  1. I started watching the Cubs when we first got cable at home around 84. I can still hear Van Halen's jump and tell you the 84 lineup. And can hear harry and steve calling the games....

that's when they became my 2nd fave team. (I already had a fave team by then, and it wasn't them.)

The Cubs take this series with their pitching.

  2. I can you first personally that Kingston's Chad Johnson makes a huge difference my friends!! If you don't believe me, just ask any player or coach on the AC staff or team!!

If Johnson playes against Rockwood, Scott, and OS or any of those teams, I don't believe they lose them all!!!

A9, he did play against Rockwood. I didn't see the Scott game, but he might have made a few points difference against OS, but OS would have still won.

  3. I'm curious as to what scenario people are using to get Scott High ahead of Lenoir City when all is said and done. I'm not saying it can't or won't happen; I just wonder how you think it occurs. I know that they are ahead right now, but if they wind up tied, it goes to LC.

  4. What can the Jackets expect from LC? It's a big game for both squads, but LC needs to get back on the winning track to try for that playoff spot. Kingston needs to go 3-1 down the stretch to get into the playoffs, probably, and might still need help.

  5. Not aware of any starters quitting, but I could be wrong.

Kingston just didn't have the horses in the trenches against OS, but in their other 3 losses they've had a multitude of turnovers. Day & Johnson being hurt hasn't helped either.

Kingston looked pretty good at AC. If they don't quit, they still have a chance at making the playoffs.

  6. CCHS

It seems you have a problem with OS winning. YOu have placed them 5th in the region at the begining of the year and stated they are grossly overated since week 1. You have gone out of your way to express your dislike of Oliver Springs. I'm sorry their success is stinging somewhat. I think that is more the issue than any posts of mine that talk about the success of the Bobcats.

My point is the officiating isn't always going to be even balanced. It all evens out. I do think Kingston performance was a great one. For the Yellow Jacket to rebound and take one of the better AAA teams to the wire, speaks volumes about King and his coaching staff.

Good post OS91. There were some bad calls, but at the end of the day, Kingston didn't make the final stop when it was 14-14. Kingston turned the ball over too much - again - and that cost them, too.

  7. True the Scott Co loss to LC hurts their chances. The big game for LC the must win game for LC is the Kingston game, if they can win that game LC should finish 4th with a district record of 4-3 and Scott finishes 3-4.

I think even if LC were to lose that game and wind up tied with Scott, LC would still have the tiebreaker.

  8. No , I'm not positive of the record, but they had a couple of bad years when these guys were in the eighth grade. Anybody from Kingston remember the exact record?

If you're talking about the high school record, this could be the 3rd time in 7 years they miss the playoffs, not to mention that they've finished 4th twice in the last 8.

    1996 5-5, 5-6 4th place

    1997 4-6

    1998 10-0, 14-1 region champs, state runner-up

    1999 8-2, 9-3, region co-champs

    2000 9-1, 9-2 region champs

    2001 4-6

    2002 7-3, 7-4 4th place

    2003 2-3 with a brutal schedule left.

  9. Swamp, Do you think Kingston still has a shot at the playoffs or do you think Scott Co will finish 4th?

As of right now, I'm thinking that 4 spot is going to LC. Kingston would have to go 3-2 to make the playoffs and I wouldn't bet on that with their remaining schedule. The LC loss really hurts the Highlanders.

  10. I didn't know you could use the word Tech and MTSU in the same sentence without causing a fight. Way to go CoachT.

The team I always hated was Eastern. They had the guy that looked like Col. Sanders on the basketball team while I was a student. They were a good football team but their basketball team was one-dimensional -- all mouth.
