    Who's On Fire!

Revenge? Apparantly not. Looks like the teacher is still schooling the student. Maybe Bearden needs to get a bulldog back in charge instead of the admiral disciple!
  2. Thank's for the insight (I guess) I was not trying to stir the pot or start an argument. Just wondered if anyone knew what happened? I do think they play again this saturday though. Does anyone know where that game is and what time?
  3. I would not put them in state just yet. I know they are a fantastic baseball team, but in that district and region anything could happen. Poosibly the best baseball district in the state.
  4. Anyone know any insight as to what took place in that game?
  5. I heard that also. Pretty sure it is true. Do not know any details though.
  6. Rutledge will win this one but that will be the end of the road because there will be no innings pitched blunders on Friday.
  7. If you will remember way back in this thread to some extent I agreed with you. If it is the district tournament and the kid is a senior I can see letting them go longer or for more innings, but doing that on a regular basis in regular season is wrong, for whatever reason. I do not disagree if a student athelete knows they are finished they should lay it all on the line at the end of the season SOMETIMES even through soreness but a coach should not abuse any player even the ones who are not going to have a future pitching, if anything a coach should protect those kids even more and that does not happen in most cases. You agree or disagree?
  8. Catsbackr, Why are you so defensive? I am a high school baseball coach and have no misconceptions about how many kids will actually make it to the next level. What I am saying is that a good high school coach will make every effort to develop the kids he has to go to the next level whenever possible and not abuse them for his own good. Maybe none of them make it to the next level, maybe they do. A coach should not abuse them and POSSIBLY take that opportunity from them. That is all I am saying. You can disagree all you want but 13-18 year old kids are not fully developed and a high school coach should help in that development not hurt. You say LL kids should not throw breaking balls. What is the difference. Your opinion has no merit if you say it is not o.k. to injure a kid at 10 and 11 years old but when they get to 13-18 it is o.k. to just throw them at will because they have no future in baseball.
  9. I did not say it was the coaches fault if the kid does not go to the next level. I just said a coaches job is to TRY and develop them to do that if that is thier goal. How can anyone say that a kids arm cannot be overused. If it is thier last year and the season is on the line I would throw to and did. I am not blaming coaches for kids getting to the next level I am one.
  10. Oneida stinks bad and their coach is a crybaby!
  11. Thanks, That assures Rutledge of the 1 seed in that district I think. Do you have any idea how any of the other teams in that district are doing this year?
  12. Anyone know a final on Rutledge and Cumberland Gap last night?
  13. This will be two great games between these two teams. I am going to say that each of them takes one game and not much gets decided.
  14. This thread started about the best team in that area so here is my 2 cents. I have played or at least seen all of these teams play and Seymour is far and away the best team up there. Sevier county has gotten much better as the season has progressed along with G.P. Both have coaches who seem to have an idea of how to get things going in the right direction, just need a little more talent to work with. I think Pegion Forge is going in the opposite direction. I am not judging coaches here but the facilities have took a drastic downward turn(the field) and there is better talent on that team than many high school teams but will it develop the way it has been in the past. Seymour is just solid all the way around. Good talent and good coaching.
  15. The kids and coaches that want to work at it are going to work at it anyway. The good coaches are not going to tell a kid who wants to hit or work on his game in general that they cannot do that. These rules they have imposed cannot possibly be inforced. Are they going to go to each and every school and make sure. These are ridiculous rules. If I want to hit for 365 days I will and the state cannot stop me.
