to "stir the pot", but just give a first-hand account of what happened. Maybe I included too many details for some of our other readers and things hit too close home. No bother. Both teams showed great sportsmanship towards each other as did both team coaches. No hard feelings between either team - just good old competetive sport! Only ones they were upset with were the umpires and they did exactly what they were supposed to do. Should be a good game Saturday.
  25. Charger81, two young men made the wrong decision at home plate during that game. Another player did the same, as did two coaches. I didn't uncork this bottle, but I'll be glad to put the cork back in and drop it. Facts are facts, pictures don't lie. Neither player accidentally ran over the catcher. Both acted intentionally. Noone accidentally left the dugout and came onto the field. Actions carry consequences, and in this case those consequences were quite expensive. Consider it corked, unless you want to pull the cork out for more. Just kidding! Leave it in! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />
