  1. With AC knocking off Lenoir City on Monday night, Kingston takes the #2 seed outright. Unfortunately for the Lady Yellow Jackets, if they beat Lenoir City on Thursday night, LC drops to 4th and Loudon moves to 3rd, putting them on Kingston's side of the bracket. D'oh!
  2. Agreed. It's a stupid rule anyway.
  3. I know AC holds tiebreakers over Loudon and Kingston, but who holds the tiebreak between Lenoir City and OS if it comes to that?
  4. Yep, that's her. I think she played in the final four once.
  5. Wright clears the bench early in this game ... OS 75, SHS 50
  6. 4AA is at Oliver Springs and starts on Saturday the 22nd with 3/6 and 4/5 elimination games.
  7. Loudon defeats Kingston to make this race even more tight. I think this is what we know, following the 2/13 matchup... 1st - Oliver Springs 5th - Scott 6th - Anderson County 2nd - Kingston or Lenoir City can grab the spot by winning out, or a Lady Panther loss to AC gives the 2 seed to Kingston 3rd - Kingston is 3rd if LC wins both games. LC is 3rd by losing 1 of 2. Loudon is 3rd by LC losing both games next week. 4th - Loudon is 4th unless LC loses both games; then Loudon will be 3rd and LC 4th. Can someone confirm that?
  8. Thanks in part to the Loudon Lady Redskins, no tie-breaker will come into play and the Lady Cats take the title outright. Loudon beats Kingston 45-44 on 2/13, giving the Lady Jackets district loss #3.
  9. Kingston's best teams were 88-90 with 2 substate appearances and a state appearance. Dana Puckett, Melanie Puckett, Kellye Bullard, Amy Morton, Sara "Bull" Trull, and Laura Jones were some of the names on those teams. On the opposite extreme the 91,92, and 93 teams were some of the worst in the history of Kingston basketball winning somethin like 10 games total in those 3 years. Thank goodness for Wartburg...
  10. Loudon 86 Kingston 59 Loudon hit 12 3's on the night in the 27 point win. Looks like the Yellow Jackets have a matchup with Scott High awaiting, while LC plays Oliver Springs. AC/LC will decide 1 and 2, looks like.
  11. I'd say Mays was the best lineman, but it would be a coin flip for me to pick between Aaron Roberts, Jim Lambert, or Bryan Sharpe for the best all-around player at Kingston.
  12. The devil is definitely in the details. OR would be pretty central, but I've never been in their gym.
  13. Yes, they are the same for boys. As for the girls, If Kingston wins tomorrow, it locks up 2 for Kingston and (I think) 3 for Lenoir City. OS is already 1 and Anderson County is already 6. It's a Loudon win on Thursday that makes it confusing. [Edited by swamp on 2-12-03 10:46P]
  14. Scott would only move up if they beat OS and Kingston beat Loudon and they had the tiebreaker over Loudon, and, even at that, if Kingston wins either, Loudon and Scott would still play each other. We'll be one step closer to knowing after the Kingston/Loudon game on Thursday.
  15. I'd almost like to see it go to a neutral site every year like 7AA does. The funny thing about OS is that it is the most centrally located of all 6 schools but has the smallest capacity. I really don't care much for making Loudon travel to Huntsville (or vice versa) for 4-6 nights. Travel is even worse when US HWY 27 comes into play... ...just something to ponder...
  16. Beating Loudon will be tough over there, that's for sure. Loudon will definitely have to shoot better than they did at Kingston, though. I think they missed somewhere around 20 3's. I think I agree that being the 2 might be better than being the 1, as that still puts you in the region but it puts you on the opposite side of the bracket to the Bobcats, who are peaking right now. I can't believe LC lost to Sweetwater. I'm not sure how Kingston gets to #2, though. I guess they beat Loudon & LC and LC over AC gets that result...
  17. I really hope that's not true. It'll really cause an uproar if you both your teams win and you're paying $4 (or more)/night to see 1 game/night for as many as 6 days.
  18. Sorry, that was an old post and I didn't put up the new ones since coacht is doing it...but I think it's this: OS 8-1 Kingston 6-2 LC 4-4 Loudon 4-5 Scott 3-6 AC 1-8
  19. I haven't heard that, but I have heard that they will only be having 2 games per night and stretching the tourney out from Sat to Sat if necessary. Maybe Goosevol (or somebody else close to OS/4AA) knows...
  20. Kingston girls are one win away from the 2 seed (and the region berth) with a 13-point win over the Lady Mavs. Only 2 things are certain: OS is 1st and AC is 6th. Scott will likely be 5th unless they pull off the huge upset against OS. Kingston clinches 2nd by beating either Loudon or LC. If Kingston beats Loudon, Kingston is 2, LC is 3, and Loudon is 4. If Loudon beats Kingston, then it comes down to next week's games AC/LC and LC/Kingston.
  21. Anderson County downs Kingston by 3; hits something like 9 3's and 17/20 free throws. Score 59-56. Looks like the Loudon/Kingston loser has the inside track for 3rd place. AC 7-2 Loudon 7-2 Kingston 6-2 Of course, LC gets the chance to play spoiler... LC 4th, OS 5th, Scott 6th
  22. Do you know who holds the tiebreaker(s)? Kingston still has Loudon (Thur) & LC (next Thur) after tonight.
  23. They are definitely clicking. A 19-point win over Kingston speaks for itself, and they gave Loudon all they wanted in a 1-point loss. It looks like OS will play LC in the first round of the district tournament.
  24. At least 2 of these teams will not make Murfreesboro. Who has the best shot and who is the long shot?
