Here's a number for you, #3. No it's not Dale Earnhardt. It's the number of months teachers get off during the summer. That's not to mention every weekend and holiday they get off. As far as coaches go, they are volunteering to do something they love to do and get paid extra to do it. That don't sound too bad to me.

You may have a good point or 2 in there somewhere, but I disagree about teachers and coaches not getting paid enough.

I'd say the top 8 teams are the ones that won state championships. If you were a sports writer you could argue that D-B was one of the top teams.

You're stuck on classes 2,3, and 4 which is impressive no doubt, but there are 4 other classes in Tennessee. I'm surprised you've not mentioned Knox Webb yet. When was the last time a 5A team from East Tennessee won it all? Or 1A? Or II-AAA? Or II-A?

I think students should be allowed to go to whatever school they choose. After my parents moved after my sophomore year, I did not want to switch schools and teams. What's the big deal about going to school in a different county or zone?

Will Curt Phillips have to compete for the qb position when he transfers or will it just be a given that he's the starter?

Surely Ralph would not take the job this late and do that to the East program would he? I just don't see him leaving East for another area school unless it is South. Did he ever get offered the job at South? I know seeing him in his East gear is about like seeing Jeremy Jenkins wearing South colors a few years back.
