  1. I'm convinced - Fulton is Da' Man! I'm very, very impressed with the play of the Fulton offensive and defensive lineMEN, especially the one they lined up in the backfield the second half. Grats to BOTH teams. Lipscomb team, staff, and fans - you guys had a great season - and you represented our Region 5 with tremendous play and sportsmanship! Giles County Bobcats wishing the best to both schools for the Holiday Season. Again, many grats to the Falcons. You guys earned it on the field!
  2. Throwing my prediction out now . . . I'm sticking to my earlier post. Three points: (1) If anyone beats Lipscomb - - they will have earned it, it will not be a fluke. (2) Lipscomb 37 - Fulton 14, my prediction (3) Giles County and Goodpasture are the only teams to hold Lipscomb to under 30 points in a game. The Giles County defense allow "only" three touchdowns per game. Until someone does better - the AAA "state championship game" - two best teams on a given night was two weeks ago where Lipscomb defeated Giles County by a score of 21 - 14. Best of luck to both teams, fans travel safe . . . . Bobcats pulling for Region 5 foe Mustangs to bring the Gold Ball home to middle Tennessee.
  3. Thank you - - the winner of this game will NOT be determined by the great backs on both sides of the ball; however, by which group of linemen are still sprinting in the 4th quarter! Good luck to both teams and all fans travel safe!
  4. I understand that Fulton has a group of very good linemen. Is this group playing both offense and defense (both ways) or are they one-way players?
  5. With the loss of Pettus, Edgemon, Cobb, and Bain, there is definitely a gap to be filled, especially when you throw in the fact that the number backup was Braden (a senior) and Dunnavant was a receiver his junior year prior to QB this year - - the only player on the 2007 team to have caught a pass in a game is possibly Perez. Also this group became a very good group of down field blockers the last half of this season. However, there are several young upcoming players that will be able to step in - with the proper work ethic in the off season. This is a great opportunity for some young Bobcats to step up and say, "I want to be a starter next year!" - - and get to work!
  6. I stand by my quote ........... "If anyone beats Lipscomb - they will have earned it!"- Congrats to the Mustangs and good luck in the Big One from the Bobcats of Giles County!
  7. Lipscomb has scored over 30 points on everyone except Giles County and Goodpasture. Until I'm proven wrong - - I believe Giles County and Lipscomb are the two best 3 - A teams. Lipscomb 34 - Dyersburg 17 If anyone beats Lipscomb - they will have earned it! Best of Luck Lipscomb from the Giles County Bobcats.
  8. Sincere thanks to both you Big County and Titanman for your kind words. This group of seniors will be sincerely missed, however, they will have lasting impression and hopefully positive impact on Giles County football in the years to come. They are a class act! Best of luck to both of your in your schools in the years to come. Region 7 is a very, very competitive region - maybe the most competitive of any region in our state from TOP to BOTTOM! The Bobcats will be pulling for the Mustangs to go the distance! Knowing there are no easy contests over the next two weeks . . . however, that's where our region competiton will allow you to be mentally prepared for anything to come! Best of luck!
  9. To ALL our football seniors! Your records says it all. Sophomore year: 1 - 9, Junior year: 4 - 6, Senior year: 11 - 2 Hard work, persistence, excellence, character, CHAMPIONS! You have united a community of 20,000 and made us all proud and set a standard for all Bobcats to follow. You will always be remembered as, possibly, the best GCHS football TEAM of all time! You're role models in our community! May your many successes continue and your future be blessed!
  10. Thank you "Horsefly" for your kind remarks. They are sincerely appreciated. As you very well represent - high school athletics as all about, assisting academics, in building a strong foundation for young men and women. Our student/athletics pull from the support and encourage that our schools, community and fans give them. (Unfortunately they pull from the negative when it surfaces, as well.) The Giles County fans and parents sincererly appreciate the envirnoment and sportsmanship that you provided us last week, as we unfortunately experienced our last game of the season and lives (for our seniors and senior parents). It will be a game remembered for our lifetime, not because of the loss - but, for the quality of the game, the competition, and the atmosphere. Our 18 seniors, who by the way - had a different head football coach, every year since the sixth grade, had an experience of a life time last Friday night, that I only wish every high school student/athlete could experience. And to our Bobcat coaching staff - many, many heart filled thanks ....... for helping to turn our young boys - into young men over the past 12 months. As I said before ..... Good luck Mustangs . . . you defeated us at our best! Our entire community of 20,000 people are extremely proud of our performance on your campus last week and of our entire season.
  11. Best of luck to the Mustangs from the fans of Giles County! Hit 'em in the mouth! Twice, one for the Mustangs and one for the Bobcats!
  12. Close this thread please ........ so all this crying and cross crying ----------- this whining is NOT coming from Giles County fans. We do not want people to think we're making excusing for coming up 7 points short last night!
  13. Tonight was a great, great high school football game. The teams were great and the fans were outstanding on both sides. The officials and the coaches mangaged the game well. High school football does not get any better than tonight at Lipscomb and this is coming from a Giles County fan. More to come later! We brought our game faces and "super sized" game plan. You guys beat us while we gave one of our best performances. Bring the state championship to our Region! The Bobcats wish nothing but the best to the Mustangs. Win at ALL!
  14. GAME DAY! T - Minus 12 hours and counting! Game faces on! All fans travel safe! Two great teams on a great weather night! GO Bobcats!
  15. T - minus 24 hours and counting til kickoff! Only serious game faces: Go Bobcats!
