  1. What are the chances that TJD drops back down to 112 for the duals and state, he looked like he had been sucking a lot of weight during his match?
  2. Baylor won the 1999 Bradley Inv. by a solid margin, Bradley came back and won the duel meet by a solid score, lots of swing matches from the tournament 3 weeks prior. wrestling fans would love to see this match-up resume, including myself.
  3. Baylor and Bradley use to wrestle, the last match was in 1999, and also the last time Baylor attended the Bradley invitational. I dont think you know what kind of hornets nest you just stirred up, but I'm sure it is going to get ugly.
  4. What time will the match be held on Friday?
  5. No 90, I don't know all the circumstances, but I have seen this before in past years, sometimes it works out for McCallie, and if it does, then good strategy. If it does not work out, then some key guys loose some experiance on the mat, that is all I am saying.
  6. No, just GC's way of doing things, he does not want them to have any tough matches before the Baylor meet. Keeping half the lineup out of a tournament just to get an edge against Baylor? See if it works, doubt it though. The best way to beat a tough team is to compete against the top competition day in and day out, kind of like Baylor and SD do it.
  7. I am sure that Mr. Johnson will be at the top of his game for the upcoming match, just like the rest of the Baylor team. What has happened to TJD moving up a weight class? I see he wrestler 119 at the West tournament, it that now his spot? 103 B 5 112 B 4 119 M 4 125 M 3 130 M 6 135 B 3* 140 B 3* 145 M 3 152 B 4 160 B 5 171 B 3 189 B 3 215 M 6 285 B 6 That will make it Baylor 36, McCallie 22. A huge swing match at 135 and 140, I have seen Bell hang with some of the best in the state this year, I just hope he steps it up against the big blue. Good luck to all, It should be a great time
  8. McCallie will have to make a LOT of things happen to pull this one out. They will have to get bonus points where they are expected to, and also not give up those same bonus points when they face stronger Baylor wrestlers. Looking forward to this one, any speculations if McCallie will jumble thier line up since 3 of their studs dropped a weight class? any of them going to come right back up against their cross town rivals?
  9. Is Cash going to stay at 135lb with Mr. Johnson being at that weight class?
  10. Congrats Dan, UTC is lucky to have you
  11. BCB, who will be the top dog then at 130?
  12. Trey Stavrum will most likely be at 119 next month, TJ will wrestle Bailey W at 112 in a month, and really, Jeff Francis of MBA is the big dog in the 112lb wieght class.
  13. Correct me if I am wrong, but Georgia wrestling has yet to start the wieght regulation program that Tennessee has. Some of the Parkview wrestlers looked HUGE this weekend, I could not believe how much bigger they were at each weight class. That really makes a difference when kids can drop as much weight as they want to. Taking nothing away from they way they can wrestle, but I think this does give them an advantage.
  14. Brad Lane wrestled against SD in the 1st match of the season, wrestled John Lane and got injured, he was out until Christmas. I forgot about Rankin, thanks for clearing things up.
  15. Not disagreeing with you at all, I think it was handled the correct way also
  16. Jordan Leen (8th grade) beat out Will Carson (9th grade) Matt Provenzano (8th grade) beat out Claytor Thompson (9th grade) Brad Lane (8th grade ) beat out ???? cant seem to recall the wrestler I have posted on this subject before. Baylor "usually" does not bring up any 8th graders unless they are needed to fill a spot, but as I recall these situations were different, even though I think all of the wrestlers involved were attempting to break into the line-up in some way.
  17. Not exactly true, they have had some 8th graders beat out high school kids for the spot.
  18. I don't know about if he was allowed to participate in wrestle off's or not, but an 8th grader is usually only brought up into the line-up if the high school team needs him to fill a spot. 112lbs for Baylor was being filled by a 2X state champion, so no need to fill the role. I don't know if TJ could have beaten Baily, but I guess we are going to find out later in the season. Also, if this is not the kids "dream", and it is in fact his parent's wishes, then their is something very wrong. I really hope that is not the case.
  19. Well said, I had the privilage of actually coaching this kid a couple years back at Baylor wrestling camp. I saw the potential he had and really think he will make some noise at the high school level, and possibly beyond. Would have loved to see him in red and grey, but McCallie is a great program. Good decision to let a kid keep his dream. I wish him luck.
  20. Well, no disappointments. A great meatch that came down to the wire. Both teams looked well coached and prepared for the other team and the big guns from both squads. Congrats to SD on a great comeback, it looked like Baylor had it after the 103 match, but SD railed off 3 straight to win.
  21. That would be interesting, it has been awhile since I was a 145lber
  22. I think you really need to chill out, have a coke and a smile or something.
  23. That's amazing, pretty much every wrestler is undefeated at this time.
