Look at the numbers of privates to public over the years in A/AA. Privates dominate the brackets every year. Yeah their are plenty of good public schools. Page is good but hasn't won a state, and when they were there (twice) they were defeated buy a private. Get em out of DI.

Not too many open zone systems. MNPS is, but most of their teams are AAA anyway. And their zones aren't open to other counties and states either.

Nice to see more public schools in there. But A/AA is still dominated by the privates come tournament time. Hard to compete against teams with players from multiple areas of their county or even multiple counties. Praise God that there is one making the move to DII.

This should be good.

Congrats to Marshall County. They deserve this. Not too bad for a school that gets players from just a small area- and not players from several zip codes. Good luck in the region and beyond.

11AA is Marshall, Central Magnet, Nolensville, Giles, Lawrence, Tullahoma, Spring Hill. This is definite. Page is moving to AAA potentially?

Former Franklin High School coach Jimmy Burchett passed this morning after a long battle with cancer. He was a great coach, mentor, and father. He was a coaching legend. RIP

Marshall is every bit as good as Pearl. They just got their FB players back and are still missing 2 Seniors who will play significant minutes.

Marshall visits Giles tonight. Should be good.

Marshall Co. will be pretty good this year. They can give a run at it. Not saying they will win but they will be tough. Looked pretty good their first 2 games with only a couple of starters. Football is over and now they get their team fully loaded.

well they have put the small college CPA in DII where they belong so that will help everyone!

DA lost most of their offense from last year- Hollingsworth, Gilbert, Swinea, Broadwell, Starling. They have a young QB who hardly played at all. The "big 4-start recruit" has 2 left feet. They will need another year to improve on what returned this year.

Are there any high school tournaments for next Spring? Preferably around Middle TN.

Davidson basically lost their whole offense losing Hollingsworth, Gilbert, Swinea. I don't see them winning much. QB is young and didn't play hardly any last season.

Lavergne High School is not a good site. Seating for fans is inadequate. The men's restrooms were porta-pots. Ridiculous.

As long as TSSAA allows the recruiters to stay in DI it will be the same private schools in the A/AA tournament every year.

And so it is- Davidson Academy whips USJ and advances to their first State Tournament in several years. DA pitching was deeper and proved they are a great team with no respect from anyone around middle TN. Good Luck to the Bears!!! ROW!!

So is Coffee a State contender again? I was surprised that after losing their pitcher from last year to see them rolling again! And what about Tullahoma, Lawrence, and Shelbyville? Seems they may have a say so in this district. Franklin Co. is bad again. And Columbia is awful, even worse now with their new coach.

SS Hayden Hollingsworth from Davidson Academy signed with Maryville today. Also a great football player with 2000+ receiving yards the last 2 years. DA Bears should make another run toward the DII-A State tournament this season.
