  1. I didn't bring up the recruiting issue, just agreed, but also said that that subject was another topic, and tried to redirect the writer to stay on the issue at hand.
  2. Yes, I was there. I have been a Greeneville basketball fan for years. I simply quoted the Sun because it is usually a reliable source and I have no reason to think their stats were not accurate.
  3. Let's pull our heads out of the sand. Bill Duncan can't find people jobs and the head football coach gets his entire compensation package from Greeneville City School Systems. Get Real. Duncan knows basketball as well as anybody, does great with what he's got, but we all know he plays outside the box also. I didn't mean for this thread to become a Duncan bashing session, but I have no control over others opinions. By the way Barb, you said you didn't go to the game, not me, and you never have given me the info on Duncan coaching in the Olympics.
  4. Barb, I need some help. You stated that Bill Duncan was an Olympic coach. Could you please give me some more information on this. I had thought that he was a coach on the Kuwaiti National Team. According to Kuwait's Official Olympic Site, Kuwait has never even played an "Olympic" basketball game. I was just curious and trying to get some clarification on this.
  5. Sorry to dissapoint you Barb, but according to the box scores printing in the Greeneville Sun, Cocke County was 5 for 11. Let's assume they make all of their 1st shots, that would make them 5 of 10, if they missed all of their 2nd. If every shot was a one-and-one, and they missed all of their 1st shots except 5, they would have only gotten 6 more attempts. Again, my point, at best Greeneville still gets 14 more attempts from the line than CC. On your 1st statement, how could I be embarassed to be from Greeneville, if I'm not FROM Greeneville. Kinda obvious. My statement of ignorant was only in reply to someone using the term 1st, but obviously not completely reading the post. Evidently someone needs to see what Webster's has to say about "ignorant".
  6. Do you have a problem with reading comprehension ? I stated in the 2nd sentence that I was from Greeneville. I knew it wouldn't take long for someone to start making "ignorant" statements. Maybe you should read a post before you start posting replys to it. Thanks for a very professional reply.
  7. Sorry to dissapoint you but I am from Greeneville and graduated from Greeneville High School. I haven't seen anyone from Cocke County on here complaining.
  8. WOW. What a good game. Hats off to Unicoi. I haven't seen this kind of total hustle in ages. Can everyone on this team shoot the 3 ball? Congratulations on a well deserved victory. Let's not let trash clutter this game. #11 was the smallest guy on the floor and very well may have led the team in rebounds...what a play maker. And #22 has a stroke as well as anyone I've seen. Great coaching and great playing. Hopefully both teams will still be strong in the end of the season. By the way, the bone to the eye was very unfortunate and very accidental. 34 was simply playing agressive after pulling a defensive rebound and had 2 guys on him rather tightly. I wish the best to the injured player.
  9. I was just searching for the guy you wrote. Not sure who this hoopsgod30 is but I can't remember anything from him in the past.
  10. I must have missed something. Who is "hoopwhatzhizname", and what has he posted. What does he have to do with this string?
  11. CRITICS ARE SILENCED Black Knights Win by 13
  12. Barb, I'm just glad to hear from you. I know anything to do with Greeneville basketball that you will be here. So do you agree that the proof is in the pudding?
  13. Think it was obvious to the 50 plus fans booing and yelling "Home Cooking"
  14. Yea, when the coach cleared the floor with over 4 minutes left in the 2nd last night, I thought it was kinda early. Thanks to the calling, it alsmost was. If CD can remain healthy, that should have a great season. Bench did a good job last night and continued with spreading the lead in the 2nd.
  15. I figured most of the Duncan Worshippers would be keying in, but you can't argue with the truth Huh ?
  16. The box score of that game will paint an obvious picture also. The refs did all they could to take a blow out and turn it into a game. Pitiful. Would have been a disgrace for an obviously superior team like Chuckey Doak to lose that game.
  17. Most everyone knows that he is guilty of recruiting, but that is another story. I just feel like it is disgraceful to bring teams in like in the Landair Classic, and serve up so much "obvious" home cookin'. I don't see why the teams continue to come. I have heard several of them comment that they knew what to expect when they come to Greeneville. Some of the games in the tournament were absolutely terrible.
  18. I am not saying that Duncan cannot coach. I just think that he intimidates some refs into making calls his way.
  19. In basketball you have classification, region and district. The classification is the size of the school by student count. You can play up a division, but in most cases, cannot play down. Region is the geographical area of the state that the school is located starting in the east as region 1 and working its way to the western border. Inside each region, which usually covers several counties, you will have districts. There can and is teams within a same city or county playing in different classes, regions and districts. I hope this helps to clear up your question.

  21. How long will teams allow the refs at Greeneville to steal games. It is embarrasing to be from Greeneville and watch the officiating in that gym. Anyone with any basketball knowledge or experience can look at the box scores alone and see what is obviously happening. Greeneville starts off 0 for 11 from the field, but goes to the line 16 times in the 1st half to only trail by one at halftime. Lets not forget that unless it's a shooting foul, we're not going to the line until after 7 fouls. For the game Greenevile shot 20 more free throws and wins by 11. This not only gives Greeneville more direct scoring, but changes the entire game by opponents having to bench their stars or starters due to questionable calling. This situation is obvious and I just wondered how others felt. In an earlier game, Bill Duncan stood on the floor and threatened a referee with his job. I was told by a Senior official that a lot of the guys are afraid to make calls against Duncan. I know that the Greeneville regulars will answer this with all of the "quit crying" and "sour grape" comments, but this is an obvious and legitamate situation that needs to be fixed.
  22. The thin kid is John Stone.
  23. So, what did you think of Dobner ?
  24. Ted is very knowledgable and with some talent, can turn this program into a descent one.
  25. The best AA player ...Bar None, is Brad Dobner from Chuckey Doak in East Tn. You haven't heard from him because he is a California transfer. He may be the most complete player in years. Everyone has their opinions of home town boys, but this kid is nasty. He is very headsy, unselfish, smart, great defender, and can take over a game at the drop of a hat, but only does it when needed. Google him. He has been a team leader and starter since his freshman year at Amador in Sacremento. The name may be new to you now, but trust me, you will hear more before this season is over.
